- With AltRider’s Variable Height Suspension Lowering Linkage, customize your suspension to either lower or raise your seat height. Lower your seat 19mm (0.74 in), 32mm (1.25 in), or raise your seat 6mm (0.24 in) or 20mm (0.78 in) from factory height.
Lower your suspension to make your Tuareg easier and more comfortable to put both feet down during stops on uneven terrain or for more confidence in traffic. If you have a shorter inseam, increase your comfort and confidence, knowing you can plant both feet on the ground. Our variable height-lowering linkage is an excellent way to improve your skill level. Set your height to where you’re comfortable and raise the height as your skill level improves!
Four adjustable heights with provided inserts, 2 lowered heights, and 2 raised heights.
Lower your seat 19mm (0.74 in), 32mm (1.25 in) from the factory
Raise your seat 6mm (0.24 in), or 20mm (0.78 in) from the factory
Seat height adjustments are etched on the inserts
Built-in UHMW plastic linkage guard to prevent damage
Precision CNC machined aircraft grade billet aluminum with anodized finish
Needle bearings with integrated dust seals to provide OEM level ingress protection
Weighs only 1.9 oz (54 grams) more than OEM linkage
Robust 6mm thick UHMW integrated linkage guard to protect the lower shock mount (removable with 3x M6 flush-mounted fasteners). The only offering with a built-in plastic guard doesn’t transfer impact like other rigid guards and won’t snag like aluminum will.
Adjustments are made with inserts that have the seat height setting laser etched on them. Each insert has 2 different holes and can rotated two different ways for a total of four different ride heights. The inserts have the seat height adjustments etched on the inserts.
OEM grade needle bearings with integrated dust seals to provide OEM level ingress protection
Pair the Variable Suspension Links with the innovative AltRider Adjustable Aluminum Side Stand for the Tuareg and always have a reliable and sturdy kickstand, no matter how your suspension height is set.

Just installed the alt-rider lowering kit 32mm lower in the rear and for now the forks @ the 3rd ring as in the pic. I previously had the alt-rider adjustable stand for the Idaho BDR raised 1 inch- so I took it back to the “stock” markings on the strand.
Initial impressions - heck a lot of easier moving the bike around and much better ground reach for my short 29-30 inch inseam. I can be on the balls of both feet and easily slide to flat foot one side in stop lights. Ran it on the freeways and local tarmac - no dirt yet. The bike seems to turn a bit sharper but haven’t had any freeway wobble or front end looseness at speed. I may or may not be playing with final front fork tubes position/setting but would like to test the setup in dirt.
Thanks for the good product.
That's awesome!
I'm 170cm rider now I got my solution ~~nice product
I think you'll appreciate the versatility

Hi,
Do you give for each rear height, the set up of the front link ?
@@ismailskalli5155 The install video will be posted in a few days!
What is your inseam?
31 inches or 79 cm
You lower the rear 32mm and what happens to the front?
You can a suspension tuner alter ride heights for you (reversible), you can pull the fork tubes through the triple tree a reasonable but complimentary amount to bring the rake angle into position, you may find the front handles similarly and no further adjustments need to be made.
@@AltRiderLLC hi, thanks. Can you pull them out 32mm as the rear?
@c.g.c2067 we'd recommend starting with a 10mm drop, noting how the bike feels on asphalt, if it turns too slow at only a 10mm drop, adjust it to a 15mm drop after that because 2mm will make a big difference based on front end ride height and travel for an experienced rider, for an average rider, making the dog bones longer, gives the rear shock more leverage, so even though the bike is lower, the rear shock will have a slight mechanical advantage, so the drop on the front then doesn't have to be as much because the rear is now more "compliant" so for "feeling" we recommend a little testing and figuring out what you want and need from your suspension and riding style. Raising the front, or lowering the rear will adjust the front forks steering head angle. And why a small adjustment at the front may make up for the small amount of squat at the rear.
@@AltRiderLLC right. thanks for advise.
