he's getting vocal lessons to keep up. Proper breathing techniques, warm-up etc. Or else his voice would be seriously fucked every two shows for the rest of the tour. That's why around 5-6 years ago he sounded like he was afraid of belting these songs and resorted to weak falsetto tones for higher notes. The neck surgery played its part for sure as well.
Not sure why he'd need vocal lesson if he sang so good in 90's. His vocal has been weakening due to age , neck surgery and non stop touring. The last time he sounded great was in 2007 Download festival.
vocal lessons is different from vocal coaching. I believe he has somebody show him how to use and maintain the voice he has now. He did not sing that good in the 90s imo. And of course his vocal capacity was much greater due to young age and less restrains. He was more comfortable singing but did not take care of his voice as much as he should and the results are evident today.
Actually he did, the footage from 94-99, he sounded just like on the record. The Haloween 94 and Phoenix 97 (Live trax cd), Woodstock 99, he sounded perfect. If we're expecting a better vocal than that, then it would be by overdubs. Dave rarely alternate his vocal melody unlike many other vocalists such as Halford and Dickinson who would also let the crowd to sing in every songs. Halford is great singer but he also barely to sing perfectly in concert. For intense, he cant even sing songs from Painkiller album during Painkiller tour... and he's much more accomplished vocalist than Dave, at least on studio record.
He's also getting treatment for lyme disease which he didn't know he had, it really fucks with your airways and also has the same effect as lymphoma. There was a female country singer years back that had to give up her career because of it, I cant remember who it was though.
yes, sorry,i almost committed sacriledge there didn't I!dirk dirk dirk dirk dirk dirk dirk dirk...ok I think I will remember now not to make the same mistak twice!thankyou so much, berk
He actually sang ok compared to some past performances, I'm surprised he didnt die before 40 considering how he mixed just about every drug in and out of the book
He's kinda getting his voice back a little bit. I remember them playing it live at some point in 2017 and he couldn't really sing any of the parts. It's still a bit rough, but he's getting there
@@AndersonWave17 Even then, I think it sounds pretty damn good. Megadeth seems to really fit D-Standard quite well. The vocals are noticeably deeper and darker, which honestly fits the stuff off of Countdown better than the original in my opinion. Dystopia was written in D, so it obviously sounds the best that way as well. I've heard it tuned up to E and it just isn't quite as good. The way I see it, I think Mustaine could've sounded better even in his prime if he even played in Eb.
@@michaelmartins177 Likely because of Mustaine's condition, can't say for sure but he started playing the swing riff a bit slower and Dirk probably just followed it.
The Mechanix is now a grandpa....
Imagine the mechanix telling his grandsons how he met his wife.
i dont think any grandfather will tell their grandsons about having sex at a gas station xD
i bet he just plays this and let dave tell 'em how he did
Hello Cirno
@@galacticab07 oh, you found me!
And about he's biggest enemy The Four Horsemen
Dirk is killing it, it almost sounds like he is blasting at some points
He really seems to be digging Gar's stuff. He's the only other megadeth drummer to get his fills right.
@@brandongonzales5547 even Dave said he's like Gars ghost haha
YEAH...GO BELGIUM !!!!!!!!!
Dave voice is better than the last 5 years, maybe because he has been resting for a while before the current tour.

THE FINAL KILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
kirks double kick work at the end combined with daves ending solo was simply brutal and amazing.ive always loved the intro to this song as well.

And Dirk...is a BELGIAN....GO BELGIUM !!!!!!!!!!!
AYYYY I WAS HERE
THE CONJURING
Short Tom fuck thats lucky bro! Nice!!
One of the best versions of mechanix
Damn Dirk actually is able to hit all those drum solos like Gar would. Only Nick could do those fills Shawn never could.
Nick never nailed it like Gar either
@@bbpoltergeist1554 That's true.
Seems like Dirk is the only one that is able to play those original crazy fills

Dave Mustaine last American Badass.
*He's motherfucking back*
Dave monster of the metal😊

This was a huge improvement from 2017
What I would give to see them perform mechanix live for there first time
dirks double kick work at the blah blah blah....u get it
They killed it!! Fuck yeah!!
what a great sound
He actually sounds good. Great quality!
Killer drummer
The only thing I dislike about their performance now is D tuning, other than that Dave is back fellas!
Its so Dave can sing with it. His range isnt as high as it was.

Dirk is their best drummer since Gar
He is their best drummer since Chris Adler. Those two are way ahead of anyone else.
Since Nick Menza
Gar Samuelson, Nick Menza, and Dirk

Mustaine playing it like four horsemen at the age of 57. After all those years melting fan faces with the speed and aggression of mechanix.
Actually this still a lot faster 😂. And it’s the perfect version of both songs, it combines speed and precision.
Sick🤘🏼🔥☠️
I can’t believe that Metallica stole his songs, aguante Megadeth
Aguante, papá!!! 🤘🤘🤘

I wanna download the version with d standard please
Mate I was there at same place of u..
WHO dislike Megadeth , is a Nobody 🤟
The next presentation of mechanix is going to have to be played only with bass because there are already lower notes to play
berk has the last say
I love the raw stage set up! I don't dig all the silly video shit they do.
Dave realized he is god, so he stopped being such a "good Christian".
Cringe.
Dirkblast
Are they playing this song slowly? It doesnt sound as fast as the record on the album.
Faster than Four Horsemen.
@@Amadeus-ms9lt Ikr but it still sounds slower than what they used to play 1 or 2 years ago.

is it just me or does mechanix & the four horseman by metallica sound really familiar!
Are you joking? Do you not know the story?
Different angle im looking at hmmm
4horsemens sucks)
