Joe this hits home for me. I'll be 37 in a month and I've lost everything! I'm going thru a separation, apart from my children, lost my place, lost my job. In 2015 I won $251,000 in the Michigan lottery and I blew it ALL. Now Im staying in a spare bedroom at my sisters house. I've been drunk trying to numb the pain more days than not. I have struggled hard with regret and depression but after hearing this! After hearing your words and the Gods honest truth! I WILL be the success story that you spoke of, the guy who completely fucked his life up and gets it back together. Better than ever. One day at a time, starting with writing down my plan to succeed and doing the work!! Thank you!! God bless 🙏
I am 8 months clean from drug addiction just cried on the way home listening to this in the car after the realisation I have become someone I respect, I have become the Hero in my own movie❤️ Thankyou for the video 🙏🏼 goosebumps
Bam Jimenez That’s right. Because pain tells you you’re doing something difficult. Difficult means you’re conquering something new, and so you’ll grow stronger.
that exact part of this has kept my head in the game both working out now and with the business i’m starting. i will succeed & do the work and continue to write this shit down. no more fear of success or fear of failure, just make the jump and rise above like a warrior
Me too. I was delivering a pizza, driving as the sun went down in front of my eyes. And all of a sudden I felt tears coming down my face as I realized he was talking about me
Listening to Joe's podcast and the awesome people he has on, i too turned my life around. Lost 50 pounds, studied my ass of and am now close to finishing college. Videos like these contain very strong messages, but people should recognise there is no such thing as a sentence or a video that will give you the motivation needed to turn your life around, this you can only find yourself when you start the journey to become the hero of your life. But its so important to start it, however hard and unpleasant it is. I'm very lucky to live in a world where you can find content like this because Joe speaks a universal truth here in my opinion. Im not a hero of my life yet, but i went from being a bad guy to a good guy, and am striving to become a hero. You can do it people, believe in yourselves!
I suffer from a crippling anxiety disorder , i fight it every single day. Never let it beat me until i left my job over it , ironically i found comfort in making, turned my garage into a workshop and made , made and made until i started to sell my items. I started a business that i LOVE and doing it very well. It helps my mind but i do get down days but PUSH through it, i won't let it win or beat me. Money won't make depression better or anxiety any less , but the motivation does make it easier , it works. In the words of a certain sports brand JUST DO IT , and do it now. Thanks joe for the motivation, the man says it all in a nutshell.
Today i change my life the gym was closed yesterday so i spent the day writing down my goals and changes i want to make in my life as im currently in a dark place i broke up with my girl and got very depressed and lost any appetite to eat or to even get out of bed but im coming back, il come back here every 3 month for the next 12 months and update wish me luck guys mans going to the top i know this shit👊🏽.
Anyone who sees this comment. Learn from the dude above. Don’t tell everyone what you’re going to do, just do it. If you go around telling everyone what you plan to do you’ll feel like you’ve already done it. You’ll feel accomplished even though you’ve done nothing yet. Keep your head down and just work. Let your results speak.
Same shit happened to me too man. It fucked me up really badly. I have hope that the universe will bring us back together one day. I just need to work as hard as I can. “The harder you work, the luckier you get”
MoosePolo Nahhhh bro fuck that shit , you will never move forward if you thinking like that, move on bro keep working on your self, work out, find habits and be the best you..
Damn bro I'm going threw marriage separation and just got my own crib with nothing in it. Very little food, no amenities. I have my dog (6 year old pit) the kids won't talk to me because they're on the mom's side but it's okay I love them. Hot dammit I hit rock bottom. I know it's going to get better I just hope I put myself into that mind over matter and recup quickly
Waw! You now have the perfect platform for your very own routine! Fock furniture, fock "extra" cash, fock excess garbage food! Meal prep. Wake up at 5. Go for a dripping sweat run. Happily go to work. Hit the gym real hard after work. Join a sports team after 2 months of hard work. Like men's league soccer, basketball tag football etc.(this gives you an objective to work out towards.) Fock(bang) females who will surely throw the couch at you now that you are on top of your game and dont give a fock. If you have to spend more than $30 in gas and drinks/food before you get the couch drop the b.tch and keep growing yourself. Stop being a b.tch!! Be a focking lion you c.nt!!! Always see the positive, the opportunity, and possibilities that are in every experience!! Heard of MGTOW? Be a MAN!! Not just an adult male! Get the fock to work!
