So with you on this - The Thai original is worth a watch. The spirit shown sitting on his shoulders in the end seemed to me an excellent metaphor of feeling the weight of your guilt. Too bad that they just show her hugging Joshua Jackson from behind in the remake. The original image really stayed with me.
Definitely need to give the Thai version a watch, love a good ghost film thats also kinda psychological, and as someone else has suggestes, give Grave Encounters a watch, its a fun take on the found footage style of film that is genuinely creepy
@Lauren Perfetto well I first watched the original and I was bummed that I can't understand what they are saying and there are no English subtitles, coz the movie seemed interesting.
If you could SMELL the magic that shoots out MY ASS you'd realize I could drain the D.C. swamp in seconds... I 've witnessed my farts KILL small birds and insects.... it's an amazing talent.
Greetings from Tokyo, Japan :) And, yes, the hearses in Japan are...like a temple on wheels. I believe they are expensive to get though, so most people use ordinary looking cars. When I cross the rainbow bridge ( hopefully like 50 years later) I hope my hearse is in the shape of the Cat Bus from Totoro. I hope you review more Asian Horror remake movies, I love your comments/style/etc!
I just love the idea of him having Megumi rest on his shoulders all the time, it literally harkens back to "the weight on your shoulders" because of what he did and also have that be an act of affection. The writer of the original obviously has a lot of talent.
10:20 Each time I watch this, I feel like I’m even more impressed by her acting. The shock, horror, fear, outrage, and disgust with a dash of betrayal (at pretending to be something he’s not? At pretending to be a decent human who married her? At pretending to believe no one deserves what he did to her or sat back and watched?) You can hear her breaking under the weight of everything she does and does not know, but she’s trying to stay angry and ride the injustice of it all instead of falling to pieces. It’s so good. That screamed knowing accusation 🤧👏
One of my favourite horror films The way you added the "did you see it" voice and video style from that ghost channel was freaking hilarious. Great video
I just want you to know that I hope you plan on doing this for a while and sticking around to post your reviews. I love your content so much and I know a LOT of us do. Your wit and comedy and just overall personality is unmatched! I don’t think I’ve ever thoroughly enjoyed a UA-camr so much... maybe just some of the content they make. But I watch you because I enjoy what you have to say and how you are going to make me laugh. Keep it up ! 👌🏻
Man, that ending. "Holy crud, a ghost is sitting on my shoulders! Better brand myself on the neck and then give myself jury-rigged electroshock therapy! That'll show her!" I get that you wouldn't be thinking clearly, but surely there's a thousand other things you'd try first; even in a panic. Although I suppose it may have ruined the tension if it showed him trying to suck her up in a vacuum cleaner.
Thanks!😁 I LOVE: your cats, your vibes, your humor, and the ability to make me a better movie obsessed, middle aged woman. You get five bees🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝 for making sweet content! November 2022.
Me this morning: *my life is meaningless. I don’t know why I even exist* Me after NewBee uploads: *I think I can make it through the day* Thanks NewBee
This is a movie my mom rented for me when it first came out on dvd because I loved horror movies and Joshua Jackson. It's a movie I never forgot because it was kind of horrific to see Joshua Jackson play in this role when I was used to him as Pacey Witter.
I saw the original one and not this one. Good to know it wasn't worth my time. There are a crap ton of good Asian horror movies. If they make it to Netflix you won't be disappointed.
Ben sitting in a chair while his wife slowly walks up to him just got him to turn around and yell has to be one of the stupidest jump scares I have ever seen. Right up there with people freaking out when a phone rings
Thing I don't get about ghosts is the the earth, solar system and galaxy are all rocketing through space. So where someone died is not actually where they died, that spot is 1000000 km away in space. Everyone knows when you die you just like hand around where you died, doing....you know...spooky stuff
