@ Really depends on the specs of either one. 1080p gaming kinda sucks now and is outdated and I’ve never really seen screen tearing on any console I’ve had. If you want a PC of equal power to a series x or ps5 then you’re easily spending like quadruple the price. Regardless both are solid gaming experiences. I plan to get a pc of my own and max upgrade it because there’s plenty of games I’d like to play that aren’t on console and I like getting the best stuff for my gaming experience. Modding is something I’m very interested in as well and provides a lot of versatility for gaming. Modding on console is hard to do and most games don’t support it. The ones that do the mods usually suck. For a casual gaming experience I’d prefer a console but for doing things like playing pc exclusives and modding I’d like a pc for that.

Also for pcs you have to factor in that they are more then a console (you can edit make games etc) and don't require you to pay for online. You also can get a ps5 level pc for around 800$ usd.

Well even steam has an app that works on you pc even if you use a desktop i prefer to just use my monitor but you can. You can also use a Playstation or xbox controller with steam because steam is awesome.

consoles used to be practical, you put the game in and that was everything, now they are just a watered down PC, you still have to download the game, patches, and even worse sometimes they will crash (like starfield or Allan wake 2 on xbox series S) and you can do nothing about it.
Morrowind runs just fine on modern hardware, and OpenMW is an optional way to run the game with a ton of bug fixes and performance enhancements and lets you increase the view distance if you want to.

Depends on what graphics card and cpu you have. An Xbox series x for example is about as powerful as a 3080 and it came out around 2020 so it was similar power to the better PCs of the time. The problem is consoles take a while for an upgrade or new generation to release. Newer games on it now sometimes have bad optimization and can’t even run 60fps with quality mode on. Hopefully the next Xbox that comes out can easily do really good frame rates and ray tracing because most games raytracing is unplayable because it is 30fps.

I thought the same. Years ago I used to have lan parties with my friends all the time. We were 8-10 people playing games all weekend in a garage with our PCs and it was awesome! Nowadays we don't do it anymore because we all are 30+ and life happened, but I remember those times very fondly.
I'm baffled how anybody would use Morrowind as their go to game for consoles being better than PC. Not only did they straight up lie about needing to physically alter your computer to play it (it should play fine on modern systems and OpenMW is also a thing that exists), but the only console release it had was on the xbox. And iirc shortcuts had to be taken back then (at times the system would actually reboot in secret to keep within the memory constraints. Fortunately the game is playable on newer Xbox consoles, but I doubt that would provide a better experience than on PC where you can mod the game, and tbh most bethesda games kind of need mods to fix issues they have or to make them more fun.

I guess some people like to prioritize brand loyalty instead of actually having a better experience, and more options. In my opinion consoles, this generation are pretty niche, because other than a couple exclusive games, which will inevitably come to PC, there’s really just no point in spending more money in the long run for a worse experience, when you don’t need to spend that much more to beat the console in terms of performance. I am glad I switched to PC ages ago, and ngl I tried getting back into some console gaming, but couldn’t do it. It really is the case of once you see the other side you can’t go back.

In order to play Morrowind on PS5 you need to physically change it... to XBOX original 😂 Also, if the game doesn't run on a modern PC or OS like at all (which you rarely can't fix with compatibility modes), the options are the same as for playing console games on PC - use emulation.
@@Texo-ul6bg I appreciate Microsoft for supporting this feature, but even though compatible game list is big, it's far not full - it's only around 30% of X360 and 7% of XBOX games are compatible. Not to mention that most if not all of those games are no longer available for purchase (DLCs and Xbox Arcade games are gone too). On PC even the DOS games could still be bought from Steam or GOG. And if the game is not there, you can always get them... from internet)

Reliable... buddy most consoles have awful over heating issues. Hell the ps5 had to warn people not to stand it up as that can cause issues with the liquid metal.
It really is. You plug in the HDMI to the TV and your GPU, the TV detects the input, boom. It displays. MAYBE it takes a second, and MAYBE you have to open display settings to get the proper resolution, but 9.5 times out of 10 it auto detects, and sets itself to the correct resolution.
@MiaSangold man, my smart tv (Samsung Q70A) freaks tf out whenever i try doing that, sometimes it does auto-detect sure...but most of the time it freezes, or outputs the wrong resolution or it straight up does not output any image whatsoever, and when I manualy fix everything up lets say I wanna play a game that doesn't start in the same native resolution of 4k I chose (usualy max payne 3) and bam, the tv freaks tf out again and there goes my configurations along with the image, and that happens in many games where I need to change resolutions not to mention all the times I need to troubleshoot something wich is the case in a lot of pc games, it is such a hastle having to use a mouse and a keyboard (even wireless) in your counch...on console i just press the play button, I love pc gaming with all my heart but it is not plug and play on the big screen

I would say consoles are better for some instances like in terms of ease of use, friendly multiplayer, and reliability. PC is great for most forms of gaming if you are really into the hobby and understand the components, but you do encounter a lot of issues where you have to deal with troubleshooting with PC. That’s the main problem I have with PC gaming although I still use it more, but simplicity is something consoles have over PC
Consoles lag less than PC? I have a perfect example. Evil Within 1. I tried Evil within 1 on PC and it ran poorly and I thought "Jeez this port is garbage maybe on PS4 it will run better, perhaps it's just a bad PC port and the game was optimized for consoles". I tried it on PS4 and oh...my...god.....it's even worse. WAY worse i was shocked at how poorly it ran. Some areas the game ran at 10 fps!
"Better reliability" is depending on the os of your choice... most people use Windows that is nearly impossible to break, expect if microsoft does something stupid up there, but that's not the user's fault... i use Linux, an arch based distro btw, so there are times when something just doesn't want to work, because of reasons... but 95% of the time, i can easily fix the issue.
Hate to say it, but outside of Evercade, if you wabt to play games like Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain or Soul Reaver, your best bet is emulating a console version. At that point, I might as well just play it 9n the actual console

Consoles are good for people who arent gaming enthusiasts. Basically the dad who has no time to be playing with settings when he gets an hour or two to game.
You can be a gaming enthusiast with a console and have lots of games and know a lot about them and play a lot. Obviously though there’s a more limited library on console and usually don’t look as good as a pc unless it’s like a 3080 gpu. I wish the xbox and PlayStation got new generations quicker than they do. They’re perfectly fine devices for gaming but eventually games will get better and better and will still be used on the same technology so they can’t use the full potential of the game’s capabilities on console.

