Both parents have passed. I’m fairly sure my dad would’ve maybe liked prospecting. N maybe my mom may have liked watching it. 🤷♂️ they were both gone b4 I discovered there’s gold in New York.
A trick my grandfather taught me when he learned me how to sluice is to always take the last five shovels of dirt exactly downstream from the sluice box in order to minimize the losses (if you know you have losses)...
Your classifier inside the bucket would have been ideal for the tailings backlog, large overburden back at location, and consistent size at the sluice. I like the concept 😊. Nice work 👍. Cheers 🍻
So Mr. Chris, after watching this and wondering why I had not done the same sooner, given the fluid bed and other sluices I have made, I was on my way to the workshop this morning when I just decided to drive to Newcastle and buy one off the shelf (product placement and demonstration works a treat!). Bought myself a nice new crevice pick/tool as well. I think I will go to Nundle now and try out my New Toys!
Nice rake Chris. Well on your way to the desired target. You can do it! The forward classifier looks the goods. I am wondering with my skills , I shall attemp to make a plate to attach to my river sluice! More bloody projects in my limited brain space! Cheers Andy
I’ve got an important question: knowing gold is 19x heavier than water of course But will a really small flake/Spec of gold still sit at the bottom of the pan or will it move water compared to a bigger piece? Just wondering and I really want to know about the sizes of gold
another thought is.... smaller buckets are easier to handle, and can be filled full. and you could carry more of them. so, 2 gallon buckets, grab 4 to 8 of those. equivalent to 8 or 16 gallons worth respectively. so, rather than half a 5 gallon bucket, and hard to handle (as we age) use smaller buckets, we can fill more efficiently, even unclassified (or at least minimally classified outright) then, pack in whatever number yer comfortable with moving into the field with, and go from there lol. its something i myself have considered. take one of those concrete mixer tubs, make a back pack frame out of wood or modify an existing frame to use the tub as like a classifier collection bin at the creak. then it can hold your sluice, scoops, and other stuff. and the smaller buckets too, in a nice cozy stack. anyways, i love thinking of ways to make things more efficient lol "work smarter, not harder" hehe
I like that sluice of urs think I could build 1 with a grill out of the oven slotted over the flaire and a baking tray will classify down to 10 mm👍⚒️🏴
5th row gold. Anything on top of the Dream mat cells in the water interrupts the vortices. At least there is enough flow after the classifier for the cells to work.
Great job Chris! I run a punch plate like that in mine from time to time as well and as long as the water is good, it always helps speed through material.
Great vidoe thanks for posting..those top cells always looked like they ate packed but don't worry they are working catching gold...keep up the great work👍👍👍🍻
What's up brother! Great video, as always. I have a question. When you first started the 100 bucket challange you were classifying all of the buckets. I noticed that you are not doing that on this video. Wouldn't that change the amout of dirt you are procecing? According to another video of yours, 1 classified bucket is equal to about 3 unclassified buckets, right? I think your count of 100 acutal buckets might be off... Stay safe out there brother.
now, i can imagine having a Super large aluminum flair. large enough that you can get a classifier screen on top of it without loosing flow, and screen your material on the flair. of course, one could classify in a bucket, or use your sluice based screen. but it woudl be interesting, if your screen was Under the water, rather than above it. let the water move the big rocks and only sweep it when needed. i wonder, how deep can you run a sluice before it becomes a problem. and, can you run a sluice in ultra shallow water, if you have super high flow? alas, im stuck with Only hand panning in Vermont, until they change the regulation to allow stream sluices, but, if i ever do more sluicing in the wild, and not in my shop, what would you say is the best configuration for a sluice?
Which sluce does better is the question I would like answered? Does his homemade one work just as well to catching flour gold or maybe not? What's your take on it?,
Just purchased one of these based of an earlier clip you made.. So hoping it arrives before my next trek out.. Do you ever repan the ground where your Sluice box empties out?
Chris, if you fill a 20-liter bucket half-way with screened dirt, and the rest with water, then swirl it with a paddle, will the gold migrate to the bottom, thus concentrating it in the bottom?
I usually shake the bucket before feeding it and wash the last little bit into a pan to check real quick. Then I feed the pan into the sluice if there isn't anything worth snuffing.
17:43 my guess 1.735g.... I've got a Microdiscectomy on Wednesday, then 6-8 weeks of healing and rehab then I should be able to get up into the Idaho mountains for some prospecting! WooHoo it's been too long.
Oh, sorry but I forgot, the wind blew someone's rain gutter off, I found it & cut a 3 foot section & carpeted it, in the monsoon rains in the desert 🏜 I sluice the washes...Pixie Pans!!
Oh Chris, you know already the CIA murdered the Kennedys...They Ain't allowed to murder me too, the Mafia regrets it for helping those Spooks & no matter how hard they try they can't get enuf volunteers so they'd be caught red handed...it's My decision when I leave,,,keep on persevering & as you know too, putting you or me down just hurts them more than it does us. Layer goofy bro, the Blind Sniper, out.
I betcha just as fast as that video camera turns off that you and Gadsy bust out your toy bulldozers and make motor sounds with your mouths while y'all push those rocks off your sluice box bwahahahahahahaha 😅❤
Poor Gadzee, not that long to live, using up what little time he has left running a slow sluice. Surely the UN would give him status as some sort of a refugee?
@@VoGusProspecting I know you ain't joking about your life having had some stress. Balancing that though, you have had some loving Doggos, I am confident that owning a loving Doggo is good for a man.
Make sure you show ya mum this video
I actually will my mum enjoys watching your videos aswell ahaha 😂
Again Happy Birthday have a wonderful weekend I'll be 48 on Wednesday
I showed your mum. Now she won't stop callin
6:34 my father said the same thing to me last week lol

