I love the first battle especially with the self destruct he made. @ULTRA INSTINCT DJ JACKY The Weezing is the pokemon on Kogas team that used self-destruct in the first battle. Sorry for not explaining what I meant. I was referring to why it used self-destruct during the battle when that was Kogas last pokemon.
@@misslady2639 Agatha either passed away or moved. And Koga either took her place or the asked him because he’s the closets to ghost type. But that makes sense. Even though the Marsh and soul badger should be switched
So I was training my Lapras in Koga's gym in Yellow and I accidentally talked to Koga, mistaking him as a random trainer... all my Pokemon were under level 40 and I was like "I'M NOT READY!", but I won (Charizard was the MVP, but he missed fly 2 times in a row!) I had a Mew but I didn't even need to use it :-D I feel proud of myself, as I didn't use any healing items. EDIT: Charizard was lvl 37
I only battled Koga on Pokémon Firered Version, but he really wasn't the hardest gym leader in my opinion. I just trained a butterfree from Viridian Forest to beat him.
If anybody needs to know, I defeated Koga in Pokémon Blue with a Blastoise and Raichu. Remember, the Pokémon before Raichu has been shown effectively taking down the Team Rocket trio's Koffing (later Weezing) many times. I didn't have to fight Koga more than once.
QOTD- I had Charizard, Pidgeot, Primeape, Snorlax, Omanyte and Gloom. It started off being a poison vs poison showdown as I sent out Ivy (Gloom) against him. After he sent in his ace however, it was a switch between Sleepboi (Snorlax) and Everdraed (Charizard) that finally took down Koga
Koga being a poison type gym leader doesn't make a lot of sense to me. As a ninja, they should've made him a fighting type guy. His Pokemon should've been Hitmonlee the *_Kicking_* Fiend and MaCHOP (since they sound ninja-like to me), and I don't know, I guess Mankey, Primeape, Poliwrath, and Geodude (since Machoke and Machamp are more the wrestling type). Those would be good options to match Koga's character, if you ask me.
It’s ninja because he uses defensive Pokémon and annoying strategies. Like double team and toxic. Ninjas fighting but only when they need too. They usually are stealthy. Which is why he’s poison, he’s annoying not violent
@@johnrainsman6650 they are only when they are provoked. Your not suppose to put right fight. Self defense is not out right fighing. That’s why they chose poison. Poison types are mostly defensive an annoy.
For me koga in pokemon fire red is the hardest gym leader im have to use potion, why the pokemon levels are prety big,The pokemon more hard une for me is muk and weezing
Koga gave me trouble the first time I faced him in HeartGold mainly due to Forretress having high Defence and me not brining a Fire type so I decided to pit my Forretress (Zap Cannon, Earthquake, Protect & Explosion) against his I weakened it with Earthquake and then finished it off with Explosion and I made sure to have a Fire type for the rematch and got a OHKO against his Ariados. I have always seen Weezing as Koga's signature Pokemon but he is one trainer I love to face
@@yunarukami6161 I know it was Arbok who was cut in half, but at the end of chapter 14 there is a scene where Koga crushes the Pokéball with the Golbat inside it. Now I know it didn't die because it appears again later in the yellow arc, but I didn't read so far back then. That's why was wondering haha

@ULTRA INSTINCT DJ JACKY your English is extremely bad.
@ULTRA INSTINCT DJ JACKY I mean, you didn't even read the comment right before replying.
@ULTRA INSTINCT DJ JACKY it's not. Why would you ask? I'm just pointing it out.
Something I love in gen 1 and 2: if a Pokemon uses Minimize its sprite STAYS MINIMIZED
Koga is my role model, double team / toxic / confuse ray . All the combos will sure terrorise even the strong Pokémon
Unless they start with Taunt.
that's cool how he became a part of the elite 4 and his daughter is now the gym leader
But who’s the mother?
@@MazterP28 That a question I asked myself since I was frickin' 12. Then I had a sad headcannon with the Soul Badge, which is also heartshaped.....

Lol that selfdestruct in the first battle
Last Pokemon...self destruct seems like a good idea!
Reminds me of Lieutenant Surge’s Raichu using an electric move on my Nidoking several turns after I had sent it out.
Love the sound effect for sludge in Gen 1. It sounds so.... poisonous lol
Enjoy and have a great day! ;)

I really like the LGPE's restyle of him. Gives more of a ninja vibe.

I love Gen 1 sprites. Most of them either look f*cking scary and intimidating or they're not just "there" to feel stagnant. They'd gotta be posin'.
Why is his Pokémon lvl 50.... he’s only the 5th gym leader 😩
Koga's own gym trainers are harder than he is. Status just doesn't work when RBY's brainlet AI is at the wheel.

Nostalgia of freely hitting Koffing with a Ground-type move...
freely.. without any gimmick.. huhu
Legend says that koga once a gym leader
How did that toxic hit pidgeot when it used fly? 35:54
Starting in Gen 6, Toxic always hits if used by a poison type, even if the target is semi-invulnerable
Pokemon let's go Eevee is very iconic and classic.
Neat
Second good video
I only fight hgss koga😂
Damn, I didn't pay attention that he is the elite 4 from jhoto. God I feel old.
Your Charizard in Pokemon Let's Go has the same moveset as mine.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I never played the kanto or johto games so... I can't answer your question nor I never faced his daughter