It's the same thing with time travel. You need a machine that moves you in both time _and_ space, or you might end up parking a Delorian in the middle of the emptiness of space. Even the solar system and the galaxy itself are moving all the time.
Great review of Shutter (2008), some of the original Japanese horror movies are better than a remake in english speaking countries. I'm glad they didn't use Nikon cameras in this movie. You rock Bee Man.
I remember this movie when it first came out. I loved it. The only thing I disliked was the non stop jump scares. It was a really cool idea but more could have been done with it
Hello there NewBee :) While I have been a fan for years, I have never requested a movie before. However, the holiday season and the outbreak has me watching more movies these days than usual. That being said...would you please watch and review Hide and Seek? It has Robert DeNiro and Dakota Fanning in it. I want to see if we feel the same about it!! Please oh please?🤔😯🙃👻 It is my dearest (and only) Christmas wish! Thanks to COVID19 we is broke as bats on a Tuesday and this would greatly improve my holiday spirit 😍 I hope you and your absolutely ravishing wife are happy and healthy-thank you as always for the videos 😍 So much joy...
It is weird because the show 'Fact or Faked' started out disproving everything, and then by the time it was done they were saying it wasn't in their contract to be exposed to danger. Myself, I think I have been tapped on a few times, and saw some figures at least once. I had a bowl hard core explode after eating the hot chili inside, as like the last bite, but that is sort of plausible heat contraction.
I think music should’ve been played when you see a jumpscare coming and had no music for the hidden one, later on the movie they could’ve started to played music for hidden scares.
That Casper fella you got there doesn't look trustworthy...His smile hides something Great review as always! I did applause when "applause" appeared on the screen..
I'm surprised he didn't say anything about the girl playing Megumi has the same name, now that is creepy N how powerful that slap was, he went flying n hit the ground
I’ve watched a plethora of your videos after finding your channel a long time ago. I continue to love your personality and get super excited when I see a new post. Absolutely love the content, never change!
Great video, 100% accurate about the remake being shit compared to OG. Reminds me of Spike Lee's version of Oldboy, which is a steaming pile of shit while the original is a masterpiece. Thanks for keeping me entertained
This 'Did you see it?' thing was damn hilarious!
Nuke would be proud.
Yah that last scene with him slumping over terrified me!
Definitely need to give the Thai version a watch, love a good ghost film thats also kinda psychological, and as someone else has suggestes, give Grave Encounters a watch, its a fun take on the found footage style of film that is genuinely creepy
I'd recommend "Grave Encounters" for an innovative ghost movie.
I second that
Love that movie
Or session 9
Yes
Watch it it’s good
Dude, I just found out your channel, and I'm laughing so much, top notch quarantine content, man. Hugs from Brazil \o/
Every time my neck hurts I think of this movie.
All American Remakes of Asian horror movies are terrible and dumbed down, can't stand them.
They should start talking English more often in their films so this can't happen.
@Lauren Perfetto reread 😒
@Lauren Perfetto well I first watched the original and I was bummed that I can't understand what they are saying and there are no English subtitles, coz the movie seemed interesting.
I liked the Grudge American versions
Main male lead is a Canadian
I did not see it :(
you should watch the original Thai version Shutter (2004)
Yes, it is SO much better.
Thank you, I'll give it a try.
It's a shame that movies don't have to be labeled as remakes. I fell for cheap US remakes far too often for my liking.
the subtitles had me crying hahaha brilliant job
Good job Bee boy
Idk boys, be he boy, man, or boy. Man, I be confused whether he be boy man or bee
@Swag Man my man you bee tripping. The boy is obviously bee, man.
Mihoy minoy me
If you could SMELL the magic that shoots out MY ASS you'd realize I could drain the D.C. swamp in seconds... I 've witnessed my farts KILL small birds and insects.... it's an amazing talent.
@Swag Man boyman man is bee man boy man bee bee boy man

