Can a deck mount skylight be replaced with a curb mount? Also, if my roof is 25 to 30 feet high, and I can't get up onto it, how can I measure the size I need accurately from the inside?
Yes, a deck mount can be replaced by a curb mount, but this generally requires extra work and expense. It can be measured from inside. Measure the drywall opening right at the skylight. In your situation, it might be best to connect with an installer to do this for you. Feel free to shoot me an email, Charles.otis@velux.com. I can provide more direction if you’d like.
The parts information and the ID information are definitely exclusive to VELUX. But the measuring tip can be applied to other manufacturers. Shoot me an email, Charles.otis@velux.com and I’ll elaborate a bit more if that would be helpful.
Good to see you again here!
@@davidkim2682 thank you David,
Hello Charles. You have helped me few times with your expertise. Tons of good info on your channel. I will share videos on specialized forum. Thanks!
Thank you Hans! I appreciate your kind words and your support.
Link is in the video; would be even better if it was in your description. Tried to copy in the link, but it didn't work.
