This video is probably the best video on UA-cam regarding this tarp shelter. It amazes me that there aren't many more videos about it. When you look at other tarps that sell from anywhere between $100-$300 WITHOUT the poles, you can see why this tarp stands out among those. I just bought this tarp today, and hope to take it to a local park to set up and give it a good look. This video helped a lot in choosing this tarp, because of the items included, setup and price. Thank you for taking the time and showing us what it's all about.
You made me smile/laugh…you have instructions/directions in your pocket!!
Was so glad to see you finally check that out!
Thats awesome.. I was thinking that exact same set up when i get mine going.. But it's so cool having a visual of it..great idea
Just got one. This was very helpful thanks! 👍
Thanks for the video! Just picked one up for a camping trip that calls for rain. Now that I've seen you do this I feel a bit more confident, plus I have 3 little helpers who can assist! :)
When my dad and I go together he has basically the same setup. Enough room for camp table to cook and eat and clean up at. Works great every time!
Great one man job! Thank you for sharing.
Just got this and was trying to figure out how set this up, great video man
Same set up for my Jeep brother! Cheap & easy Gem of a set up
I’ve been eyeballing those. I think I’ll be grabbing one. Thanks!
Definitely worth $40!
It's a joy, your videos are always interesting
Thanks!
I have the same one .it works great. Nice to have when u need it
Greetings, I just bought this tarp for $13.95 at my local Walmart on clearance. And believe I'm going to enjoy my new tarp...
Great video! I've been thinking about grabbing one of those for a awning off my truck camper!
Thanks for watching!
That’s better than screwing with regular tarps like I’ve been doing. I’m gonna pick one up. Thanks dude! 👍🏻
I hope it works great for you!
I have that setup being delivered today actually. Cabelas has adjustable poles but they aren't cheap. I happen to have old sets of Coleman adjustable poles that I used for poly tarp rigs, I was just wanting to upgrade to something that was less noisy in the breezes...
Keep up the great work
Thanks!
That was a good setup especially in the wind. I would have been losing my mind on the setup.
It wasn't to bad, just stake the tarp down before you start!
cool video man!!
Thanks!
As a long time user of hammocks and tarps, I'd strongly recommend getting line attachments called Line-locs. They'll allow you to shorten/tighten up the line easily once they're staked out. Nice setup! P.s. you can get adjustable poles from Amazon/Ebay/online. Stansport has some, and they're not very expensive. You may even be able to use the pole feet with them.
There are some plastic line tensioner on these, I should have showed them better. I'll take a look at some better ones though!
Hey Quady, been here since the start. From experience the corners of the topper door are tough on the sil-ny in the wind. If think about carrying a piece of pool noodle.cut down the.middle to push onto the window lip. Happy camping, keep them up. ND Strong.
Thanks for the support, I'll find something I can keep in the rig for that!

I just did the same thing... (haven't set mine up yet) but video was most helpful. thanks
Thanks for watching!
Great idea I will order one thanks
Thanks for watching!
It's a little bit of work but def worth it. Good vid.
Thanks!
I wonder if those bags could be filled with sand for areas where a stake wouldn't hold or even for more support
that's what i was thinking as well
I think you guys are spot on, the thought of doing that never crossed my mind
Or place a rock in or on top of the bag.
@Rowen Karsyn I'm going to have to look into that. (Insert sarcasm)Thank you for the tip Rowen
Sure is a nice solution so you can sit outside in the sun or the rain, a small camping chair and table, so cozy :o)
I usually carry a 10x10 pop-up. Packaging is a little bigger than what you got, but I just thought of my nylon, or whatever light weight cloth, back packing tarp. Probably just get a few 6-7’ closet poles and some para-cord . Could be much more compact.
I carried a pop up just like that for awhile, I got tired of the big bag!
I'd consider adding tie downs to the bottom front of the tarp to the truck wheel wells. That way the tarp wraps around the truck and topper more tightly.
P.S. It will be interesting to see next year how your tarp set up works when you have the boat hooked up.
Great idea, that would probably help well against some sideways rain!
@@CrazyQuady I was thinking more about high wind situations and having the tarp get ripped off the truck but you're right, it would also help with wind driven rain.
Super worth price
No need to fasten to the truck. Just guy it tight. If you want the back lower, put the poles up front. This also makes for a good tarp shelter with a Ridgeline or trekking poles.
You got it. Let me add this sets up in a marvels 'barn door' configuration with a marble tied into each side wall to add guy-out point. Great for hammock use. Tarps are much easier than tents to deal with in foul weather; easier in and out, no worries tracking dirt in.
Slumberjack roadhouse tarp. You will not be disappointed.
I'll check it out!
You could get some pool nodules for your truck camper door
I plan on it
What’s your suspension specs? truck looks good!
Thanks! 5 inch Rough Country suspension, 1.5 zone body lift, 295-70r18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers
Try a diamond setup. Use only one pole
I just bought this and have been trying to figure out what the silver parts are for. Any help??
The silver stakes? I believe they're for staking the poles down if necessary
I could be wrong, but I believe those bags are meant to be weighted.
I think you're right!
The red bags are sand bags
Not sure about this one bro. Some times cheap is just that. Great honest set up review though.
try it in a diamond configuration.
I'll give it a try!
Where did you get those fender flares?
They are Bushwacker Street Flares if I remember correctly
Can you put sand in each red bag?
I think you are right there Rita. Or rocks if on rocky ground. Definitely wouldnt need a large bag like that to hold a small bit of cord.
I'm sure you could, I didn't even think of that
Great music choice.
Thanks!
I'm like really cautious of anything with Ozark Trail written on it. My experience is, that it's junk. Not only is it cheap, I usually have to replace it, but if it works for you, great. Thanks for the video.
How much rain do you get in the back if you leave the topper door open?
Alot without a trap, it runs right down the window and drips inside
Guide gear catalog....nuff said.
I'll have to check it out
Hope you didn’t pay a whole lot for a system you need to glue together and seam seal.
HMMM..............The rain will be the real test ................
I think it will work ok, its made of tent material so it should shed water fairly well
Those are sand bags.
Oh damn that would of frustrated me...
It wasn't that hard!
Sandbags....
I'm honestly surprised how many have people have told me that, I can't believe I didn't know 🤣
I hope a didnt sound distespectful...i didnt mean to.there im building out a similar truck/shell set up to try.i watch your channel for tips n insights...i apologize if it seemed distespectful.
Not at all, no worries!
The bags are sand bags to help weigh it down.
Instructions? Who needs any instructions?
Well I've never claimed to be smart 😂
Hola amigo, I like you background music in this vid, is this a cuervo negro track, it kind sounds familiar to his tracks
That knife..... yikes
😂 safety third right?