Biggesf problem with pc gaming is windows. If they made a xbox ui or even os on pc, like free os for people that only wanna game, there would be less issues. Or steamOs could be released for other hardwares then the steamdeck but DRM and anticheat are still sometimes an issue, might be lessen if more people had it. But windows is the thing that mostly cause issues. My dream is an xbox version of a os on pc that you could switch to desktop mode, should be a free version of windows with less windows features then windows home, so more light and streamlined

Lets just say what normal people are thinking no conole os better then pc. Technically a console is a low powered pc honestly. I have all three main consoles and even a gaming pc. At this Point im very tempted to move fully to pc because i can still use an xbox controller for most games i don't like it plugged into my tv. Then if i find a game plays better on console like stalker 2 i got game pass to play it and it definitely works better. Yeah my experience with PC game update your Intel or amd processor and graphics card play the game for 20 minutes and then take a break and come back to play the same game later on and after we download the update again and my PC died three years after I got it at least my console is still works and I should say 10 years old now and I'm sure the PC people buy new every pc years so 😂

I'm baffled how anybody would use Morrowind as their go to game for consoles being better than PC. Not only did they straight up lie about needing to physically alter your computer to play it (it should play fine on modern systems and OpenMW is also a thing that exists), but the only console release it had was on the xbox. And iirc shortcuts had to be taken back then (at times the system would actually reboot in secret to keep within the memory constraints. Fortunately the game is playable on newer Xbox consoles, but I doubt that would provide a better experience than on PC where you can mod the game, and tbh most bethesda games kind of need mods to fix issues they have or to make them more fun.

I guess some people like to prioritize brand loyalty instead of actually having a better experience, and more options. In my opinion consoles, this generation are pretty niche, because other than a couple exclusive games, which will inevitably come to PC, there’s really just no point in spending more money in the long run for a worse experience, when you don’t need to spend that much more to beat the console in terms of performance. I am glad I switched to PC ages ago, and ngl I tried getting back into some console gaming, but couldn’t do it. It really is the case of once you see the other side you can’t go back.

It really is. You plug in the HDMI to the TV and your GPU, the TV detects the input, boom. It displays. MAYBE it takes a second, and MAYBE you have to open display settings to get the proper resolution, but 9.5 times out of 10 it auto detects, and sets itself to the correct resolution.
@MiaSangold man, my smart tv (Samsung Q70A) freaks tf out whenever i try doing that, sometimes it does auto-detect sure...but most of the time it freezes, or outputs the wrong resolution or it straight up does not output any image whatsoever, and when I manualy fix everything up lets say I wanna play a game that doesn't start in the same native resolution of 4k I chose (usualy max payne 3) and bam, the tv freaks tf out again and there goes my configurations along with the image, and that happens in many games where I need to change resolutions not to mention all the times I need to troubleshoot something wich is the case in a lot of pc games, it is such a hastle having to use a mouse and a keyboard (even wireless) in your counch...on console i just press the play button, I love pc gaming with all my heart but it is not plug and play on the big screen

I would say consoles are better for some instances like in terms of ease of use, friendly multiplayer, and reliability. PC is great for most forms of gaming if you are really into the hobby and understand the components, but you do encounter a lot of issues where you have to deal with troubleshooting with PC. That’s the main problem I have with PC gaming although I still use it more, but simplicity is something consoles have over PC

Consoles are good for people who arent gaming enthusiasts. Basically the dad who has no time to be playing with settings when he gets an hour or two to game.
You can be a gaming enthusiast with a console and have lots of games and know a lot about them and play a lot. Obviously though there’s a more limited library on console and usually don’t look as good as a pc unless it’s like a 3080 gpu. I wish the xbox and PlayStation got new generations quicker than they do. They’re perfectly fine devices for gaming but eventually games will get better and better and will still be used on the same technology so they can’t use the full potential of the game’s capabilities on console.

Biggesf problem with pc gaming is windows. If they made a xbox ui or even os on pc, like free os for people that only wanna game, there would be less issues. Or steamOs could be released for other hardwares then the steamdeck but DRM and anticheat are still sometimes an issue, might be lessen if more people had it. But windows is the thing that mostly cause issues. My dream is an xbox version of a os on pc that you could switch to desktop mode, should be a free version of windows with less windows features then windows home, so more light and streamlined

Lets just say what normal people are thinking no conole os better then pc. Technically a console is a low powered pc honestly. I have all three main consoles and even a gaming pc. At this Point im very tempted to move fully to pc because i can still use an xbox controller for most games i don't like it plugged into my tv. Then if i find a game plays better on console like stalker 2 i got game pass to play it and it definitely works better. But for some they are happy waiting im not that patient i want to play games when they launch and hope for the best some if there really bad i don't even bother waiting for warhammer 2 to go on sale i want to play it but the length to me is not worth full price.
