If anyone is wondering if you can use this car as a daily driver, yes, you can. It is not as comfortable as a 7 series, but this is not that type of car. You can drive it around town without any problems, the suspension is stiff but not in an annoying way, in 2 weeks you are completely accommodated with it, you will even feel the need to put the suspension in the sport settings, because you feel it to "light" on higher speeds. M8 GC competition or M8 Coupe competition it is just a matter of taste. I prefer M8 GC competition. The car is a monster when referring to its power, it keeps pulling no matter what. It is an excellent car. You also need a little bit of time to get used with the brakes, being a innovation in this field. If you want to buy this type of car, don't hesitate, you won't have any regrets. P.S. you need to keep in mind that this engine needs to be revved up from time to time, in order to keep its perfect working parameters.
I like the colour, and the car of course, but I prefer the coupe! Indeed Thomas, your clothes matches the colour car :)

Very nice and interesting review! I totally agree that there should not be big compromise for comfort because of sportiness. I think most of the m-performance cars with adaptive suspension offer best of both worlds.

I have it and is a bit stiff but normal suspension setting is actually comfy and wonderful, not bumpy..
it is a sport car should be stiffer :)
But the difference between m sport mode and normal mode is actually huge and beautiful normal mode is so comfy and on the amazing German highways not even the stiff mode feels stiff lol

i see a few 8 series here and there on the roads, i think they lack presence and only car people know what it is. it basically blends in traffic as the nice looking bmw and not stand out in the crowd.
My family owns a 2020 X5 and although the wireless charging should work well with the wireless Apple car play, it actually overheats the phone because BMW didn’t put any sort of ventilation under or on the side of the charger. It’s a pretty irritating design flaw that was overlooked. One thing I will say is maybe the fan for the cooled cupholders is powerful enough to reach the charger. I will definitely have to test that.

Hey Alex, great channel, is the M8GC slower in any way than the coupe? Is the M8GC faster than an M5 Comp? And finally, does the new 911 Turbo S feel a lot faster than the M8? Would really appreciate if you can answer them questions for me :) Thanks

The 911 is clearly a sportscar layout whereas the M8 is rather GT
In this category Maserati Quattroporte is the best choice in my opinion. Especially if you want sound.
Literally the worst choice 😂. Much much and i mean MUCH worse than any of the competitors and outdated.

"This car is in Sports Mode all the time!" Great Active driving part, and autobahn view. Thomas, I hear the autobahn is in danger of losing its legendary derestricted status. Apparently the ADAC (Germany's biggest auto club) 'softened its stance' on autobahn speed limits, partially due to climate fears. The Green Party put forward a motion in the German parliament calling for autobahn speed limits. It was defeated but now the ADAC has come out saying it is 'no longer fundamentally against' the idea of speed limits and has called for a review. Irrespective of what happens after the present situation, do you think the unlimited autobahn is finished? If so, will BMW (et al) continue to build road cars that do 200 km/h, or 305 km/h! Many thanks.

The interieur is a dealbreaker for me - so much worse than other BMW's, especially not nearly as good as the Interieurs from the A7 or S Coupe

As long as the E-LSD is available, RWD is fine on a dry road. Young people under 50 just do not have the experience of driving high HP motor with RWD with an open differential and no ABS like the old days.

What is the reason for the quarter window in the rear? Somebody PLEASE explain this to me? The car would have a so much more elegant line if the rear door window was just a rear door window!!

IRL this machine has an outstanding presence on the road. For me it screams too much "I'm rich!"
It's the perfect car for all those without the money to buy it, lease it instead to 'look rich' and now cry for government help because they cannot continue their pretend-livestyle.

Since when are we arguing soley based on what we are doing for a long time? So people used to burn witches, so we should do that today? Life is not renewable. Never. It is life or death. How could you suggest that you can harvest life? Would you use dogs and cats for car seats? If not, why use cows? The only ones who need respect here are the victims of the leather industry, poor humans who have no choice but to work in toxic environments and animals who are tortured and slaughtered. What is more offensive? That I call for a more compassionate world? Or keeping animals in captivity and then chopping them up to put them on car seats and furniture? My job is to review cars yes, I do everything according to my moral values - and that includes calling out when there is useless harm whereas you can have high-tech recyclable materials nowadays. If you blame me for being compassionate, feel free to watch car videos somewhere else where they don't care about the background of the industry if that makes you happier. I stick to what is right, it is not my duty to be liked by everyone, but to be a good and honest reporter. By the way, the whole industry knows what I am doing, and that's exactly why we are so highly respected among manufacturers and viewers. And our channel is a key factor in the current change for sustainable interior materials since I am frequently talking to the responsible mangers/buyers/CEOs in that field. I am calling out the animal skin problem for 7 years now - and our popularity has only grown _because_ we are not afraid to raise our voice. We speak out the truth and we don't just repeat PR texts. Explain to me what of the two following processes is "extreme": Using recycled plastic bottles to use them for new seats or burning down the rain forest for animal crops, then feeding them to caged animals, torturing and slaughtering them and then putting their skin on seats?

Keep your values for yourself and just deliver great videos you're making. That's just my opinion. I am Polish therefore i could possibly make a lot of comments about German manufacturing but I choose not to because they are my views and I do not want to push them on to someone else. I do not want to argue, you're making great videos, however I do not think that mentioning animal skin in every car review is the right thing to do as car reviewer.

With animal skin, the thing is that this is not about my opinion, it is based on facts. You can have animal-free and environmentally friendly seats or you can support harm to humans, animals and the environment. This is not about opinion, this is about fact. I prefer cars like the Subaru WRX STI which are more RAW and you actually feel the speed and can have fun with them even when driving it in the city obeying the speed limits. Cars like this BMW hide the speed too much which makes them boring and dangerous unless you live in Germany and use the autobahn. Just expressing my thoughts from Canada, Ontario where the fastest legal speed limit is 100km/h....^__^

I don't know why, but this thing does nothing for me. The styling, the details, the engine tone, interior... it all feels very uninspiring. Which sums up my current feeling about BMW overall.
Rudolf van der Ven I have the exact same feeling about the lates BMWs. Before they really were the pinnacle of driving machines. Now it doesn’t feel as special unfortunately.
They're all incredibly boring to me, zero character in the design. This M8 just looks like a colossal waste of money.

No rear wheel steering because of the M-philosophy. That's the most stupid thing I've ever heard. It's already 4WD. If it were for the M-philosophy they should've made it only rear wheel drive like the M2, M3 and M4. I would've liked it a lot with the real wheel steering as it helps with the agility of the car. But I guess agility isn't an M-philosophy for BMW? Stupid.