I’ve listened to shit multiple times in a row and honestly it’s like something woke up inside me. If your reading this it’ll get better, it’s all about mindset nd yourself. Your not worthless, your not a nobody. Make yourself your own Main Charecter of your story… I love you and you got this 🙏🏽
Hey Joe this is Travis lenander l just wanted to say I love your videos and I truly am becoming the hero of My Own Story after 17 years of meth addiction 5 months sober been through treatment I'm really working hard at it I have a really strong program and I can't wait to life the Truman take place so I'm pushing it to truly take place cuz I know nothing's going to happen if I don't just sit around and wait
keep it up the first year is ruff but it gets so fucking easy after that , then the dreams stop. go to NA meeting or church if your the religious type, take care and push
Tay Tee you also have to redefine what personally defines happiness and success means for you. And not allow a general POV of how society defines those and remember that society’s limited POV’s are the LAST not the ONLY opinions of how success and happiness is defined
It's tuff but it gets easier as time goes by I used for probably 30 years just have a reason like a child or living a long life! Stay away from people that use I know it's hard say hi & bye. I learn when I hang with users I want to use in the beginning.
Remember people... there are many who watch hundreds of motivation videos, and do nothing with it. (As I have myself) but make a change to that. Be the one who makes a change, the important thing to remember is that motivation is crap and doesn’t last, you just gotta find that drive. When times get tough, the tough get going.
Motivation is bullshit. You will never get none done through "motivation" Motivation won't be there when you have been running x amount of miles and your body is telling you to stop. That's when resistance and sheer toughness comes. DO IT.
You woke me up and the first day I finally gave a shit I applied for a job and fast forward two weeks later I just got the phone call I got it! Im nervous af but I'm excited. Thanks Joe.
Way to go bro! Keep it up...find your way to jocko Willink podcast...and get after it! I was 270 now I’m an ultra runner at 165 and shredded...joe speaks the truth and his shit works...
6 months ago, I had just gotten home after being discharged from the Army during basic training. I got a job as a dishwasher at a local restaurant, making 9 bucks an hour and still would barely show up because I hated myself so much and would just sit at home and mope and feel sorry for myself. I got fired from that job, my family practically disowned me, and my girlfriend was ready to leave me. A new company came to my town, I got on out there on the ground floor as a press operator, and now make about 20 bucks an hour and work Mon-Fri. I don’t know if this is what I want to do forever, but it’s what I need to do for now. If I can go from being a washout loser who can’t even wash dishes to being one of the 10 people in a warehouse trained on every position in less than a year, than you can do anything. It’s not always about what you want to do forever, it’s sometimes about what needs to be done now. If you’re not happy, find what makes you happy. Do your best, be a good person, and keep on moving. The minute you stop trying is the minute it all goes to shit
This remains one of the most impactful UA-cam videos for me. If I ever feel like I’m heading off course or just dipping a little too low, this is where I come

@@redknight9740 you're name reminded me of a chess tournament I was playing in where my opponent brought a chess set with white and red pieces. Each game can last around 5 hours and this one did. I had a splitting headache from those red knights.
To this day, I still listen almost everyday. It still impacts my life in different stages. Unreal how someone’s words concrete itself in someone’s mind. Thank you again!