Everyone needs a friend like Chris and Gadzee. That friend you can call and say lets do something crazy and they are like what took so long to call.
❤😂❤😂😂❤😂😂
49 buckets from unnamed to go, 49 buckets to go. Straight from the ground, he sluiced it around, 49 buckets from unnamed to goooooo.
You're a poet sir

Such a great time Chris! Thanks for this it was awesome. You are the best.👍😎🎩⚒️G.P.

Thanks for all you do. Love the content. May you continue to find happiness in all you do.

5:18 I love that you left the spooder with a snack on the side of the rock.
You have performed the methods of a rotating trommel, but in a linear style.
Just ordered this exact model. Very excited to get it going with my home built trommel. Thank you for the review!

That, Chris, was a very nice deconstructed gold anklet or bracelet smile in the pan at the end, we smiled!

Nice take Chris. The sluice box ran really well. You’ve broken the back of the bucket count, hope yours holds out 🤣😁👍👍
I see it as classifying. You are doing a lot of hands on just as you are collecting the gold also.
Your classifying the sluice is stratifiding👌
Ill accept this outcome
After watching., Dan Hurd and Flour Gold Wizard. You should always classify… it helps if you have clay and with the tailings 💶❤️❤️
Thanks for the tips!
Yay! Great episode.
Gadzee: " My channel is Spot Engineering " ...LOL
2 Bram thank you for sharing the adventure and information
Any time!
Awesome result. Downhill now to the 100th bucket
Thanks Chris!
Great upload that is a fantastic idea saves a lot of work.
if you add a reveal mat in front of your sluice , where you dump on , you can see what your gettn.

Man I wished I could use a river sluice in my province. It looks fun peaceful and very effective ⛏️⛏️
Seems like a deprivation of your rights my friend.
@@defn0s ya the stupid rules of British Columbia.

Yea, Canada went downhill real quick. Remember when you guys used to be able own firearms and weren't required to use proper pronouns?

I have seen some of your good filming on gadzees vids. 👌

Flow rate surging must not be issue with these new matts. Im making my own only because everyone says ya cant make em yourself.
Just purchased one of these based of an earlier clip you made..
So hoping it arrives before my next trek out..
Do you ever repan the ground where your Sluice box empties out?
We are shipping them out this week. We always test our tailings
Are you sponsored by Bunnings, if not you should be with that beautiful bucket 😊
I dont know who Bunnings is
Sure beats working in a office all day. Or anywhere else for that matter
Men live till 70 say you! Well I guess I will be dead on Sept. 28 this year :(
Chris, if you fill a 20-liter bucket half-way with screened dirt, and the rest with water, then swirl it with a paddle, will the gold migrate to the bottom, thus concentrating it in the bottom?
It would, but you probably couldn't turn the paddle by hand.
I usually shake the bucket before feeding it and wash the last little bit into a pan to check real quick. Then I feed the pan into the sluice if there isn't anything worth snuffing.
Gadzee is such a funny individual ❤
He is also very contagious
Love your clips ❤ this is great content
Appreciate it
Forgive the naive question, instead of dismantling the sluice, could you not just turn it upside down and rinse it into a bucket?
You're dope Chris 🤘
Dang that sluice is fast!

Is all that parmesan cheese or gold? 😁
Well done
That is a great sluice, two rat thumbs up!

Oh I would love to be by a river panning away. Keep days work. Maybe 1 gram. Hard to add up that small gold in me head 😂
I cant count past 20 even when my socks are off
i usualy do 4//3 shovel buckets a min to cons no sluicing to slow and your losing gold or 100/120 3 shovel buckets an hour
Goodsy‼️
I would have lost count on buckets for the day and be propper confused by lunch
Thats what post it notes are for haha
