This was tough. But resiliency will get us all through. IF YOU WANT TO HELP: Please find a legit organisation that does things on the ground. Please don't send money to random people! I can't receive donations because I'm not a registered charity, but I will be donating my own personal money to a good project.
Turks shawarma.. I hope its legit shawarma.. 😂.. Shawarma with beer or tanduay in the busy urban streets of cebu much better.. That taste of turks shawarma a long way to go compared to chef cengiz turkish kebab roll as for my experience..the best.. 😂
Hi Kumander Daot...I salute you for this - asking people to donate to legit charity organizations. Keep up the good work. I hope you'll reach the people who need help desperately on time ...
Salamat KD.. We know you're fighting battles too. Thank yo for being a voice. Your videos always have a certain touch in them. You may reach some people whom others don't - and their awareness may help someone devastated and make a difference. Even if t be for just a single life - and this will be all worth it. We do what we can. Lots of love.
Listen Bro, just listened to the start and then paused it. You are not only a vlogger BUT a documentarian, and like all the greats that went before you, you are there in a moment in time to shine a light on a terrible event, while also trying to help to alleviate the suffering of others. You are a naturally respectful guy but I am also glad that you did document this event, I salute you for that, and glad you returned safely to your missus and dogs. I hope your Christmas Day was uplifting. Now I will get back to watching your special report...
Watching this video brings home the reality of how severe the typhoon and its aftermath are. Experiencing hurricanes here on the US east coast doesn't compare at all to the severity of Typhoon Odette and others experienced by the Philippines. Our storms are frightening enough that I can't imagine how much more frightening it must be for those people who live in much less secure conditions. I'm overwhelmed by the glimpses of devastation in yours and Kulas' videos. God bless the Filipino people and their determination to carry on the very next day. 💪🙏👍🥰
I know you will make a hugely positive impact to so many in need. Remember to take care of yourself too! I will be helping my friends in Toledo western Cebu who's house was completely destroyed. In 2022 I will be organizing a mission to build them a concrete structure so they are safer when this happens again next. Keep up the great work bro. 🙏
Thanks Anselm , Philippine people live with Typhoons/Earthquakes some parts of each year bring really bad one's and yet they still deal with it never moaning or complaining ,they are strong amazing people . God Bless them all .
Good Morning po KD! I have seen you together with sir Kulas in his vlog, youre both busy helping and extending charity works for the tyohoon victims, Thanks po for your kindness to the Filipino people! May God Bless you , your friends and family always!
i remember when kulas accidentally saw you helping people when kulas is helping people too in one of our disaster. you're not a vloggen then. so i know that you genuinely help Filipinos ever since.
When I heard your narrative in the beginning, I have to double check because it seems that I was watching a documentary from PBS Frontline. You are doing great on your vlogs kumander.
Kumander Daot, Appreciated your generosity and Thank you, for allowing COBEFIL-Colas Becoming Filipino, of using your Hilux transporting goods for Siargao and nearby areas, lambasted by Typhoon Odette. GOD BLISS YOU ALWAYS.
Thank you for the report. I have been through hard storms before in Florida and Louisiana. With no electricity, food, water, and cash, this is a trial. Thank you again for your compassionate reporting!
Many thanks KD for this documentation on what transpire during the onslaught of typhoon Odette, and very thankful to God that you are fine and your family....take care and be safe always.......keep it coming KD, power on....God blesses you more.
Look after yourself you look so stressed and anxious but who wouldn't be. Not even a single moan from you. You are just endlessly grateful that you are in a better state than the others.
I like to watch your vlog and enjoyed watching the contents. What you have done in Dinagat Islands is an enormous responsibilities and hardwork. The assistance, and your generosity you & Kulas shared to the people in Dinagat and with the help of the AFP & Kumar engraved in their hearts forever.. Salute to all of you. I should say time to relax after a hard work😀
You naturally narrate your story base from what you saw and experienced. The pain is natural and to survive is another story. The victims of Odette will rise again. Dugo at pusong Pinoy 'di palulupig.
Mama Rose is famous in Cebu. Nice conversation with the couple you have there, Kumander. Just saw Kulas' vlog with your pickup truck doing some relief for those affected by Typhoon Odette. More power to both of you.💪
Thanks for having us on this Vlog, anything we can do to help, we are here, still no water. Great Vlog as always, to give some perspective on such an event, we will never forget. cheers
The way you described the situation, I felt the devastating disaster the typhoon gave the poor people of the Philippines. My heart goes out to my countrymen. May God give them strength and faith that everything will get better.
