When I had first seen this scene I read it quite metaphorically: The young man runs after her mother who will give birth to him after the marriage with his father, and tries to halt the marriage ceremony to avoid his own existance. That was before watching the movie. I have different ideas now; but this initial thought has always been influential on my later interpretations.

Well, as for me, in this scene we could see young guy who wanted to stay with his mother forever, while she understands that it would be bad for him.. He just don't want to cut child-adult relations with her, and build adul-adult relations. Well, it's quite difficult to explain all these moments in English 4 me.
When I watched the movie, I also made some compares with my realtions with my mother. And I wish my mam was like his mother. Cause there was love between them. That song make me sad=(
