In my experience, the Pap smear itself isn’t bad, it’s the speculum that hurts. But you can advocate for yourself by asking for the smallest speculum which helps a bit but will still feel like you’re being pinched
It's not that bad I promise, it's a little uncomfortable and sometimes cold, but it's also super duper important to screen for cervical cancer which you can get whether you're active or not. Basically they insert a speculum to open the vaginal canal (if it's metal it can be cold but some are plastic, you'll feel some pressure/stretching or even some pinching though nothing is being pinched. Do your best to relax and it's easier.) then they use a swab to reach your cervix to get a sample to test. It's over super fast so that's the most important thing, only takes like a minute or two tops. Be open to your provider with your concerns and if you're uncomfortable with a male doctor you can always ask for a woman to preform the test. It's an annoying right of passage as a woman but it's easy to psych yourself out over it, ultimately it's super quick, and you'll make it through. You got this Enna!
Literally not true at all, chronically online people and depressed people are just hating on physical activity which is compulsory for the human body to sustain itself. Egh, I think it depends on the person and how they take care of their body. Currently in my late 20s and barely feel any pain. I am more tired, though. I think that's just because my sleep schedule is messed up because of work
My mid 20s was great, no issues at all then when I turned 29 my stomach started to act up but now 1 year later I've pretty much stabilized it again. Guess being 30 is a renewal of ones spirit or something.
I'm glad im not the only one who feels this way. Now, all im gonna do is wait for her pap smear to happen and ask how was it before doing my own pap smear lol
Yeah doctors here say unless you're active/sleep around, notice some serious issues or 40+ you don't have to do it. Which is fair tbh because we have a huge problem with a lack of OBGYNs that even women with diagnosed cancer can't get an appointment. So I'd much rather let my appointment go to someone that actually needs it.

there is a way to check without the metal being inserted. its called a blind papspeer and the results are just as good as the normal ones. it also dosen't hurt at all
Men are more prone to prostate cancer than women are to cervical cancer. It's just not normalised enough. Men don't like anything nowhere near their butt, so most of the time, if they get prostate cancer, it's already well established. Kinda sad. Do your yearly prostate checks guys.
Women also do colonoscopies and colon cancer screenings but men have to do prostate cancer however women have to use a large metal clamp 🗜️ inserted to open them up then swab so I get what you mean

That said, WTF with the rest of the stuff? Mid 20s? what is she doing, Wrestling? Obsessive body building? Extreme Sports?! Barely anyone can poop in a fixed schedule and last 10 minutes in the bathroom. Even this rant is mentally healthy, despite sounding weird and deranged) Also, no way you think you'll get Glaucoma at your 20's! It's not impossible, but the risk mainly increases when you hit your 40s, it's considered an old age illness! I know 'cuz, being son of a glaucoma diseased, I was told to check my eyes every year when I get closer to 40. Honestly, all this sh** she's talking 'bout didn't happen to me till my late 30's! What is this woman going on about?!
Yes, you can get Glaucoma at younger age nowadays. I’m not sure why but the number is increasing. Probably because of phones and computers. Also, the more the test you take, they charge you more 😂😂😂
It really depend on the person. I have been having pain and health problems since a very young age and was ignored by the doctor as stress because I was young. Then my body started to decline so bad when I was 23 and has to go through many check ups (including went to the ER twice in a year). They managed to finds a lot of issues but many issues are still undiagnosed(partly the money and the long wait time for specialists). One of my classmate also had a heart transplant in the past despite she is only in her early 20s (mostly because she was misdiagnosed and treated that make her conditon worse)..

It's different for every person since not everyone even has a hymen, someone's broke without them knowing etc. and the smear shouldn't be painful I heard unless your muscles are really tense and/or the canal is too narrow (in that case they should use the thinnest one).
