Using aluminium straps is an excellent tip I will try out on my next project 🤓🧐
The other thing that caught my eye was the leather harness you designed to keep the mask in place. I would love it if you would go into detail about designing and building that in a future video!
Thanks! For the mask harness I literally just copied the harness to my dust mask! ;) only difference is I added some magnets to one side so I could quickly take it off.

Hey fella, hope all is well ? as it's been a while. I have been re watching some of your old videos, particularly the vaccum degassing chamber vid and the pressure casting videos. Wow the prices have escalated. Looking at the smaller pressure pots/compressor and vaccum stuff. Still confused by it all tbh and newer models seem to be out. Anyway great fun to watch. Hope you get your mojo back soon, I've lost mine lately too but new ideas are circulating.
Hey dude, yeah I'm good thanks, hope you're cool. Yeah I checked out pressure chambers a while back as I was thinking about getting a smaller one. The small ones were about the same price that I paid for my large one!
Cheers, yeah I haven't stopped making stuff as such, I've just been rather indecisive and also haven't had much time to edit videos. Slowly getting back into it though.

Thanks very much. The reason I have several is that I did start making some to sell, but they're machined aluminium and so take a while to do. In the end it wasn't really economically viable to do them at an affordable price.
Beautiful piece. Can I 'nit-pick?' I think the green part would look better if it had more of the cast metal look about it. I'm thinking of the patina/pitted effect with the smooth finished areas of old cast iron parts - possibly with raised lettering? To digress; I remember 1970's queuing up for lessons in the school science wing, in the showcases were cast machines parts with cut-out sections for viewing inside. The outside was The 'typical' green, the internal part a cream colour and the cut edge painted red. These things fascinated me and I think an insidious steampunk seed was sown even then!
Yeah I know what you mean. I did a similar backpack in the style of a victorian beam engine a while back. This one was abit of a rush job unfortunately ;)

Loving the costume as always. I have noticed that steampunk folk don’t really seem to weather their costumes very much. Is that a thing?. It’s just a personal preference but I think it adds more depth to a costume. Maybe that makes it more Dieselpunk though but I wondered what your thoughts were on it?
Thanks David. As it happens I did have a section on weathering the backpack section of this but I cut it out for time! I often give any non-fabric items a wash of oil or enamel paints as they can often look abit too new. Getting some grime in the details can definitely add a level of realism to them and also accentuate the detail.
I also use a black resolene, which is basically a varnish, on leather to do a similar thing. Additional weathering generally comes from wearing the piece as natural wear and tear also adds to the overall look I think.
Interesting outfit in the end. Shame the original didbt work out, it had some cool deepsea diver vibes