I have a new respect for you for your sensitivity of the plight of the people, and making the right decisions not to show case for money but to show the needs of the people. May your good heart continue to touch and help the needy Filipinos.
Regardless of the "quality" of the vlog, it inspired me, none the less. I sent about £125 to people I know over there... because I know they need it and I know they will share it with others. That will go a long way there... Thank you KD... for keeping us informed and for taking the time to document what has happened. Many in the west do not begin to realise the depth of destruction and hardship. Your efforts bring that news. Vlog... keep vlogging... walk the street... talk to people and show us. You are a hero to the Filipinos.
I watched this and couldn't help but think how tough it must of been for the many homeless people. Life was difficult enough for so many people before the storm and struggling to get by with this pandemic and then they get this. I pray they will all have a better future and 2022 is kind to them, good luck.
Thank God you are safe and thank you for the vlog at least people will realize how bad the storm was and hoping for the safety and well being of the Filipino peole and their resiliency in any calamity and life must go on your drone shot is great i hope you keep taking video God Bless
It’s so heart-rending to see all the devastation. And it breaks my heart! I haven’t seen yet your final documentary of this calamity, but I’m confident it will present an accurate picture of the extent of the destruction brought by Super Typhoon Odette/Ria from your first person experience. You have my utmost respect and admiration Anselm, for your valuable contribution to this humanitarian endeavor, by lending your correspondence skills to bring the voice of the people to world attention. It was very evident that you were personally affected by what you see firsthand and your heart was heavy and your voice choked. I tried to hold back my tears while watching you. Mabuhay ka Kumander D. I am proud to call you a brother. Sympathies from Michigan.
Keep documenting KD, people need to know what's really happening where ever you are sir. Stay safe always! You and Kulas are great same with the other vloggers out there. 👌😊

Thankful me and my family we're fine we survived it. I'm sure there a way more people that had it rougher than what I had to go through but in my case after the typhoon I had to wake up early to line up for gas from 4 or 5 in the morning and get my turn at around 10 or 11...then after that I would rest for a bit, then go out again in the afternoon to look for charging stations so that we will have a light during the night and power to our phones. That was my routine for more than a week until we finally got back communication, electricty and most importantly, water..all on the 25th, though my experience was much easier since we pretty much divided our tasks in the family especially since our home was spared with barely any damage. Looking at other people situations, I feel really thankful that we made through it in one piece yet at the same time I feel extreme sadness for those who had lost a lot, if not, everything. Also hearing the stories from what it was like on 1990 during Typhoon Ruping, I'd say we were quite lucky. Also, during the blackout, I've always been curious on how youtubers affected by the typhoon would cover this, and I got to say, GREAT JOB to all of you. Instead of capitalizing on it for selfish reasons, you guys decided to best make use of the platform's greatest advantage...and that is to spread information, so, Thank you.
The Philippines has earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and strong typhoons but NO calamity can bring us down coz we are resilient people we are fighters and we will rise over and over. God bless The Philippines!
Yep, me and my family lived thru it, others did not. It was heart breaking to see and experience the force of this Super Typhoon. And now for the clean up.......
I experienced this kind of devastation during the Yolanda. Filipinos are resilient and I know they will rise up and recover. Happy New Year to all! God Bless the Philippines. 😎👍

What you are doing Kumander is good. Thank you!
God Bless You Anselm and your wife. Keep safe and know that we appreciate what you've been doing specially during these times.
The Philippines has earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and strong typhoons but NO calamity can bring us down coz we are resilient people we are fighters and we will rise over and over. God bless The Philippines!
Mabuhay ka K D 👌
Very familiar to me the place you stayed. Very accessible. By Fuente Osmena Circle. Thank you for uploading. Keep going.
I can't even imagine how difficult it is for you making this video. Still you manage with the intention to help other people in need.
You have a good heart kumander
Sending good positive energy for your mental health.
My heart hurts also bro.
Your voice is good, I hope someone in-network media sees you as a potential commentator.
Thank you my friend ❤️
Yep, me and my family lived thru it, others did not. It was heart breaking to see and experience the force of this Super Typhoon. And now for the clean up.......
I experienced this kind of devastation during the Yolanda. Filipinos are resilient and I know they will rise up and recover.
Happy New Year to all! God Bless the Philippines. 😎👍
Just do your best and you'll be fine KD.
Thanks for sharing Mate. Horrendous event and the true hardships are only just beginning, especially for the people in the squatters areas 😭
