Devon cheating was not only terrible for the team balance but also shows how she isn't ready for a world national tournament. Kenny needed to go more than her.
I don't think Kenny would be a good choice either since his fighting style is pure Cobra Kai which definitely won't work against fighters trained by Kreese.

One thing that I like about this show is that every character has a flaw and/or something negative about them. I for one like Devon even more as character now. I loved her personality, but I was afraid she would become another background character.

Robby cleared a whole dojo full of Cobra kais before... Kwon did a 3v1.. Robby did like a 25v1 and that whole dojo only landed one hit... Kwon got hit multiple times.. but still that's a match I want to see!!!! Robby vs Kwon, or Miguel vs Kwon.!
Lee tainted all her hard work, but she also had earned it really...she just wasn't getting a fair shot, just as Johnny pointed out to Barnes, Barnes wasn't paying attention to her. Had Barnes been giving Lee the attention he was giving to others, she would have already secured a spot on the team. The only way the perspective on Lee changes is due to the fact that Hawk is out, if Hawk made the team over Demetri then nothing would be said about Lee making the team at all. Kenny also doesn't have more experience than Lee really, as he joined up with Cobra Kai around the same time that Lee was recruited into Eagle Fang. Kenny only has better stats than Lee because he's a Man and she's a wombman, she's got roughly the same level of skills...it's just a difference of muscles due to biology.
I actually loved this episode because it gave us more insight into Devon and Demetri’s characters. We actually saw that Demetri has some sort of resentment against Hawk for what he did to him in Seasons 2 and 3 (with the arm hold plus “how do you like it, huh?” line), and we saw how Devon’s desire for validation and fear of failure caused her to pull what she did. What they did could be considered low, and I’d agree, but in the end it was a competition and they did what they had to do to win
Hawk and Kenny would have been the stronger team. But these kids deserve a chance to fight for their right on the team. It was good what Johnny did and Barnes decision. The only issue is that the kids decided to cheat and mess up their own chances through conflict.
Lol the emphasis on the electric saw was just to get that worrysome reaction out of us during the fight, and it def worked. Fight was already intense but it added more to it, even though nothing ended up happening with it(thankfully) I'm not surprised cause if you think about it through out the show multiple times the creatiors have throwns purposely misguide us to believe one thing and than it ends up not happening just to give us that thrill haha, for example in the 1st episode when we thought Johnny was gonna re-open Cobra Kai after talking to stingray
Burt was still in the crowd but he definitely grew up a bit. Took me a sec to recognize him. Nate (Made top 12) ditched his glasses for contacts and, the two of them, unfortunately, haven't really had a lot of screen time as of late. Johnny definitely pulled focus from Devon Lee, but Mike wasn't giving her a fair shake either. My issue with Devon is that she is more concerned with gaining respect and attention for her dedication than anything else. The first time we see her she is super competitive and good at what she does. She just wants some acknowledgement, which I can't blame her for but it is also clouding her focus. I'll cover more of her later in the episode. Anthony kept stuffing flags in his Do-Gi, I have to wonder exactly how many flags he actually acquired. If there's one thing I know about this show, they don't put things on screen that don't matter. Remember Devon thinking back about Chung-Li in Bloodsport cheating??? Yeah. She just lost a handful of respect points. I can understand her motivations, but I can't condone her actions. Director Rick just reiterated what I was talking about, "They don't show anything that isn't relevant."
Devon was very passionate about this but like adorable said there will always be next year to participate but I think she was too desperate to prove her strength.
Honestly I can’t see how Miyagi-do is beating Cobra Kai, there is no way anyone in our team is beating Kwon, especially now that Kenny and Hawk ain’t going, there is no way they can make it believe Kwon losing, it’s gonna be some boring excuse for sure
Sure from a writers perspective that makes a lot of sense. It'll be Kim and her Devon having a conversation and Kim might see herself in Devon and eventually cave into caring for her. While Kreese has Tory. Theres also the fact that Tory and Devon got a long quite well and supported each other. Kenny on the other hand was a part of Terrys group and already had his story conclude. The only story worth pursuing with him is a conversation with Kreese and Kreese stirring up Kennys mind with Terrys philosophy.
I think Devon might go to cobra Kai and Kenny will take her place I really don’t want or see Tory leaving korra Kia at all she can still be good and join kreese I hope that’s the route there taking.
