Seaming together the two halves by flipping it on one another would be more successful if you added keys into your mold halves, assuring the mold halves lock together the same way every time.
Yes, that's an option, although turning one mold upside down to fit into the other might make this silicone drip out of place by gravity, Maybe flipping it over some 30 mins later when the silicone has made an outer crust that won't happen.
