Back to Black and Rehab are really good songs and I'm not too crazy about Tears Dry on Their Own although I love the song that it samples which is obviously Ain’t No Mountain High(the most covered song ever), but my favorite songs are Me and Mr Jones, Love is a Losing Game, You Know I’m No Good, Stronger Than Me, and Valerie. I hope Amy doesn't get the Blonde treatment.
*Happy by Pharrell Williams* it is for me. The voice it is for me only because he’s the voice of an elephant for child’s movie *Sing.* 🤦🏽♀️💁🏽♀️🙈 And because I love the message within his video for his *Happy* song. 🎶
Apologies to Rhianna, but whenever I hear "Umbrella", I can't help but think of Tom Holland's epic dance sequence on "Lip Sync Battle". Pretty sure I'm not the only one, either.😉
I'd like to give a big shout out to Nelly Furtardo's Promiscuous as it showcased her range from wholesome folk pop to smooth talking party girl. Sure critics may have called her a sell-out, but Nelly's new sexy image showed some sophistication and she was a young mom during the Loose era.

Good question. I was born in the early sixties. I'm a fervent music listener and I've heard some great music that was created in the last 24 years. Almost nothing on this list is in that category. So, best songs of the century? If that was true, it would be incredibly sad.
I'd still prefer Get Lucky over Happy. Random Access Memory has a lot of bangers, and although I'm not very religious, I would still prefer Old Town Road over Montero. Old Town Road is a cultural moment smashing records after records. And where is Love Me Like You Do? Just like Toxic, LMLYD is still appreciated especially the new fans. Love it or hate, it's one of the best and biggest Max Martin-produced hit. Where are Royals by Lorde? Born To Die by Lana Del Rey? even Bad Guy by Billie Eilish? Lana's Born To Die was considered authentic by many critics in pop. When Lorde dropped Royals in 2013 it became an instant hit because of its charisma and unique musical productions. It's a breath of fresh air. Bad Guy is also one of the most memorable pop songs of this century. Through this Billie became a huge star and has opened a lot of doors to many upcoming artists born in the 21st century including Olivia Rodrigo. Not to mention, Avril Lavigne's Complicated? She brought back the pop-punk back in the mainstream and influenced a lot of stars in the comings years. Let's not forget NSYNC's music in the early 2000s, Kesha in the early 2010s, and of course Nelly Furtado and Timbaland's hits after hits collabs. And really? Shape of You? Higher than Rolling In The Deep? and Rehab? Shape Of You deserves a spot here but higher than some of the classics here is a bit off. Also, if Britney, Beyonce, and Kylie are here, Madonna should too. her early 2000s hit, Music and Hung Up from her Confessions On The Dancefloors proved that she really is the Queen of Pop. (Not a fan of Ariana and Sia but I think 7 Rings or No Tears Left To Cry as well as Cheap Thrills or Chandelier deserve at least an honorable mention. These songs have a huge moments in pop this century as well)

“Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)” is one of the best Beyonce songs of all time. For over 15 years, millions of people in general can’t stop listening to this song. LOL
I remember being at karaoke at an anime con and someone and her friends started doing this song when halfway through the performance after she sang, "Put a ring on it", her boyfriend, who was in the front row, actually got on one knee and proposed right then and there. She lost it and said yes. One of my fav con memories. The guy apparently got con staff permission to do that. Suffice to say, she didn't finish the song, she was too overwhelmed lol.
"Hips don't lie" by Shakira and "Happy" by Pharrell Williams are my top pics. Happy thursday afternoon, Kirsten. Take care and God bless you, greetings from Colombia to you as well.
The 2000s had so many classic songs. While the 2010s and 2020s had their hits too, nothing can beat the 2000s. With Back to Black coming out in 4 months, they either need to give Amy Winehouse the respect she didn't deserve while she was alive or shelf the movie altogether because no one was demanding for a biopic to begin with.
You know why music from the year 2010 or even 2020 cannot beat music from the year 2000, it's because before we listened to music for music's sake. While today the music market is saturated and there is no originality, very industrialized to please everyone without losing its essence by applying it. The music of now is mass music.

