Best basic beginners tuorial ever, yes please do more of them we definitely need them :) this is the one who helped me the most ^^ i am a patreon, your renders are the definition of photorealistic render.
Great tutorial! Thanks. I love Fstorm and I thought many times about leaving corona to use it fully. The only thing with fstorm is that there is no real support if you really need and if you work with archviz in a company you are very vulnerable. The guy behind it is impossible to work with and doesn't care about his paying clients. If you work for small company or have a small team it is a good option as it is much faster then other render engines and very powerful. But I am really frustrated now after some years working with part-time with it. It is such a gem of a software, so ahead of the competition but really it is one little guy doing everything and shitting about his clients.
What pc configuration are you using for this video. Can you tell me how approximately takes to render get finished render with fstorm, and your pc config?
Alright, what about 3d models ? As we know most of them adopted to vray, some to corona, what to do with materials? Is it possible to auto-convert? Example: we have tree, it consist of vray multi/sub materials, so, convert each material manually ? And what about proxies, do they exist ?
@22:59 I want to point out, how would you match your sun(highlight area) of the HDRI to correctly match the fstrom sun direction? does the check box of the direct lighting enable work? because you would always want to have the sun shines correctly corresponding to the HDRI. thanks !
ok thanks anyway it's a great render engine, I'd like to try it, its truly amazing and user friendly! I'm just wondering about the computer specs! 4x 1080Ti must have a crazy motherboard for it! hope you could share the computer specs! thanks in advance!
Great work and thanks for sharing! How did you do the carpet in the rendered image...3dsmax hair fur does not work with fstorm? And is that guy a render people or Anima? Thanks again.
thanks a lot for sharing this video, but I have a question, the materials for me are all black and can not be seen neither able to assign to the objects, I have also the RT window completely empty, can you help me please what can be the reason?
Hi guys I'm thinking about to buy a licence of Fstorm render. My hardware in this moment is only two Gtx 1070 Ti. My question is: does it enough for a beginner like me? Thanks in advance!
Johannes, I have a 1080ti; is a good idea to buy a rx 480 for the material editor and windows or fstorm dont recognized them (amd) even for that function (not to render)?
It has a built-in converter which is actually very good. It doesn't always convert 1:1 but in my experience, FStorm converts materials better than all other renderers I've tried.
and another question... how do you achive the 10.2gb ram with an Ti? i have the same setup but didnt get as much as 8.27gb on a windows 10 machine ....:-( any ideas why?
Is there any news of the ongoing legal proceedings? It's been quite a while now and it seemed that Fstorm had a solid defence based on forum posts of the same. I'm sure there's a lot of people waiting for Fstorm to be available again.
26:50 Did I get this right? Roughness also changes like reflectivity with a fresnel falloff? This is completely new to me. A great many thanks for that hint, going to investigate on this further :P
You can check out raphael rau's videos on materials in an octane for c4D tutorial, it's quite interesting :) But yes roughness gets less rough on the edges!
Do you mean this one? ua-cam.com/video/k95JL3GH9lQ/v-deo.html Because I think I have seen all other videos by or with Raphael. Maybe I have missed that particular Info in one of his other videos as it only is one sentence which can be lost even in a short 20min tutorial ...
Hmm I might haved mixed it up with another video, I checked the one I thought of on youtube and it's not that one either, must have been during the "Cinema4D Advanced Production Techniques 2" videos where he talks in depth about the physics of material, the videos are not free unfortunately (unless you find it somewhere) but worth checking out even if you don't use c4D :)
Awesome, thanks for sharing the link @Stefan :) And yes I am also working with #C4D ua-cam.com/video/GWeUZqVfzVU/v-deo.html But I am still learning Octane ...
Jenish Kanani like comparing the differences between Samsung phones and iPhone. They fill the same purpose, they do the same job, they just do it differently. Making a direct comparison between them would take a long time to write. :) in the end I just feel it has more to do with what you're comfortable with rather than technical differences. I like fstorm because I can work more like a real photographer compared to vray where I feel I must be a technician.
It would be nice if there was something this for blender. There is octane and this is very similar, but the free octane limits GPU use, and the enterprise octane is very expensive. One could change over to 3d max, but that means learn a whole new package, which is also on it's own quite expensive. One spends more time flirting with different engines, I almost forget to do some actual art.
Please, is there any way i can obtain the installer for this render engine? I have been trying to obtain it for weeks and no luck. No one in the fstorm group would respond at this request and i see lots of people still using it. Thank you very much!
Thank you very much! However, not shooting HDR is not the same as shooting overexposed. When exposing a camera for interior shots, it's perfectly natural that the exterior in windows, and direct sunlight, gets burnt out. Happens in every real-life camera. Or did I misunderstand you? :-)
Hey man, really amazing renderings. Thank you. Can I get F-Storm installer as well? Thanks in advance. (slavi.hristozov(at)gmail.com). Thank you in advance.
Yohanes Wisnu Siregar yes, fstorm has a built in converter that converts corona very well. It's not always perfect but usually obly requires minor tweaks to get it right.
Best basic beginners tuorial ever, yes please do more of them we definitely need them :) this is the one who helped me the most ^^ i am a patreon, your renders are the definition of photorealistic render.
WOW after this i bought a subscription! I was using Octane Render but now these times are over haha. Thank you man very good tutorial or overview
Great tutorial! Thanks. I love Fstorm and I thought many times about leaving corona to use it fully. Great work mate! keep it up! always a pleasure to watch and see your content.
make tutorial about lighting and post production
Thanks. Any exterior tutorial for Fstorm? Thanks
What is difference between soft12 and soft20??
Why doesn't the temperature option appear on my white balance tab?
You're the best, I love your style! Thanks so much for taking the time :D
I love your comment, thank you so much for writing it :D
What pc configuration are you using for this video. Can you tell me how approximately takes to render get finished render with fstorm, and your pc config?

