    I think you should just call echo , and have them send you a bar , take advantage of the 5 year warranty broski , just tell them the bar it was sold with isn't working right and it's potentially going to damage your brand new machine could be that the dealer paired the wrong bar with it .

    My husky 390 lets oil blow by all over the place. First I thought it was because I was running a stihl lightweight. Then I put sealant behind the bar plate. Neither was the issue. What seemed to be the only thing that tamed it was turning the oiler down. it was basically pushing so much oil that it was not only filling the driver channel, but actually pushing up through the chain straps and getting slung up against the top cover and falling spikes.

    I was also thinking Motoseal on the backing plate or the other hole, I was about to comment and you said it... Great minds think alike 👍 I would even try making a gasket that matches the plate on the cover side and possibly one on the case plate might show you where the oil is leaking from

    I think it's coming out the back of the oil channel at the rear of the plate.

    Most people don’t even know what sourwood is. Apparently at some point in history it was used as medicine.

    Chickanic shows Echo saws are now being partially broke in at the factory perhaps to help with emission standards.

    Interesting. Husquavarna and Echo come with Sugi Hara bars.

    I like the wipe it down with acetone and just put a little piece of blue paint tape then make a silicone plug in that hole.., I’d silicone behind the metal plate also… might want to run that bar on a different saw later…???

    Just fill the hole with JB weld and keep it on that saw

    Just decrease the bar very well and silicone the hole that needs to be blocked.

    Boedy do you think the longer break in could be deeper cross hatching in the cylinder?

    Plug the top adjustment hole . Maybe try tape so you can still flip the bar but youll have to retape it again.

    There's nothing wrong with the bar any bar will do the same thing it's doing that because your only cutting with the top of the bar use the bottom part every now and then and the problem will be solved

      I hear ya...and I'm taking mental notes. I understand the physics of what you're saying. But...no other saw has done this to me...to this level. I have since plugged the Husqvarna hole and opted for it to recieve its oil through the standard dual purpose hole that also serves as the adjustment hole. It now doesn't do the crazy oil leak thing. I think when I was pulling up, the chain would lift off the top of the bar and having the extra hole was causing a problem.

    echo is only good on pole chainsaws
    in normal chainsaws has always been garbage and will always be garbage if you give them to me, i don't want them it takes more than 20 years to make a chainsaw equivalent to the 372xp, the 7310
    with the other brands evolving to other more modern and better segments on regular chainsaws,
    for me there is only Husqvarna/Jonsered, Dolmar/Makita and Stihl
    It even looks bad and it's almost disrespectful, comparing this brand with "Echo trash"

    • @novicelumberjack
      @novicelumberjack  2 роки тому +6

      Well, we all have our opinions I guess. And I have to wonder...why? What experiences have formed this opinion in your head? To prefer Stihl or Husqvarna over Echo is perfectly understandable. But to called it "echo trash"...I have to wonder why you have such strong feelings. How many have you owned and them let you down? I swear...if the answer is "zero", I don't care what your reason is, your harsh opinion of the brand is completely invalid. Picking them up and not liking the feel...using your buddy's...watching videos...all things we use to form preferences- but to call it "echo trash"...that is absurd.

    I just used some aluminum adhesive tape to cover the oiling hole on the bar...In my case the oiling hole was higher than the mounting plate and it was losing oil through that. Love watching your videos, learning a lot here!

    As for higher quality I just don't see it .we had a 5900 hear and a 4900 both had a really crappy air filter mounting system and both saws sucked saw dust and dirt from day one. Now ive got a new stihl 261 and it has the best air filter ive seen in a long time

    A couple more tanks and then a thoughtful muffler mod. A few more tanks and a base gasket delete along with port cleanup and polish. Then, have your MIL aquire and send you a new P&C to go crazy on.

    Jb weld, or three bond the back of the channel. You're not using it anyway. Then it won't go back there. If you use three bond, you'll be able to take it out if need be.

    Merhaba iyi iş. Bu testere ülkeme gelmiyor malesef. Gelseydi cs 4510 es yerine bunu tercih ederdim. Aralarında yapısal olarak çok fark var mı? Galiba 4510 dan kurtulup bir cs 501 sx almama çok az kaldı

    • @novicelumberjack
      @novicelumberjack  2 роки тому

      The 4310 and the 4510 are COMPLETELY different. The 4510 is more for a homeowner type, and the 4310 is professional. The 501sx is an excellent saw, you will be happy.

    Very interesting video.
    Did this Sugihara bar come with it new or did you put it on?
    The saw itself is very impressive. I have a 4910 ported by Charlie Briscoe. It runs shockingly well for a 50cc saw. When. Better than my Stihl 390 and it's 4 lbs lighter. When he sent it back it ran so hard I just couldn't imagine a 50 cc saw with that much power.
    I've got a Thunder Kitten decal form you as well. I just need to put it on.
    His 3510 is even more shocking considering it's smaller size.
    Glad to see you are going to start porting saws.
    Love to see someone else with a set of picks. I've used them all my life and I'm retired.
    Love your videos. Keep up the good work.
