- In this episode of Discover Wisconsin, hosts Mariah Haberman and Marie Justice get to know the diverse and unexpected sides of Beloit. From weekly farmers’ markets, to community events like the Art Walk, Fridays in the Park and Music at Harry’s Place, there is always something going on in Beloit!
On the beautiful grounds of Beckman Mill County Park, Mariah learns about Beloit’s rural history, which comes alive in a working 19th century gristmill. Meanwhile, Marie and her family explore some of the family friendly things to do around town, including meeting the alpacas at Pacesetter Alpacas and enjoying a delicious breakfast made from scratch at Double B Farm. Families visiting Beloit can also enjoy a day in the country at The Apple Hut (which serves up the best cider doughnuts in Wisconsin) or take in a Beloit Snappers game at Pohlman Field.
Beloit is home to some amazing restaurants that offer up unique food and atmospheres. At Lucy’s #7 Burger Bar, Marie learns how to cook the perfect Juicy Lucy; and later, she steps back in time at Clara Bo and Gatsby Wine Bar. And while the city is bustling with culture and activity, Mariah discovers pockets of wild, beautiful nature that provide lots of hiking, learning and paddling opportunities to visitors. You may think you know Beloit, but it’s time to go see for yourself - and expect the unexpected!