Hi, Johannes, thanks for sharing. May I ask where can I get the FStorm Render? I cannot find it even on the FStorm website. Thanks.
Hi masters, how to enable denoiser and maybe nvidia ai denoiser in Fstorm ?
I love your intro and music! :)
What's the difference between translucency and volume?
Hello, Which one is more better between Fstrom and Corona? And why
@22:59 I want to point out, how would you match your sun(highlight area) of the HDRI to correctly match the fstrom sun direction? does the check box of the direct lighting enable work? because you would always want to have the sun shines correctly corresponding to the HDRI. thanks !
well, vray find and bind is the script for vray...
I have no solution for that sadly, since I never use fstorm sun. :-)
ok thanks anyway it's a great render engine, I'd like to try it, its truly amazing and user friendly! I'm just wondering about the computer specs! 4x 1080Ti must have a crazy motherboard for it! hope you could share the computer specs! thanks in advance!
Thank You! (Brazillian here ♥)
Mas olha só, vizinha aqui^-^.
What have you done for lighting here by the time you open the scene and start the video? Is it a simple FStormSun or do you have only a HDRI?
Great work and thanks for sharing Johannes. Is there a way to convert Vray or Corona scene into Fstorm?
Great work and thanks for sharing! How did you do the carpet in the rendered image...3dsmax hair fur does not work with fstorm? And is that guy a render people or Anima? Thanks again.
Carpet is instanced geo, Human Alloy people
You should zoom in when capturing a small window..
tell me something if we put hdri at enviroment then we dont need the fstormsun?
this is awesome a very good tutorial easy to understand ..... can i know where can i download or get the installer ?
you did amazing job.
were is second part?
thanks a lot for sharing this video, but I have a question, the materials for me are all black and can not be seen neither able to assign to the objects, I have also the RT window completely empty, can you help me please what can be the reason?
parisa emami69 what graphics card and drivers are you using? :)
I have NVIDIA GEFORCE 720M
Direct X runtime versione: 12.0
Driver version: 353.54
parisa emami69 i have a feeling that that's not supported. Besides, it also only has 192 Cuda cores so rendering would be super slow. :/
ok, :/ thank you so much Johannes
How to have Fstorm? Where to find it?
Hi guys I'm thinking about to buy a licence of Fstorm render. My hardware in this moment is only two Gtx 1070 Ti. My question is: does it enough for a beginner like me? Thanks in advance!
My graphic card is nvidia geforce gtx 1050 ti 4gb. Is it ok for fstorm ?
Is there a Sketchup plugin version of Fstorm Render?
so what have the CG Artist to do at all in the end?
Great start up video! Looking forward to using fstorm, by the way what graphics card do you have Johannes?
What LUTs are yu using? Thanks!
Great tutorial to begin. Can you share your PC config please?
NICE, One just question : Can i Convert a Vray model, for Fstorm..? Just as the Corona Does...?
Eujemaso Projectos Angola yes, built in. In fact I feel that fstorm has the most accurate conversion I've tried so far.
can we use fstorm as baked lightmap for game engines?
Johannes, I have a 1080ti; is a good idea to buy a rx 480 for the material editor and windows or fstorm dont recognized them (amd) even for that function (not to render)?
No, Rx480 will not work with FStorm, Nvidia GTX 4XX and up only
Does it support vray or corona materials?
It has a built-in converter which is actually very good. It doesn't always convert 1:1 but in my experience, FStorm converts materials better than all other renderers I've tried.
IS THE OUTSIDE IS BUILDING OR HDRI ? I NEED IT CAN U SEND ME THE LINK WERE I CAN BUY IT ?
i have nvidia geforce gtx 760 2 gb its ok to fstorm to work it ?
Ok, but slow, not ideal for interior
and another question... how do you achive the 10.2gb ram with an Ti? i have the same setup but didnt get as much as 8.27gb on a windows 10 machine ....:-( any ideas why?
Windows 8/8.1/or 7 Will give u higher VRAM overall and only if u have a1080ti which isnt being use to display, will u get 10.2gb
ok so no love for win 10?
Correct, And not for the foreseeable future either :P
Is there any news of the ongoing legal proceedings? It's been quite a while now and it seemed that Fstorm had a solid defence based on forum posts of the same. I'm sure there's a lot of people waiting for Fstorm to be available again.
guys, where can I buy or rent Fstorm software?
How can I download the program ? Please

