I maidened my new Freewing 80mm F-22 Raptor today. I took the gyro out and installed a Spektrum AR8360T AS3X+/SAFE receiver. I set up SAFE on all of my EDF's just in case I can't see them at the ends of the field. I used a 4.2V/cell 5000mAh-6S SMC pack. I landed with 40° of flaps on the first flight and landed with takeoff flaps (15°) on the 2nd flight. I think I'll change the landing flaps to 30° before I fly it again. I also have the 70 and the 90. They all fly great.
@@FatGuyFliesRC No, I tried them on my 90mm Raptor and put them back the way they were. When you mix two channels on the same surface, you lose at least 25% of the throw in each axis. And, I don't want to use 150% for servo travel. I've never liked using a surface for two functions (flaperons, tailerons, etc.). I'll let Jon without the H at Two Brothers RC do that stuff..
Dang:D now your Hangar must be exploding Greg xD Sweet flight and she was floating in the second flight, looked like super cool touch and goes. Cool plane! 👌🏼 Great flights 👌🏼! Have a good week!
I like to stand 1/4th of the way down the runway from the approach end. If I touch down in front of me, I have 3/4th's of the runway left for stopping.
That takeoff on the 2nd flight looked hairy. You should cut the rudder throw down to 70 or 75% and use 25 or 30% expo. You could do a combo or logical switch that turns it down when the gear is down. Yeah, I know. It was just the 2nd flight.. 😎
are your rates at 100% than your dual rates 100% with 30% expo? because measuring the movement of my Alerons i had to set my rates at 140 than my dual rates at 100% to get the 22mm of travel that the book calls for.
In the book they give you mm and percentages. The percentages are for us spektrum users and are the same measurement as mm. (work out the same). I just wish they gave percentages for the flap settings. I had to eyeball that.
Never looked at the book. Love my setup I copied my setup tailerons and gyro settings exactly from my 70mm 150 elevators 120 ailerons 100 rudder flies great to me. But, I’m running all my planes with tailerons. Hope this helps. I am running 8ch Spektrum. Removed stock gyro. Until I get 10 for full wing control. Running 4400 all the way forward I’ll be testing more rear eventually and loving the spins and flips with 3:30-4minutes.
@@Hype_RC I am thinking of removing the stock gyro (even though it is great) and install a 8 channel spektrum SAFE receiver and take advantage of that gyro without have to use up a channel.
@ Do it! Do it! We’re all just kids at heart trying to keep the good times rollin! And if you have a 4k pack with you one day give her a try for sniffs & giggles … you may just like her even more
Love the 70mm so you know I had to get the 80mm!!!

Did you set up tailerons?

@@TheRCAviator Fair enough.

LOL watch the second video much better! Thanks!

Yeah , good practice.
Hey greg no mount fuji to the right,,, looks like much better aproach
Yes but I hate landing from that way for some reason.

I turned it down on the rudder. 3rd and 4th were much better.

why? when the 90mm is only 80$ more
I already have the 90 also and the 70.
