We made sausage a few months ago and I pressed the sausage meat out like you would biscuit dough and cut the meat with my biscuit cutter. I had seen Mrs Lori do it that on Whippoorwill Hollar and it worked great! I then laid it all out in layers on cookie sheets and flash froze before vacuum sealing. We did 92 patties that day. It's really good!

That’s a great idea! I’m going to do it that way next. Thanks!

They really are so great! I especially appreciate a lot of the tips he has in there for DIY set ups if you’re trying to cook something specific on a budget!

Having lived for a while in Idaho----close to a beef processing plant where you could literally hear the terror the cattle felt---I haven't eaten beef for at least a decade. If I could still be a vegetarian or vegan, I would. We all do what we can do and afford, so all we can ask of each other is to do the best we can and to be conscious of how we treat each other and our fellow creatures. Thank you for another excellent video and congratulations on making your own sausage. Indian food totally rocks. I miss it a lot. Cheers, Ardith

Ardith, I couldn't imagine living next to a processing plant. That would be really tough. I still have a hard time coming to terms with eating any meat at all sometimes and have developed a mindset for myself that eventually, if given the means to achieve it, I would not eat anything I can't raise and process myself. Just because I feel strongly that if I'm going to eat something, I should be able to handle every aspect of it and understand all of the work that goes into my food. Which I have often thought would lead me to being vegetarian again. When push comes to shove I'm not sure that animal processing is something I can handle, but I don't think I could live with it if I don't at least try. I'm glad you enjoyed the video and I plan to eat as much curry as I can while I can lol! That heat will eventually take a toll on my stomach I'm sure.

@@stateroutehomestead You and your husband can be proud of the goals you have set and what you are doing to achieve them. You can be proud that you are willing to at least try to make and process your own food. While you are doing so, enjoying curry (in moderation, eh?) along the way sounds grand to me. Cheers, Ardith

Hello! I know this isn’t related to this video but I remember in one of your previous videos where you bought the cheese cloth and it wasn’t the one you were looking for. I was just watching another video and she was using a flour sack towel. It reminded me of you. Not sure if that’s what you were needing but I just thought I would share in case it was. Have a great evening!

I really appreciate that, thank you so much! I ended up getting some muslin cloth which is working well but I may try flour sack towels too for the heck of it! 😃