Awesome, thanks for sharing the link @Stefan :) And yes I am also working with #C4D ua-cam.com/video/GWeUZqVfzVU/v-deo.html But I am still learning Octane ...
Sir , Can you explain difference between v ray gpu vs fstorm ?
Jenish Kanani like comparing the differences between Samsung phones and iPhone. They fill the same purpose, they do the same job, they just do it differently. Making a direct comparison between them would take a long time to write. :) in the end I just feel it has more to do with what you're comfortable with rather than technical differences. What about vram? Does it added together?
Only if you have GPU's with NV-Link, for example RTX 2080 (max 2 bridged), V100 or something. For currently abailable consumer cards, no.
amazing!!
thank you my friend..we need more we are fstorm junkies
sir do you think Fstorm is better that Vray ?
Not an Fstorm user but great video anyway. I the background noise cutting in and out due to editing? Spectroom appearance soon with Ronan maybe?

thank you.. please record in louder volume in next videos. I have my speakers on the loudest and can barely hear it :)
missing my ti line sir.
Hi i have a question do fstorm run only on intel?
Sharon Cubillan it's not a cpu renderer so you can use whatever processor you want. For GPUS you must use Cuda enabled nvidia cards
amazing thanks a lot
Thanks Johannes!!!
How can i do caustics in Fstorm?
Alexey Juh you can't. :)
Johannes Lindqvist haha;) where it is settings?
Alexey Juh Nowhere. You can't do caustics with fstorm. :P
Johannes Lindqvist pffffff(((
Really cool!! I thought it's a picture
GREAT WORK..

i like Fstorm. i hope it comes to C4D
Does it work as stand alone?
No. not planned either, Only 3DS Max
Thank you!
Bellos renders, aunque la mayoría sobre expuestos
Thank you very much! However, not shooting HDR is not the same as shooting overexposed. When exposing a camera for interior shots, it's perfectly natural that the exterior in windows, and direct sunlight, gets burnt out. Happens in every real-life camera.

Is fstorm available again?
Can I have the installer as well ? (jacsuanz@hotmail.com)
Thanks in advance! :)
Hey man, really amazing renderings. Thank you. Can I get F-Storm installer as well? Thanks in advance. (slavi.hristozov(at)gmail.com). Thank you in advance.
Can I have the installer as well ? ( mikiarchi95@gmail.com )
Thanks in advance! :)
can i also have the installer please? i have been trying to obtain it for weeks now. shutter.zero@gmail.com Thank you very much!
it would be nice if i could have the renderer too...it's still not available from the website....( office@pixellabs.at )
Can i render use fstrom but from corona scene ?
Yohanes Wisnu Siregar yes, fstorm has a built in converter that converts corona very well. It's not always perfect but usually obly requires minor tweaks to get it right.
@@TextureSupply must download plugin fstrom converter or not ?
thank you for the video
thank you a lots
thank it's helpful!
Thanks a lot Boss
looks like octane

use and love Octane
thankyou
I procrastinated for 6 years
