I just picked up a used axe pro and when I put the spring on the bolt, it doesn't snap into place no matter which end of the spring I use. Does that mean my bolt or spring is worn?
I got the Virtue V6 lube, was recommended to me, but ever since I started using it, I have had a bunch of problems like bolt stick. Do you have any recommendations on what "specific" lube to use? I would ultimately like to get my hands on the original stuff that it comes with, but I ran out of that. To me, it worked the best.
If it's Dow 33 based it should be fine, Eclipse Grease for example is equivalent. I guess if you want to be all official pick up some Empire/Smart Parts Sl33k lubricant which is just Dow 33 repackaged.
TheBroz Ok thanks. That Virtue stuff I got, I asked them by email and they told me it was Dow 33 but it didn't work properly in my gun. I got Hatter Sauce. Works so far. Haven't had much time to use it to make sure. Other Axe users said it worked perfectly.
Damn mistype, damn UA-cam for not letting you edit comments on mobile, grr. Anyway, I was meant to say: Thanks Jamie for posting this, it's mostly simple stuff but it's always good to see official tech videos instead of having to trawl badly produced user content. Would you recommend against lubing the o-rings on the rear of the engine as they aren't moving parts? Also this seems to confirm that there's no need to lube the poppet face, I thought you would as it's a moving seal or should I just keep that dry and clean as shown here?
Do not lube the poppet face. That may cause issues. It doesn't slide on anything and doesn't need lube. You can lube the large bolt guide o-rings if you are having trouble installing and uninstalling the bolt system but it is not needed. - Jamie
I have a quick question I just recently rebuilt my poppet valves and noticed one side of the popper valves spring is larger than the other side not sure what side goes in what direction I currently have the larger side of the spring facing the back cap
I can't see if anyone has helped you on this issue ...prob have by now but if not...the smaller side should "click" into the bolt so it should be facing the back cap ..the larger side is what goes up against the breach wall, I see you asked on another of someone else's video so ..yeah anymore q's feel free to ask since I see no replies here ..lol
I keep my bolt greased and I still have to use a tool to pry the bolt group out of the back. Anyone know of a solution? Only problem I have with my axe but really annoying when I scratch the anno trying to take good care of my equipment.
I clean and re-lube my o-rings and bolt after every time. I notice that there's always some kind of fuzz that kinda builds up on the first o-ring. Anyone have any idea what it may be?
Press F to pay respects for that gnarly voice crack at the beginning
Thank you very much extremely helpful
Thanks for this video! Just picked up an Axe and am excited to get on the field with it. This vid is most helpful so I know how to maintain it.
nice and clear video, good job...
What rear grip can I use to replace the original one on the empire axe

Dow 33
Yes, but brand is what I'm looking for.

But nah, I was thinking the same thing. But only for a second. 😏
is it a problem if i lose the spring from the poppet? (the little one)
+Sebastian F. probably, as it powers the bolt, order a parts kit for the axe and it will come with the spring and more spares.
Yea you need a new one. Make sure you put it in straight.
