    This video is probably the best video on UA-cam regarding this tarp shelter. It amazes me that there aren't many more videos about it. When you look at other tarps that sell from anywhere between $100-$300 WITHOUT the poles, you can see why this tarp stands out among those. I just bought this tarp today, and hope to take it to a local park to set up and give it a good look. This video helped a lot in choosing this tarp, because of the items included, setup and price. Thank you for taking the time and showing us what it's all about.

    Thanks for the video! Just picked one up for a camping trip that calls for rain. Now that I've seen you do this I feel a bit more confident, plus I have 3 little helpers who can assist! :)

    When my dad and I go together he has basically the same setup. Enough room for camp table to cook and eat and clean up at. Works great every time!

    I have that setup being delivered today actually. Cabelas has adjustable poles but they aren't cheap. I happen to have old sets of Coleman adjustable poles that I used for poly tarp rigs, I was just wanting to upgrade to something that was less noisy in the breezes...

    As a long time user of hammocks and tarps, I'd strongly recommend getting line attachments called Line-locs. They'll allow you to shorten/tighten up the line easily once they're staked out. Nice setup! P.s. you can get adjustable poles from Amazon/Ebay/online. Stansport has some, and they're not very expensive. You may even be able to use the pole feet with them.

      There are some plastic line tensioner on these, I should have showed them better. I'll take a look at some better ones though!

    Hey Quady, been here since the start. From experience the corners of the topper door are tough on the sil-ny in the wind. If think about carrying a piece of pool noodle.cut down the.middle to push onto the window lip. Happy camping, keep them up. ND Strong.

    I usually carry a 10x10 pop-up. Packaging is a little bigger than what you got, but I just thought of my nylon, or whatever light weight cloth, back packing tarp. Probably just get a few 6-7’ closet poles and some para-cord . Could be much more compact.

    • @CrazyQuady
      @CrazyQuady  3 роки тому

      I carried a pop up just like that for awhile, I got tired of the big bag!

  • @thelonesomefisherman7425

    I'd consider adding tie downs to the bottom front of the tarp to the truck wheel wells. That way the tarp wraps around the truck and topper more tightly.

    • @thelonesomefisherman7425
      @thelonesomefisherman7425 3 роки тому

      P.S. It will be interesting to see next year how your tarp set up works when you have the boat hooked up.

    • @CrazyQuady
      @CrazyQuady  3 роки тому +1

      Great idea, that would probably help well against some sideways rain!

    • @thelonesomefisherman7425
      @thelonesomefisherman7425 3 роки тому

      @@CrazyQuady I was thinking more about high wind situations and having the tarp get ripped off the truck but you're right, it would also help with wind driven rain.

    No need to fasten to the truck. Just guy it tight. If you want the back lower, put the poles up front. This also makes for a good tarp shelter with a Ridgeline or trekking poles.

    • @lancer5535
      @lancer5535 Рік тому

      You got it. Let me add this sets up in a marvels 'barn door' configuration with a marble tied into each side wall to add guy-out point. Great for hammock use. Tarps are much easier than tents to deal with in foul weather; easier in and out, no worries tracking dirt in.

    I'm like really cautious of anything with Ozark Trail written on it. My experience is, that it's junk. Not only is it cheap, I usually have to replace it, but if it works for you, great. Thanks for the video.