Broke my pelvis in the gym 2 months ago being reckless, I started walking again a few days ago, after loosing 8 kilos I'm going to come back better than ever, stay focused and live your life like a movie, great video. Have a great day everyone! Be your best! 😊
“ 90% of it is just showing up” the truest thing I’ve heard in a long time. For all those things I used to overthink and wory over, if it was a new job or an application that I was getting ready for the worst part are the worries before the fact. When you get there and start doing what you know you can and should do the worst is already behind you. There were times during college where I had to travel abroad and do all types of jobs and the thoughts of how will things plan out had me so uptight and restless till I got there and started getting shit done. I’ve accomplished a lot of things in my life and often I forget to tap myself on the back for it, I think it comes from my parents never really valuing themselves and their time, always putting others first. Now I know, no one will do anything for me and no one will care if things don’t work out, and that’s how it should be. No one owes us anything in this life, whatever you want, you have to work for it and the satisfaction when you eventually earn it is priceless. Who wants to lay around the whole day and do nothing ? That’s some weak shit, feeling worthless serving no purpose to society. I had loser friends in the past that complained how bad things are happening even though they did nothing bad to anyone, but they didn’t do anything good to anyone either. Push yourself as hard as you can in everything and when you get results out of it you’ll eventually want to do it. People think it all comes so easy for the successful one without ever having seen the time, struggle and sweat that goes into the shit. Stay positive and motivated and fuck everyone elses oppinion, they’re gonna talk regardless.
I had a stroke after working in aviation for over thirty years. I kinda sat around watching UA-cam videos for a few months, then thought its time to get off my ass. It was winter so I started building an airplane in my basement. When spring finally hit I went on a 5000 mile motorbike trip to visit a friend and had the time of my life riding through the desert. I did a bunch of home renos that I didn't have time for when I was working. and now I'm planning a couple other bike trips. Considering retraining but I'm nervous of starting school again at over fifty , funny how I will ride across a country by myself but I'm scared of going to school. Gotta get over that one. Oh ya the planes not done yet but I'm still plugging away. Thanks for the video
Joe Rogan you have helped me overcome my anxiety and depression due to previous incarceration thank you and I’m finally going to drop some new music and it’s all thanks to you
Was 255 lbs a month ago. Been working out, biking about 50-60 miles a week, cut calories down to a third of what I used to, been doing jumping jacks, push ups, jogging, different ab workouts, etc. I’m tired of being like this. I want to be my best self. I haven’t been below 200 lbs since I was 13, I’m now 18. 255 a month ago and now I’m down to 237 and still going. I’m using all my extra time in this quarantine to isolate myself and really throw myself into the mindset of making a change. I’m staying way more hydrated. I’m not gonna let life pass me by any longer and you don’t have to either. You’re not gonna let this bullshit beat you down and you’re not gonna sit around and wish something were another way. You’re gonna go get it, because you have the strength to. Claim your throne and be your hero. The thing about rock bottom is the only way to go is up.
Abso-fucking-lutely. Feeling nervous and scared about doing something actually productive or just good, is nothing but a hormone, you having a fear of failure. Gotta tell your body to fuck off and do it.
Yes. Agreed. No matter if you're an MMA fan or not, Joe just spits realness for human beings of any age. Anyone can profit from Joe's wisdom, if they are honest with themselves. In fact, being honest with yourself is often half the challenge for making any real progress. It's certainly a good place to start.
With 1 exception, no comedian has ever made me laugh harder than Joe Rogan. Likewise, I've never been training & had the speaker in the background bring tears to my eyes, LIKE JOE ROGAN. In all seriousness, the past 2yrs have been challenging on an astronomical level...not even counting Covid. Long story short, I ROYALLY screwed my life up, got it back, then jacked it up again. I realize I'm Mr. Nobody from Pittsburgh, but Joe Rogan has brought GENUINE laughter & smiles to my face...one of the few to do so other than Kinison, like he has.
@@jasonleech1254 sometimes it's good too be able to talk to other like minded people that dont bring u down or roll their eyes at u because they are bitter. Keep it up brother and dont fucking look back! 💪☝️👊
It’s been a long time for me that I fell down , and I stayed there for a year now. I looked at myself broken because I was at my best and was rejected and humiliated by my so called loved ones. It literally broke me, broke my heart, my spirit, my drive, my motivation. I just made everyone uncomfortable and I was SO alone. I had to learn to love myself I have to stand alone. I need to be proud of myself for myself. If they do not like it so be it. This is not living . I am a ghost. I will get back up , I will do my best, I will be proud of myself. If they are uncomfortable ? That is their problem. I cannot control ANYONE but ME! I WANT TO TRULY LIVE AN AUTHENTIC LIFE! I want to be proud of myself. I will rise up tomorrow and GO BE ALIVE! Thank you for the beautiful words of wisdom.
