Tele was a tele and Strat was a Strat both doing their thing. Until it got pushed then the Strat stayed where it was and the tele roared. Great fun Allan. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇺🇸🎸

Agree 100%. Now I know why the bridge pickup punches like it does!

Lol - no that was just a joke! I can do my own light maintenance but I don’t enjoy it! Earle Teat has a guy that I might use to get rid of some fret buzz on a 339 I have.

I love you for your pink parts! I said it, and I’m not ashamed. Seriously, that thing sounds killer. I like the idea of comparing the same pickups in two different guitars. When you started, I said “they sound the same”. But with harder playing, the tele really pulled ahead. The Texas Specials really fit it well. You can’t go wrong with a gold strat, but I’d have to hear some more to make up my mind. Maybe through a Vox or a chimey Fender. They definitely do sound different! Very interesting!

The pickups aren't really the same as you discovered. I believe the sound differences were mostly the pickups. Maybe I'm nuts, but I suspect Fender tweaked the Tele set to "sound like a Tele", and the Strat set to "sound like a Strat". Still there was no drastic difference. I do appreciate this kind of comparison video. Thanks!

Thanks Allan! I still think another factor is fixed bridge in the Tele but I think you’re likely correct! Have a mediocre weekend! 😜🤘🏻

The tele pickup has a different angle and construction. Also the bridge itself has something to do with the magnetic field.

I'm so old I'm still trying to remember why B&E have no flats or sharps. Tele equals warm and Strat equals twang. I think I got it. I wanna try your bending technique. Man that was painful, actually the entire video but no biggie. I'm a new fan to your channel

@@GearGasms thanks Alan much appreciated. Glad to be here, enjoy your content, personality, clothing, set backdrop, and even hair color and style. The similarities are uncanny down to memory loss recalling riffs. I enjoy GearGasms more than the traditional ones I enjoyed in my youth. I'm SOL starting a UA-cam channel. You've got it!

I have a 96 USA Strat with Texas thing's in it. Works well for me in the studio and live.. Don't really tinker much so if it works it's good😁. The Tele was darker sounding to me and the strat a tad more spongy. That's my worthless opinion. Best laugh of the week.

    • @GearGasms

No your opinion has much worth! It’s at least neck and neck with myrrh! The Tele bridge pickup always hit harder to me and now I know why! Have a mediocre weekend! 😜

UA-cam Sherman Robertson and Gary Shaw. 93 I recall. Had a Levinson Blade. Really nice, expensive with active stuff going on. However without that it sounded pretty lame so I sold it.😳

First there nothing special about Texas😝. Well I am a strat person. Not a Tele-phone person. I don’t care much for those pickups. I have Custom Shop fat 60’s in one and really love those just has that Strat sound. In my opinion, but you know what they say about!!

Texas has a lot that is special - Twin Peaks! If you’ve ever been, you know lol. I lived in Austin for a year and have been in the Dallas area on business a lot and I like those two areas. Cowboys suck tho!

The strat sounds cleaner and more subtle. The tele is in your face and spanky. With gain the tele sounds better. I found a strat gets lost in the mix, while a tele stands out.

One sounded like a stratocaster, the other sounded like a telecaster, both sounded great. Being hotter output pickups, TS pack a midrange punch, although not as much clarity and sparkle as lower wind coils. If I had to have one of those two guitars to play forever in hell, it would be the telecaster, but if I was in heaven.............?

I always thought the strat was more “rock and roll” and tele was more “country”…until I finally got and played a tele… man the bridge in a tele sounds great over-driven to me. Strats pretty much stay in neck position for me, unless of course it has an HSS configuration, then I might go down to the bridge for some meanness. Nice video man. Also nice flaming penis logo on your shirt - I keed, I keed. Celebrate mediocrity.
