I have not been there since the 90s, but in the 80s and 90s, it was really bad. Even now, you can see garbage and spitting on marks on the floor. Hum nahin sudhar sakte. Govt kitna karegi, citizens have no sense of repsponsibility.
There are 2 metro stations for Nehru Place .
1 - Nehru Place.
2 - Nehru Enclave.
Yes first one is on the Violet Line and 2nd one is on the Magenta line. But Nehru Place market can be accessed through one more metro station and that is Kalkaji metro station.
Great to see Nehru place is being renovated, used to come here often as a teenager to get my computer repaired. But what is sad is the trash on the streets - even after the push from the PM for clean India, people don't make any effort and throw stuff right on the road. How can we keep doing this and make our own country dirty, I just don't understand what goes through people's minds when doing this.

It is good to see the transformational changes in Delhi. For littering, spitting, traffic indiscipline, hawking on the footpath, crossing roads at random instead of using pedestrian crossing etc should be penalized. We cannot allow people to break laws with impunity. This is what is required in India. Unless people feel the pinch of breaking laws things would not improve in India. Hope, all parts of Delhi will be developed like this.

Vendor and hawker create havoc. Free Mai shop Lagao .small trader jo shop rent purchase Kari hai usko Bahut heavy loss ho raha hai.. govt. spend huge on beautification get lost when vendor seize the area and pedestrians have no space for walking. What a utter mess just like we seen on Chandni Chowk development.

Those "tower"s are titular, as in nomenclature but in reality are low rise buildings and in height and aesthetics are evidences of India's mediocrity. Ugly overhead wiring mesh is still visible displaying the bad taste of businesses put up there. The tiles freshly laid look so cheap. Also at 2:37, big crack on the sidewall of the roof of the undrground parking is visible, bearing traits typical of the character of the "statesman" the locality was named after.
Also this is not redevelopment, rather cosmetic makeover or facelift of the open space. For proper redevelopment, those buildings had to be demolished and replaced with new construction which could enhance their qualitative and quantitative infrastructural capacity vastly.
In India, peoole are content with cosmetic faclifts and cheap freebies, not interested in asset creation or grounds up thorough development.