The editing in this video is fantastic! “Wasted” 😂😂😂

Not talent but good insight. Her sitting on his shoulders represented the weight of guilt which was clever
10:20 Each time I watch this, I feel like I’m even more impressed by her acting. The shock, horror, fear, outrage, and disgust with a dash of betrayal (at pretending to be something he’s not? 3:38 I spit out my juice and I couldn’t stop laughing for a few long seconds
IWillCherishAigisAndNeo I love that part.
One of my favourite horror films
The way you added the "did you see it" voice and video style from that ghost channel was freaking hilarious. Great video
I love these reviews. They give me a reason to binge the movies

8:05... "I believe I can fly." LMFAO.
Man, that ending. "Holy crud, a ghost is sitting on my shoulders! Better brand myself on the neck and then give myself jury-rigged electroshock therapy! That'll show her!"

I'm a new subscriber!! I watched your review on tusk and I love your channel already !! I hope you get big one day :^3
the og thai shutter though is something else
Thanks for the original movie reference, I'll definitely check it out. Great review.
I remember watching the original years ago when I first got into horror films. I'm excited to watch your teardown of this!
This is a movie my mom rented for me when it first came out on dvd because I loved horror movies and Joshua Jackson. It's a movie I never forgot because it was kind of horrific to see Joshua Jackson play in this role when I was used to him as Pacey Witter.
Hahaha your added doctor dialogue was amazing!
I saw the original one and not this one. Good to know it wasn't worth my time. There are a crap ton of good Asian horror movies. If they make it to Netflix you won't be disappointed.
I love your scooby laugh. It's 10/10.

How did she down three bottels off cyanide ?
I tried to Google the effects of cyanide and lethality, but I didn't want to get on another FBI list 😔
@@theNewBee 😂
@@theNewBee another, you say? 😂😂😂
Wow, first time seeing a 1 🐝 review...😲
It's so weird that your not famous yet...
edit: also this movie is one of the scariest I've seen as a kid.
Ben sitting in a chair while his wife slowly walks up to him just got him to turn around and yell has to be one of the stupidest jump scares I have ever seen. Right up there with people freaking out when a phone rings
A phone ring can startle anyone if the execution is good
Speaking of ghosts and photos, are you going to cover Polaroid??? I’d love to see your take. I’ve only seen Dylan Is In Trouble’s video
Thing I don't get about ghosts is the the earth, solar system and galaxy are all rocketing through space. So where someone died is not actually where they died, that spot is 1000000 km away in space.

Another great review, keep it up man :)
I definitely recommend you watch the Thai version of this movie. It was WAY scarier than the English remake. :)
Love your humor!!
Great review of Shutter (2008), some of the original Japanese horror movies are better than a remake in english speaking countries. I'm glad they didn't use Nikon cameras in this movie. You rock Bee Man.
True! But the original Shutter is actually a Thai film
your a bit underrated, i love your humor.
You nailed it again !
Not a frightening film and you saved me once again from wasting my time .
I love your work and Thank you !
Oh man ya made me laugh!! 😂 this was GREAT!! 👍
I remember this movie when it first came out. I loved it. The only thing I disliked was the non stop jump scares. It was a really cool idea but more could have been done with it

I Totally forgot I wanted to see this version of "Shutter" a long time ago before my dad got Netflix and they put the original on there
That Casper fella you got there doesn't look trustworthy...His smile hides something
Great review as always! I did applause when "applause" appeared on the screen..
The original film scared me so much
I'm surprised he didn't say anything about the girl playing Megumi has the same name, now that is creepy

Yay! Another Nuke fan! Keep up the awesome work!
Such a refreshing channel to watch! Awesome review

I believe I can fl--
I love your reviews
I love your commentary
9:37 member the bad Indian acting when they had a family drama and the girl hangs herself with the curtain
6:18 so true every remake is just hallways and forests

I’ve watched a plethora of your videos after finding your channel a long time ago. I continue to love your personality and get super excited when I see a new post. Absolutely love the content, never change!
It's sad that some people will only ever see this version
One correction. This was originally a THAI movie. Not Japanese.
Oh boy I was thinking of shutter Island a far better movie. Althoigh the Japanese movie of shutter is good.
CORRECTION!!! THE ORIGINAL SHUTTER IS FROM THAILAND NOT FROM JAPAN! But I agree it's good.
This movie has absolutely no idea what subtlety is
You should make a review on shutter
Love your videos
Hello Merry Christmas
Happy she left this a.. hole. You did a great job. Love you funny, honest reviews 😘
I work in a haunted plantation so I technically signed up to experience the supernatural lol
I didn't know there was an English adaptation
I needed Newbees today 😍
ΒΕΕ THERE'S A GHOST BEHIND YOU
Great video, 100% accurate about the remake being shit compared to OG. Reminds me of Spike Lee's version of Oldboy, which is a steaming pile of shit while the original is a masterpiece. Thanks for keeping me entertained
Peter? This movie must be a Fringe event. :D
It wasn't that bad. I thought the cast was good. Not so much in acting sense but in role sense
“I was just developing some bukakke pictures & it just got away from me”- God bless your turn of phrase!
I like the "Did you see it?" That was fun 😃