Something that helps get you motivated when you don't want to do something is visualize your goal and ask yourself, *If I were motivated, what would I be doing right now?* Visualizing yourself being motivated to work and accomplishing your goals helps you recall the feeling of being in that state of mind. Even if it takes some time, don't let yourself lose those motivated thoughts. Keep reminding yourself of what motivated you would be doing, you'll get there. NOW GO OUT AND MAKE IT A REALITY.
If you are stuck, get up and just do something. You don't need to do everything, just something. I was 120 lbs (55kgs) overweight/obese and had been overweight my whole life. One day I just said "nah, today we start changing shit up." (I'm down 75lbs/35kgs by now). Don't go fckn all in right away, make small changes and progress daily, and make it into your new normal, what ever task you are facing. Then keep progressing to new normals, and do the things that improves YOU, in your way. Your idea of happiness and success might not be the same idea as the guy next door. Do you, do it now.
When you have tears stream down your face at a job you have to talk yourself into getting out of bed for, just to get there and look around with the sense of overwhelming discomfort knowing you can throw in the towel and walk away at any moment but you won't because that's not you. Sure i need the money but what i really want is the struggle to make me stronger to make the next struggle that much easier. Thanks joe. This is what i needed.
You better quit that job because it isn’t healthy for you. A job isn’t everything. There’s so much shit out there. Go out and find it. Crying and having to talk yourself out of quitting every day at work is NOT HEALTHY. Tell your boss the job is toxic and walk out.
I battled a terrible drug addiction from 16 to 22. I still remember the morning I woke up and decided to make a change. I use the same determination I had to quit that lifestyle that I do now in my career. I’ve been promoted 4 times since 24 and I’m 29 now. Everyone can do it, it’s all about how hungry you are.
For the last 2 years 2017 and 18 I been on my journey of self discipline and discovery .November last year I began playing this every time I work out and it’s heavily influenced me everywhere else in my life in the most positive way possible
I needed this. I spent my life in and out of major depression, I have a speech deficiency so I have difficulty talking as easily as normal people do. I had a severe stutter as a kid to where I could barely get through 2 words without sounding like a broken record or a CD that's skipping. I had to spend years developing a higher vocabulary along with breathing and hidden tapping techniques to learn to talk somewhat fluent and eventually hide that I have a stutter in the presence of other people altogether. Always being the butt end of a joke for people gets old I tell ya, but no one's truly ever gonna protect you but you. I've had a rough life, a real shit show at times I tell ya. Drug addicted psychologically abusive parents, a destroyed family, homelessness, numerous full mental breakdowns, physical injuries, jail, not getting to see my children, and even overcoming my own drug addictions. I can truly say I'm a much better person now than I what I used be and the only person who ever got me outta those places that I didn't wanna be in was me. You truly do gotta push yourself through some shit in this world if you really wanna find out who and what you really are (and what your true potential is). This video is good advice and it's so true. You gotta pretty much learn to be your very own drill sergeant no lie.
I needed this today. I had looked at porn earlier today, even though I shouldn't (and I've done so many times) but I am trying not to look at it anymore. I don't have a problem with it except for the fact that I'm trying to not look at it as much as I used to. But now, after seeing this video, I'm even more determined to just get my day back on track and continue with writing my stories that I write every day. 1000 words a day, every day.