Thank you for the update, MsMojo..!! Awesome collection of the best songs of the 21st century. I don't like to listen to the songs that are popular nowadays, because they don't sound like good songs to listen to.
So here's the thing, Madonna had 40 hit songs in the 80's, and she didn't really start making her impact on music, etc, until either the 3rd or 4th year of the decade, and 50 hits in the 90's, so close to 100 hits in 20 years. This list is but 20 entries long, and while Madonna had some great songs in the 00's, she wasn't necessarily breaking any new/fresh/innovative ground. She wasn't irrelevant in the 00's and neither was her music, not by any stretch of the imagination, but she certainly wasn't as influential and relevant as she had been in the previous 2 decades. Like I mentioned, this list is only 20 spaces long, and the people who compiled this list didn't feel that any of Madonna's 00's tracks met the criteria that they were basing their choices upon. Happy New Year!
I second this, just dreadful, no Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, and nothing from Cher either, not even Believe! But surprisingly Kylie Minogue made it (she's considered the gay icon of Europe and Australia) it just shows who is sponsoring these types of videos. They sold me with Kylie, can't say I'm displeased about "Mother" making it to this list.
The fact that you compared "Call Me Maybe" and "Somebody That I Used to Know" and didn't pick the Gotye track for this list is mind boggling. That song is unique and iconic in a way that will not be soon forgotten. Whereas "Call Me Maybe" is just...fine? It's pop, sure. It's catchy and fun but there's nothing particularly special about it.
This list is ridiculous Can't Feel My Face is better than Blinding Lights Bad Romance better than Poker Face The first two were ridiculous (#9,10) Umbrella??? Really? 😂 Single Ladies?? JOKE

I don't get it how Single Ladies and Can't Get Out Of My Head was placed BELOW Blinding Lights...
Uptown Funk Is so overrated
Toxic deserve The #1
Thank you for the update, MsMojo..!! Awesome collection of the best songs of the 21st century. I don't like to listen to the songs that are popular nowadays, because they don't sound like good songs to listen to.
Somebody That I Used to Know not being at the top of this list let alone not even numbered is WILD.
No Madonna and with Harry Styles on the list? Irrelevant list, bye
Definitely think you include Levitating and Dynamite in this collection!
HIPS DON'T LIE is the STANDARD
GARBAGE list, HUNDREDS of better songs
WAIT WHAT?
WHERE IS "PSY - GANGNAM STYLE"?
No way You have missed it!
No Madonna?? Seriously?? !
HUNG UP?!?!
Wrong century. Seriously.
really? Music (the top song ww in 2000), Hung Up (#1 in more than 40 official charts ww), or 4 Minutes (14 weeks on world chart)? @@lisadial9740
Think you could do a Top 20 Eurovision songs of the century so far?
You left out Madonna and Michael Jackson! Their impact on Pop and record sales was undeniable.
Hung Up or Music by Madonna
Honorable mention to Katy Perry, with her other song, dark horse featuring Juicy J
Bad Romance not even being an honorable mention? Wow. People make choices, but that was a choice.
Bad Romance in an honorable mention is ridiculous.
It's too bad that Amy Winehouse sang about not wanting to go to rehab, but rehab is really what she needed 😢 RIP
Florida is the Sunshine State. California is the Golden State.
My personal favorite of Amy Winehouse is Back to Black, but kudos to this list - well done!
Should have been in top 5
There should be some Madonna songs there, like Music or Hung Up.
I want my childhood back 😭😭
hung up !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Havana and senorita deserves to be hrtr..roar dark horse and sorry not sorry demi deserves too
Ngl single ladies should be higher than umbrella just my opinion
Bruno Mars is soooooo overrated
“Call Me Maybe” is also one of the best songs in early 2010s. ❤
Getting away from that song was impossible short of going off the grid back then. It was everywhere!
This list is ridiculous
Can't Feel My Face is better than Blinding Lights
Bad Romance better than Poker Face
The first two were ridiculous (#9,10)
Umbrella??? Really? 😂
Single Ladies?? JOKE
No bad romance/no shallow most awarded song of all time sold 45m copies 1.6b views 2.2b streams/and poker face on #13?????? Andrew Shake it offers #7 bruno Mars the first??????????? Like what? Actually Bad.R deserve to be one top5 and shallow top10 andra then poker face also not a single song by Madonna and no diamonds by riri
*best of the century for USA
loads of them from the UK and Canada
No Ariana Grande? Poor list
I feel like “Crazy In Love” by Beyoncé should have been in the top 5. Honorable mentions; “One Thing” by Amerie, “Try Again” by Aaliyah, “Bootylicious” by Destiny’s Child.
My top pics are dynamite bts, shake it off and lady Gaga bad romance
Two glaring omissions from this list: Hung Up (Madonna) and Crazy In Love (Beyonce) - two perfect pop songs
