Pike teeth are so sharp. I've been bitten numerous times (as all Pike fishermen have 😂) and often didn't know until I noticed I was bleeding. Good idea on the first aid kit
Good call on paddling north to beat the wind. Paid off with some nice fish. That's one thing I always hated is paddling against a heavy wind. First aid kit is a great idea for tending to those injuries. You're always prepared!
Hi Sean. I have fish that back pool a lot in the past when i towed my Rv. I had great results with no boats getting in.watching this is making me wanting to go back south.
rough waters, great idea to move across and take the wind back! 25 minutes only halfway across 😮 Lot of seagulls on that island! Def don't want those droppings....lol Oh man....that Pike biting you🥴 100% need that first aid kit👍 Great point getting into those shallows. Little ATeam reference! Nice catching and video as always Sean!
Always Love CV. Water is high! Loved the Slow-mo bite footage! (Great Forest Gump reference too). Ice-cream for you -like FG. Fished Glenmore Reservoir today. Caption Highliner for me tonight. Lots of action for small Pike.
Nice work out there! Glad you had some success at the spots! That was one angry pike! Glad you were able to deal with that wound right away! I would not have been as prepared!😂
I laughed at the birds. Yes, you dont want their deposit on you or the kayak. I bring a first aid kit. It's a good idea, indeed. I used the tape last week to patch up the handle on my reel since the plastic tab that kept it in place broke. I always bring a roll of TP and a lighter /matches, too. Good idea to have some basic "survival " items. Good call attacking the shallows and a good outing overall.
That looked like one heck of an upper body workout getting out there. Good catches out there and that bite could’ve been so much worse. Glad to see you carry a kit like me. Being on blood thinners sucks when you get knicked by those toothy critters. Great video Sean!
Great video and glad you made it out. The levels are nice and high which is a relief compared to end of last open water season. I'd love to see some top water action but, with that wind, it's not super productive.
I know that's right, slap a band aid on it and get back in the game. Kayak advantage for sure, sometimes it's like paddling in the bath tub where you can go, Hahaha.
The wind is nice for keeping the bugs at bay but no fun when in a kayak. Every time you stop paddling to fight a fish the wind pushes you back towards where you started. Getting a bird deposit is also no fun hahahaha but getting sliced by one of those toothy son of a guns no fun either. Good to always be prepared for the inevitable!
@@AnglingSpiders well if you are ever up for a day trip or even just a few hours on a lake close to us in the vessels or a Wade and walk with spinners then let me know. I only really go out by myself due to I have a pretty open schedule compared to others..
Please let me know how far from Calgary Alberta I want to try and what are the regulations I really enjoyed watching u thank u and I have a channel starting soon on UA-cam also is it bassano dam or close to it?
9 is always better than none! Thank you for sharing my friend!
Thanks Mark
Great video! We can't ever forget how much of an workout it can be in the Kayak! Paddle paddle paddle!! Hehe!
Indeed!
A good session in not ideal conditions. Great you had a kit with you, always good to be prepared. Very nice job Sean!
Thanks Larry, appreciate it
great stuff Sean. Always enjoy those awesome pike catches.
Thanks 👍
Well planned, well executed, and awesome results. It's a great video, Sean
Thank you so much, appreciate the comment

Thanks, I try to be. Too many bad experiences paddling against the wind, took awhile, but I finally learned
Great episode Sean!👍
Thanks Ted
Great job! The trolling is really cool as you go from spot to spot!
Thanks, it works great - might as well have the line in the water as much as possible

Thanks, I had bever found that spot until this last trip - I will be back there agin for sure
Ouch! Well, I'm glad he didn't bite you too bad!
Yep, me too!
well done my friend
Thank you
Your workout and your fishing all in one. Lol. Some healthy looking thick pike there. Congrats on another nice haul, pike bite and all.
Thanks so much, appreciate it

Some good action on the pike, nice!
Thanks 👍

Thanks for the update on Glenmore. So great to get back to CV.
I wear the gloves for sun protection too. They probably helped that bite from being worse. Those birds can help locate fish for you.
The gloves definitely helped with the bite. I tend to watch pelicans or loons for fish.
Nice work out there! Glad you had some success at the spots! That was one angry pike! Glad you were able to deal with that wound right away! I would not have been as prepared!😂
Thanks. Actually most of this was in a new spot. I did even better in the afternoon (20 total). Will have to give you an update.
@@AnglingSpiders Very cool! Well done! Can’t wait till we get out soon! Hoping the red deer river clears up or the bow!

Yes, I have some other items in my bag as well. I also often have a change of clothes

Great video Sean!
Thanks so much, really appreciate it
Another great video. I caught five trout and a white fish today all catch and release due to regulations for the river .
Nice, that is a great day
@@AnglingSpiders absolutely was. You should join for a trip. Maybe get you on some trout or at very least great scenery.
That bird island is my nightmare!!
Lol, it is definitely a lot of birds

Thanks, I still have yet to catch a topwater pike. Hoping this year on a calm day

I have been in some pretty shallow areas to get to the fish!
another nice one, too bad the wind didn't cooperate
Yep, but was lucky enough to find a few sheltered areas
i carry some badeges in my tackle box, come in handy for me its not fish teeth but hooks
I have used that kit for hook removal as well

Thanks for the comment. The bugs aren't much of a problem for us so I would rather have no wond for sure
Would you be interested in doing a trout/ pike day or weekend trip on the kayaks and or walk and Wade? Do you fly fish also?
Possibly, it depends on the timing. I can typically only do day trips. I don't fly fish

No, this is Crawling Valley Reservoir. About 80 min from Calgary.
