I appreciate that you've done a sweat test with the foundation. I don't bother wearing foundation as I'm in a hot climate but I've seen good results with this one.
Usually when it's this hot I might just spot conceal without doing a full layer, but you never know-- sometimes ya got plans and places to be more glam! LOL Thank you for watching!
As someone who lives in constant humidity, this was super helpful, thank you! A tip about heavy mascara with straight lashes: once the mascara dries, you can hook your finger under your lashes and push and hold them up against your lids for a few seconds to have them curl naturally! Mascara will hold the curl after this. I do it all the time!
Great review! Thx!! This is in store now at WalMart (at least in Vegas!) so I’m going to pick one up tomorrow - since I’m debating between a cool or neutral - I want to see it in person. Seems to me this has a bit of a “your shade but better” technology as most reviews I’ve seen - the color they chose seems “off” - till it sort of “adjusts” on their skin. Even though I’m in my 60’s I tend to reach for my powder foundations more than cream or liquid. But this is getting so many rave reviews! And your testing it in our high Vegas heat was the “push” I was looking for to give it a try! I saw another reviewer who used the “Moira” shadow in a different shade, so I may hunt one of those down, too. Fun review!
I just came upon your channel, and thanks for the heat test! Love the eyeshadow, and will definitely be buying that. I just started to use some of the ELF products, so I’ll add more to my list😊
Love this thank you! I just purchased a ton from their site... we first ran into it when my daughter and I were at JC Penney's .. the cost and ingredients were my go to..
I’ve had the setting spray for over a month and I have heard to get good staying power you need to set it without shaking. If you want hydration shake it but it won’t really set it
I just bought this and I loved it on my 54 year old skin ❤. I bought one shade lighter than the darkest one causeI'm super tan rn and it's been so crappy out in South Florida but I'm sure I'll be getting more but I use the Neutrogena SPF 100 and then I wear a big floppy hat so I match my Foundation to my chest but I would never be able to pull off that color during the winter time even though we really don't have a winter but I definitely am not as dark in the winter times but yeah I loved the way it looked and blend it out great with my cream blush and I don't really Contour cuz I feel like I'm too old and I use very little concealer but again it Blended effortlessly so that's my opinion lol 😆
Wow I’m super impressed with the foundation!! I’ve been wanting to get something long lasting and more hydrating for summer. I might have missed this but did you use any setting powder over it?
Hi Miranda! Thank you so much for all your work, you are always so helpful and thoughtful and try to cover as much as you possibly can giving all the details ❤ I was wondering if you set the eye shadow primer? I didn’t see you do it in the video but do you generally? Recently I have noticed that my shimmer eyeshadow just won’t stick to the set eye lids
The CAMO Hyrating CC Cream is amazing! I found the perfect match for me in Light 25 N. I also really like the Soft Glam Satin foundation in the same color. The CC cream gives more coverage. They are both great and affordable products. I would really like to hear your opinion about the CC concealer. I have to stay on a budget (except for a few splurges), and think ELF does a great job of providing very high quality, affordable skin care, facial makeup and eye makeup. And of course, they have great makeup application sponges and brushes. I really enjoyed your tutorial/review and subscribed. Looking forward to see more from you. Thank you!
I didn’t have the best experience with the original cc cream but I know they just put out a hydrating one that may work better for me! I do love that it has spf in it. I also find the hydrating camo concealer to work better for me than the matte! Thanks so much for watching and subscribing 😄
I appreciated your wearing it outside in 104 heat, although crazy, since it’s going to be 110 today here (typical), and wanting to see how it handled in the heat outside. I am excited to see you try this. How does this hold up in the heat compared to L’Oréal infallible and Maybelline superstay skin tint? I have combo skin but this girl sweats buckets!
Maybelline is a step up with coverage (and staying power of that coverage) but if someone doesn’t need full, this is a great lightweight option! I’ve tested the Maybelline more extensively, especially in humid climates, but this held up well even after my sweaty walk.
New sub! You covered things nobody else does! Did the eye shadow primer make your eyes watery? After almost using a whole tube of Milani, I realized it doesn't like my eyes! My lids are oily too, so I definitely need a primer. Dominique Sache swears by the ELF Quad of bronzer/contour. She'll even use it as eye shadow at times. Sorry, elf makes a couple and I don't know what one she uses. The look was great on you. I'm 65 and still struggle with acne. Yes, you read that right! I can only use a Neutrogena foundation, but this new elf foundation looks so wonderful on everyone that's tried it. I may have to buy some and wear it on short makeup wearing days. Thanks!
Thanks so much, Lori!! I haven't had an issue with the primer making my eyes water, but neither does the Milani. I've tried the bronzer quads in the past, they're great!