Friendly reminder that millions of people watch these everyday and rarely anyone does anything about it! sounds nice right now, and I'm fired up for change, but what about tomorrow and the next day? Let's make a change and actually take this speech and put into practice not today NOW. It doesn't matter what you've done to get here now take those lessons and move on don't DWELL any more!. Anxiety can take over my life sometimes and that is why I am not present im living on what did and what "will" happen. That needs to change. MAKE CHANGE NOW. Hope everyone has a good day and puts this into action
Some people need to forgive themselves first before asking for forgiveness. I wrote down a workout plan yesterday before seeing this video my adventure starts Monday. Yippee
This video gave me goose bumps. It hit home when he talks about being ok with being uncomfortable , that's just a part of life. I used to box and my coach would always tell me you are not ready till you feel those butterflies in your stomach. It would always make me feel good during the worst moments before a fight, thinking it meant it was going to be a good night for me. This made me realize I should feel the same when I'm going through uncomfortable times in life and embrace those moments.
Remember watching this when i was in middle school-I’m now twenty one, and this is still some of the most valuable advice I have ever gotten. Thank you Mr, Joe Rogan and this channel.
@@itzajdmting My plan is going on 1 hour to 2 hours training a day. Some days like 1 day in a period of 1 - 2 weeks I rest and walk for an hour or more. Mixing different sports, so it's fun, eating healthy. Feeling better each day, I love my training. On my first day of the rest of my life
Came back to watch this, been bettering myself for the last 4 months and wow my life has changed. Don’t wait around guys get the fuck up and get started, you’re only wasting time.
I became an ICU nurse at the beginning of the year. I'm so stressed out. I often come home and cry myself to sleep... But when I realized these feelings are all part of the process I can somehow bare it more. After 6 months I'm starting to get better at the job...I'm finding things quicker and intervening. This has been the biggest challenge of my life but I'm going to try my damned hardest to succeed...I will not quit.
@@GroundbreakGames You know if you were are decent person you could of had corrected me nicely cause it's auto typing from these smart phones and I'm sure there were many people who spotted it but they saw that it was an innocent mistake, don't think you are are genius dude get a life and stop playing games!
I’ll always respect Joe for being true to his nature, going against the grain (when it’s healthy) and reminding us that struggle equals growth - a very easy thing to forget in this comfortable age
First few times I watched this….didn’t realize it was Billy himself and was in shock. You sir, have a gift and I for one am glad you found it and have shared it with the world.
So I just read John Jospeh’s The PMA Effect, Rich Roll’s Finding Ultra, and David Goggins Can’t Hurt Me, and MAN if you need inspiration, motivation and DRIVE - READ THOSE BOOKS! I can’t say enough about these three people (and of course Rogan and this video is along those same lines). I am 48, and have dealt with drugs and alcohol most of my life, came from a single mom home and grew up feeling insecure and “soft” - I am finally “adulting” and got my shit half way together but it’s been a STRUGGLE. I have been to rock bottom and back, and just in the past couple of months those books have helped me get my motivation and focus to new levels. If you are struggling, read them and TAKE HEART! It’s never too late. I have never really been a runner, but to motivate myself to do it and get more cardio in my life I just signed my wife and I up for our first 5k in October and plan to do a tough murder next season. Maybe more challenges beyond that. I hope you all find the drive you need to take you to new exciting places in your lives. My son just got out of jail and I tried to get him to read the books and change his attitude but it’s been a lost cause. Don’t be like my son. Don’t think you know everything. Be open minded to new ideas, new motivations and GET BUSY PUTTING IN THAT WORK! And keep that PMA! 🔥🔥🤟🤟
I use to drink heavily and i have heard some of this speech before, well just the part about imagining your part of a movie. I was the biggest piece of shit when i was drinking and when i heard that part about imagining your in a movie and being the star of that movie and what would i do to change up the movie and be the star and the hero of my life. I stopped drinking and went back to something that has never done me wrong in any way, the HERB. I haven't had a drink in over a year and i have been working out and learning so much about everything that i had missed out on when i was drinking and i am so happy to be using my time to do things i enjoy and to learn things and i am never looking back to drinking again. Just have to work on quitting smoking cigarettes. One thing at a time. Thanks Joe, i appreciate your words of wisdom
Thats exactly the road i am right now. I changed my whole life situation to be more energetic, healthy, stronger, faster, determined to reach greatness and tell my story on the other side. I will learn and adapt to overcome any circumstances that stand between me and my destiny. Thank you for spreading this message. Peace

Meal prep. Wake up at 5. Go for a dripping sweat run. Happily go to work. Hit the gym real hard after work. Join a sports team after 2 months of hard work. Fock(bang) females who will surely throw the couch at you now that you are on top of your game and dont give a fock. If you have to spend more than $30 in gas and drinks/food before you get the couch drop the b.tch and keep growing yourself.

