Superb.
Incredible purity of sound. One of the best performances of this stunning works I've ever heard.
Ethereal and a lovely tribute to a friend who has passed. Thank you.
Sitting here having just been listening to "Gloria in Excelsis Deo" Kings College, in preparation for singing at at mid-night mass 2016. So my 95 year old mother-in-law sitting with me asks "who was Thomas Weelkes. I find his Wikipedia entry and read it aloud. Then I search UA-cam for "A Remembrance of my Friend Thomas Morley," and here we are listening to this magnificent singing. My grandparents who died in the 50's just would not believe what we are now so privileged to experience. through the wonder of the internet. Thank you Vox Luminis - unforgetable.
Magnificent! Uplifting! The recordings of Vox Luminis are beautifully done, but there is something special about listening and watching the musicians SING!
What a lovely way to discover this piece. Beautiful work!
Fantastic performance.
Sublime! Superb ensemble. Thank you for this.
Wonderful, clap clap!
Wonderful music (as Byrd or Sweelinck) and very beautiful interpretation!
Death hath deprived me of my dearest friend,
My dearest friend is dead and laid in grave,
In grave he rests until the world shall end
As end must all things have.
All things must have an end that Nature wrought,
Must unto dust be brought.
belle chaleur des voix ! (les musiciens semblent, par contre, frigorifiés)
The conductor guy is weird - but oh god what a sound they make...
It may LOOK weird but after a few times watching I think he is spot on.
btw. It looks like that the church is very cold , sweaters shawls and coats. Heartwarming sound however.
Two people don't like this!? Do they have a soul?