I live in Florida and it’s become my holy grail foundation. Would you say the new elf one is as good as the maybelline skin tint? I’m looking for something to use as a second foundation option
Maybelline definitely has better coverage but I feel like this is just as comfortable (if not more lightweight) -- just less coverage! Still a very natural finish that's super even.
I’m on day 2 trying this foundation and I did day 1 with a brush and day 2 with a sponge and I’m really struggling with it getting cakey and/or breaking down by the end of the day 😑 still trying to figure it out!

One thing I would recommend is waiting a little bit longer between moisturizer and foundation-- sometimes when I put on foundation too quickly after moisturizer it can change the consistency. I tested the elf soft glam again today. I wasn't going to because it melted off my face before. I was going to save it for fall and winter. But then my go-to Maybelline skin tint melted off my face. I also experienced this foundation drying down darker and pinker. Oxidation and dry down are different (like someone else mentioned)! It sucks bc the shade 32 Medium Neutral is a great olive shade until it dries down 😢
Yes! Wasn't aware they were different as I feel like I've heard the term regarding shades that adjust color once applied. I do feel like their shade chart refers to the dried down shade though.
This foundation always looks great on everyone who has tried it! I may have to try it out 😊. Every time I use an Elf complexion product my face breaks out, so I’m scared to try it. I’ll have to give it a bit and see if anybody else has this problem with the foundation

I really love ELF foundations but I am devoted to the $6 glass bottles with the pump called Satin foundation......great products. and I hate those cheap squeezy tubes they are promoting in the drugstore market of make up. Hard to control how much comes out too.
Funny, I actually find the squeeze bottles to be more precise than pumps because I can control how hard I'm squeezing lol! Different strokes! ❤️ Thank you for watching!!
I was just told that they changed it to SlashedBeauty15 . I asked for them to change it back to SlashedBeauty so it should work now on non-sale products!
This foundation is only OK. I have dry skin and this is very thick and fairly emollient. On very hot days, this makes my face sweat far more than usual. The foundation does not breathe.
It's not really oxidizing, it's drying down. Like how lotion is white but applies clear. Oxidation takes a long time, much longer than just a day of wear. That mascara is my favorite though.
Perhaps this was a term that was coopted by the beauty reviewers incorrectly, but either way, it dries down to be darker/pinker than when first applied 😁 I did a control swatch on my arm, waited about 5-10 minutes and then swatched it again and it was at least 2 shades deeper-- so people should keep it in mind when choosing a shade if they're making snap decisions! So glad you like the mascara! Do you experience flaking at all?
As I’ve been told! Perhaps that word has been used incorrectly all this time but yes, it dries down deeper than it looks initially out of the tube. I did two swatches side by side, one 5 min after the first and the dried down shade is deeper/pinker than an initial swatch!
Despite the grammar police…can we just please keep calling it “oxidizing” 🤦🏻♀️ This is the word that’s been established in the beauty community for decades, to describe a foundation that dries down darker. It’s an easy, useful, one word, to tell people the foundation gets darker.
@@EnvyBlu chemical reaction and drying down are two different things. Tbh, some foundations do have chemicals in them that oxidize. You can be the comment police! Have a blessed day.

@@slashedbeauty And that's especially important in the heat!
Your moira code isn't working for me
Thanks for letting me know, I’m getting the same problem. I’ll double check with them and report back!
I was just told that they changed it to SlashedBeauty15 . I asked for them to change it back to SlashedBeauty so it should work now on non-sale products!
I just got back from Texas Sunday night and girl let me tell you. 🔥💦💧🥵 9:39
This foundation is only OK. I have dry skin and this is very thick and fairly emollient. On very hot days, this makes my face sweat far more than usual. The foundation does not breathe.
I didn't have that experience in the heat but also to consider Las Vegas is drier heat!
🙄 unsolicited information 🙄🤦🏻♀️
You would not get me to walk in 104 temperatures
It was rough, I did a little less than a mile but I had to push the makeup! 😝
It doesn’t oxidize. It dries down.
@@EnvyBlu boo!
@@EnvyBlu chemical reaction and drying down are two different things. Tbh, some foundations do have chemicals in them that oxidize. You can be the comment police! Have a blessed day.
Your lashes are beautiful, looks like falsie
I loved the effect!
