WOW! Is this really you? This is my favorite Christmas special of all time and a huge part of my childhood memories. I was 9 years old when this originally aired and we watched it every Christmas for years to come. It is YOUR part in the finale that gets stuck in my head the most. I know your every nuance and this whole show like the back of my hand. Since I found it on youtube last week I have been playing it nearly non-stop. I wish there was a DVD to buy. I have worked in the entertainment industry for some time, but I never heard such a powerful, uplifting medely like this. Little, Carrie McDowell will steal your heart.. The music industry could take a lesson from all of them..
We recorded this in 1987 and it was our Thanksgiving Day tree trimming music for years the tape is starting to get a little worn but we still love it. I wish we could find it on DVD it was awesome and the music is timeless....
So many excuses for why most performers lipsynch today, but this is proof that when you have real talent, you can sing live 24/7. And Anita Pointer is so beautiful here.
I remember being a kid watching this with my Mom on her Floor model T.V there will never be a group like this on stage again. When I say they Tore the stage down the whole night 😍😍😍 This was the Best Memory I have as a child and I relive it every year when it was real voices in music 💯
This was awesome! It is a beautiful spectacle and musically pleasing! I wish they would release this program on DVD or digitally. Natalie and Stephanie were on fire!
I missed those days.... they got down for their crown, they sung their asses off back in the day, they would put some of these singers of today to shame.... I am glad that some are still around to see their labor of love !!
It'll get better in Our Society especially in the Black Community we just have to believe and have FAITH in GOD cuz only him can make All things possible with the good people to enhance and better our Society more today than ever before AMEN.
It is a shame we don't see shows like this anymore. Now all we see is half naked singers on stage and we wonder why our young people act the way they do today. All these people are and were great entertainers.

I mean, to be very honest, where are the R & B/Soul singers today? In fact, what happened to R & B/Soul music in the mainstream? Unfortunately, the answer is; it doesn't exist. Mainstream music and media has gone to pop corn rubbish and hip hop music is a disgrace. I don't hear nor see too many artists today that I would even choose.

WOW!!! I was in high school and we recorded this when it aired but it was lost when everyone moved and went their own way. I would love to have a full copy of this. It would be nice to air this one on tv today so our children can watch this and enjoy it along with the true meaning of Christmas.
Natalie Cole, Stephanie Mills, and Desiree Coleman are my strongest standout memories from seeing this in the fourth grade. But everyone was SANGIN’! My favorite christmas special ever!

FINALLY - I have been looking for this particular special for so long, this is one of the best Christmas Specials that I had the privlidge to watch when I was a little boy - that was so long ago I am no 41. The lady who sings - McDowell (is that right?), I was suprised that she also had an awsome voice that almost matched the MOTOWN Stars. I do remember that MIZZZ ROSS was on NOT on this show. BUTT anyhoo thank you so very much

I remember watching this when I was much younger. I actually have a tape that says Chrismtas 1987 and this whole special is on there. I may have to dust off the old VCR and watch whole show. I really wish they would put it out on DVD>

Sure, maybe in musical theater. But in pop music and what's left of R&B, maybe a few real singers are still out there. Please correct me if I'm wrong!

The entire medley was fantastic, but stephanie mills and natalie cole killed it when they sang joy to the world.

I remembered this Christmas special taped it on my VCR back in 1985or 6. It was taped over only had bits of it. I wish I can find it in full view.
Remember this coming on as a kid back in the day. Still one of the best Christmas specials. I was 5 when this came out!!
