They look great, are built great and come with fantastic accessories... But the sound quality isn't as good as a pair of $200+ headphones should be. They're mostly more of a statement rather than professional sounding headphones. No offence...

Luis Maiocchi you can by getting a projector, get a big ass foldable screen and show it at the cafeteria. Also make a timeline and a date to print out some papers and stick it anywhere to know about your presentation
Beats have way better style, better customer support, easier to use, are wireless and didn’t require browsing for 200 hours+ of headphone reviews to find a solid pair. Plus, Beats solos sound pretty good - this is coming from a Bowers and Wilkins P5/PX user

Exetic Fair enough, point made, you win ;) UrAverageConsumer has stated on many occasions that he is a big 'bass fan,' and thus leans towards headphones that deliver on that. I myself am much the same, while liking the ability change that at any time, so I suppose I am biased. As such, my daily drivers are the Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro's which have a slider on both cups to adjust the sound signature, from analytical through to 20dB bass boost. What are yours?

that's cuz LinusTechTips isn't a single UA-camr. They produce so much content, they're like a TV channel. It would overwhelm the video with everyone at LMG giving their opinion.
The also are kind of snobs and don't like to do collaboration/joint videos, they produce great content but they don't work with anyone who isn't in the company.

I use the ATH-m50s as well and I gotta agree that after a while it does start to hurt my ears, I thought I was the only one with this problem since I have a big head lol. But I'll probably look into swapping the ear cups for yours as well. Thanks Ed!
Most definitely, Audio Technica has always produced amazing sound quality. They're commonly used for professional studio recording but it can also be great for everyday use.
bought a pair of valour earpads a year ago for my m50s and my god i love em now. found a pair that fit on the m50s but also cup your ear (rest around your ear not on them) definitely worth the 20bucks i spent on em as now I can wear them for 8 hours straight with no problem

Honestly, the ATH--M50x are extremely overrated. Try Sennheiser or grado
m50x's are some of the most overhyped headphones on the market, theyre mostly used for sound design because the frequency responce isnt tailored to music or gaming, the 40X's with a set of ZMF cowhide pads are still cheaper than the M50's and are a night and day difference of superior

Went straight to yours upon searching for “best gaming headphones for UA-cam” - I loved the concept of incorporating other UA-camr’s reviews of their headphones & I love how short & to the point each one was - it was like watching several review videos in a matter of a few minutes, very convenient! Also love how you left everyone’s links in order of appearance along with a list of the headphones they use that leads directly to Amazon! Open back headphones = Use these only in your house or room and only when no one is around
Closed back headphones = Better for public use, but only if they don't leak much sound and block out a lot of noise like the ATH m__x ones do
BTW I like the m40x better because my ears are sensitive and they do not have as much bass as the m50xs

Actually, I found a headset for only 35€ in europe which have the best audio quality for that price (and even higher, to the price range of 70€), they are really comfy to wear even if used in long times, have a great microphone which is adjustable and can be turned off with a simple flick to the back of your head. They are also really light weighted, and come with a circle to adjust volume. They can also be adjustable, so they are for the size of any head and the sound quality is amazing. I am talking about the HyperX Cloud Drones, which are pretty much the best headphones under the 50€ mark and also are certainly better than most of the 70€ headsets. Of course, you could get the cloud 1's, which are priced around 70€, but the drones are the best budget headsets I have seen in years (of testing).

M50x: supposed to be monitoring headphone with little bit all round taste.
The Beyerdynamic DT 880 Pros will be remembered as a classic studio headphone of this era. They're flat enough for mixing orchestral and film, and can adapt to just about anything else. Most excellent for tracking in all but the most isolated of situations. At the same time they manage to be instantly pleasing to listen to. No ear fatigue after long sessions. And they're so comfortable the first time you put them on. IMO, they're sort of the NS-10s of this era except they're actually enjoyable to listen to. Practically a miracle at $280. Not to mention their M 160 ribbon mic hangs with the Royer R-121 at half the price. Pair it with a 57 or a 421 on a guitar amp cabinet. Another classic.

oh, and at the price range that the hd800 are at, almost any other pair of headphones are better.
Mournforthelost96 they are some of the best headphones every made.There are headphones that cost 4 times as much but sound worse. You don't know anything about audio.
In the headphone industry's current state you can't use price to assume anything about headphones, price means nothing anymore, it's gone off the rails into batshit insanely high figures none of them could ever possibly hope to justify. The HD800 (non S, the HD800S isn't good) with the super dupont resonator mod, and a well matched amp like the Audio-GD NFB-1AMP is the best you can get in many areas until the Focal Utopia. A lot of the new extremely expensive headphones are junk, and truthfully there are very few headphones worth your time at any price range, new or old.
My current list of gems is: Sony MDR-V6 (with velour pads), Stax SR-L700 (with a not crap amp), Etymotic ER-4S (with yellow filters), Sennheiser HD800 SDR modded, Stax SR-007mkI, and the Focal Utopia. Everything on that list is an embarrassingly huge step above the rest in every category. (there may be others I haven't found/don't know about) Companies seem to be treating headphone R&D like it's an unknowable arcane process, throwing things at the wall and seeing what sticks. Let's just say it's not a good sign that almost no headphones have any sort of damping material in their cups, even though every headphone could benefit from it. (and thus the importance of modding your headphones)
the HD800's arent bad at all, but for my ears i prefer the sound of my T5p's and LCD-2's, for professional sound engineering the 800's are god tier
HD800 stomps the 800S in bass. 800S have more second order harmonic distortion in the bass, and it's not as tight, punchy, textured, or well-defined. Modded HD800 does everything the 800S do well, and have bass that no mod can give the 800S.

My recommended Headphones would be any of the 3 Sennheiser HD500 series, be it the 518, 558, 598 or now i guess the newer models of all three of those the HD559, 579,599 which are all just more updated versions of the others, they also have released a new HD500 series closed back version, the 569 which I'm skeptical of as i prefer open back for its sound rather then closed but maybe you want closed, i would say go in to your local audio store and find out if you can test them before buying.
All up this range of headphones are all well priced, great sound, great quality and amazing bang for your buck plus spare parts are easy to order, ear pads are easy to replace or swap between models and the cables come in different lengths and can be replaced.
I have 598's, they sound great and are super comfortable. I forget im wearing them all the time

My favorite headphones are the skullcandy crushers because they are one of the best noise cancelling headphones I've tried and they have adjustable bass that can be adjusted so the bass isn't overpowering. Besides, for 60$ you're getting an awesome deal.

Um well, Beats are $200 fashion statements, and the M50x offer a mostly flat audio response and good soundstage. So there's really no comparison.

I have the Sony MDR 100ABN and they rock ! they're awesome for casual use , have almost 0 sound leak and perfection isolation ! highly recommend them !
