Yup, vocals fill so much rhythmic and melodic space that any simple beat can become dynamic
theres a lot of huge songs where the producer didn't even think the beat was special and it took the artist getting on it to make it special

Yeah and it’s really really tempting to flex as a producer and fill up the beat, but it’s so important to leave that stuff until after the vocals, then it’s reallly clear when to / not to go there with it
Producing is like making something out of legos, you can always change it up and add something else, but when the vocals come it to glue everything together, it becomes a work of art.

@@weirdassmf average person can’t do it the way he does it for sure. It’s easy for someone who practices beatboxing and puts in time. Something hard means you need to put in time to reach the goal. You’re judging it based off of someone that already beatboxes. The average person 100% can’t do it.

hey bro, been watching your progression for a few days now and youre picking it faster than you give yourself credit for. just subscribed, keep it up my guy. last video you said it felt like youre getting worse with each time, but its actually the opposite. just gotta try and figure out the 808s and matching it with the melody. if you had a midi keyboard you could just play it and go by ear. dont know if youll see this but keep at it.

@@mytw1zzy I mean i have watched nick mira myself and all he taught me was how to use FL efficiently and properly. Kenny does not even use FL and has admitted to knowing basically nothing about it.
I am by no means saying kenny is a bad teacher either. I am talking about poke and his closer friends who are usually with him while he is making a beat and they typically never tell him when he is doing something properly or not. It's just very bad practice and will eventually create bad habits. Like the other commenter said, he has been making the exact same mistakes since the beginning.

imo, when he makes a beat he needs to turn off chat, donos and stop listening to what they say because he loses confidence. he would do so much more and so much better without some random people yelling at him at all times that its bad, and backseating
idk why he cant picture him self playing the drums when making a melody lmao. he just random clicks anything. hear it in your head then find the patterns you want.
i think a part of music is, one person says its good then another person says its also good seeing someone else said its good then sloely everyone starts sayings its good, kind of like plague invasions, you slowly infect them and one person realizes it then sloely everybody realizes it and then you initiate the process of slowly making then go through the pain for months until finally ending them
Love the ending track sound even when he messed it up it sounded like there was a koto on there or something.
U can also get a melody from splice and convert it to midi . u can steal a melody with ease , halftime is also a good start
x just needs to listen to more beats so he understands 808 placement. hes puttin them wayyy too close together and they are not the root note. other than that tho hes improving super fast
808 most def should not be all on the root note
@@lipefim huh? the first 808 should hit on the root note or else it sounds off. obviously he can play around w the 808s but a majority of them should be hitting on the root note of the chord that is currently playing.

I'm not a producer but I feel like some of his 808s come to an almost complete stop, no? I forget what the actual effect is called
@@lipefim if you are learning how to do something you should start with the basics. Most of his 808s are out of key / sound off and they don't have much bounce to them. Again he is very new and I don't expect him to be perfect, but I'm just trying to give some tips.

By the way X if u have cut itself on for the 808 u dont need to mess with the envelope of the sound at all(attack time, release time) most 808s are already set up to attack as soon as it hits so by clicking cut itself it just stops the last 808 playing and moves onto the next one playing. Not clicking cut itself but messing w release will shorten the 808 length

@@kotherrl2512 Dude he is already 10+ hours in, with kenny beats personally helping him, and he has two others + an entire chat of 60k+. There is no excuse not to know that your beat has to be the same tempo. Jesse and Poke are horrendous teachers and Kenny doesn't use fl so he can't help with a lot of things
