The Peace Corp is a wonderful example of the beauty of humanity 🌍 ✌️🇺🇸
This was well done, thank you. Of all my friends and colleagues in schools, business and the rest of life-my Peace Corps cohort has remained most true to their high ideals and aspirations. They are the community doctors, international teachers, NASA engineers, social workers in the toughest neighborhood, and even epidemiologists when and where we need them.
RPCV Kisii, Kenya 1979-81
I admire all of these Peace Corp volunteers more than I can can say; courage, strength and a passion to make the world a better place.
Awww, she's gonna miss her village. Hopefully she can return.
I was a volunteer in Tanzania and it was crazy how fast everything escalated leading to the evacuation.
she has a nice heart , i can tell .
Under normal circumstances, C.
O.S. is difficult because of the relationships you develop, hopefully you will be able return in some capacity in the near future. RPCV '87-89.
What a powerful presentation. Thanks for sharing information that is not widely publicized.
Thank you so much for taking the time to Document your experience, , especially given that you have invested so much time in projects and personal relationships, you deserved a better ending, but must do what’s safest for you. Theres so many PC Volunteers out there who have a PC channel and never bothered to utilize it, Stay Safe !! Peace Out!!
These wonderful people, they don't want to leave their wonderul people...
Its been rough :( I was volunteering in The Gambia and only got to stay there 5 months before we got evacuated.
Stay safe! Be well.
Thanks for making this video I was wondering how the Peace Corps was getting evacuated
Peace Corps Mongolia - didn't even get to make it a year :(
These people are more worth gold than those stupid celebrities twitting how brave they are donating money to charity for fame.
On March 28th 2020 between 5 a.m. and 8:25 p.m. , (15hrs and 25 minutes) we have 507 NEW covid -19 deaths in the USA.
3/27/20 403 covid - 19 USA deaths
3/26/20 366 covid 19 USA deaths
the numbers are per day for USA.
We have got to get serious folks.

Now that I think about it nobody really cares about corona anymore
mass hysteria
Well, hope you found out that it's even more dangerous in the U.S. , than in those countries.
Probably should have stayed where you were.
We all would have loved to stay. We were forced to leave.
I was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ukraine a few years ago, and one of my fellow volunteers asked hypothetically what would happen if one of us just refused to show up when it was time to depart the country. The staff replied that the marines would be sent to find us. She didn't mean that as a joke.
As volunteers we had no choice. The problem was also that many countries were closing boarders, grounding all flights, and some even revoking VISAs of foreign nationals... PC can't have volunteers stranded or stuck in countries for many reasons but primarily because they wouldn't be able to assure the medical care that they promise to volunteers.
@@posysdogovych2065lollll. Under normal circumstances volunteers can stay in country after they complete theirservice, but they're on their own to get a new VISA/ pursue citizenship. In certain early termination circumstances volunteers can opt to "field terminate" but they lose their NCE & Coverdell benefits and have to give up their Peace Corps issued passport (with VISA) so the chances that someone would be able to legally pull that off is slim.
My thoughts EXACTLY! Much safer in Africa!!!