You will never get none done through "motivation"
Motivation won't be there when you have been running x amount of miles and your body is telling you to stop.
That's when resistance and sheer toughness comes.
DO IT.
Discipline = Freedom
Couldn't have said it better

Stay up brother🤘🏼
The past 4 years for me has been full of chronic illness and injuries. I am finally starting to get everything back in check and its so freaking nice.
Amen
This remains one of the most impactful UA-cam videos for me. If I ever feel like I’m heading off course or just dipping a little too low, this is where I come
WRITE IT DOWN...it's the FIRST step! You are 42% more likely to do something if you write it down!
I'm sure it helps but I must ask where did you get such specific statistics??
From a study done by psychology professor Dr. Gail Matthew... here is a huff post article referring to it... www.huffingtonpost.com/marymorrissey/the-power-of-writing-down_b_12002348.html
67.87698% of statistics are made up . I believe yours however 😏
And you're 58% more likely to do something if you don't write it down! Yes I get it now!!
@@redknight9740 you're name reminded me of a chess tournament I was playing in where my opponent brought a chess set with white and red pieces. Each game can last around 5 hours and this one did. I had a splitting headache from those red knights.
I listen to this everyday at 4:00 in the morning. Literally has helped me significantly. So thank you for this!!
Hope you’re well
“ 90% of it is just showing up” the truest thing I’ve heard in a long time.
Joe Rogan you have helped me overcome my anxiety and depression due to previous incarceration thank you and I’m finally going to drop some new music and it’s all thanks to you
You can’t cancel someone who has changed the lives of and motivated millions.
Rogan is the 🐐...I have goosebumps right now
Yes.
Hmmmm. I’ve just realized I have no respect for myself. Took 38 years to figure that out. Thanks Joe. So I guess this is day one then. :)
I believe in you Jason
Same here man! Best of luck to ya on your journey....ya got this :D

“Tough times never last, but tough people do.”
2 years ago I listened to this every time I went for a jog as I was preparing for my first boxing match. I owe part of my success to this alone
Something that helps get you motivated when you don't want to do something is visualize your goal and ask yourself,
*If I were motivated, what would I be doing right now?*
Visualizing yourself being motivated to work and accomplishing your goals helps you recall the feeling of being in that state of mind.
This is beautiful.
21 years old and the respect is really low, but it's to change. We live only once, stop holding yourself down.
I listen to this, every single morning at 4 am.
Was it a good porn?
Same here! Keep it up every day! Fuck yeah
I 🖤 porn

That kid running gives me goosebumps knowing that he dosent give one and is going to change is 1000% courage!
AestheticNutrition&Fitness People often say motivation doesn’t last, well nether does bathing That’s we recommend it daily.
Stress creates growth. It's how I handle it. Day 1 a new day today I get to do this life over again. How can I be a better version of me.
Remember watching this when i was in middle school-I’m now twenty one, and this is still some of the most valuable advice I have ever gotten. Thank you Mr, Joe Rogan and this channel.
The mind is the most powerful tool we have, but the hardest to master. We have to practice doing so every day. That is our job! #PersonalReminder

Officially my new favorite video for motivation. Exercising the brain, the most important 🙏
Doing difficult things is good for me, if it's easy then it bores me to death!

Anyone reading this. Let’s go to work. You CAN DO IT !!
Heck yeah! And so can you! 👏
Thanks Joe Rogan this is something that helps me have hope.
