yup I was so hyped I bought used ps3 in my local pawn shop, I have collected some money from christmas, easter and stuff and then I begged my mom like a whole month for it and they finally gave me the remaining part of funds I needed to buy the console and used mgs3 from 2nd hand game store... what a time to be alive it was :D
I remember this so vividly. The first MGS4 trailer they published that showed anything about the game. I remember how bleak and desperate it looked with Snake appearing like he was on his last legs. And the speculation about the plot.
At the time, FPS games were extremely popular, and everyone was playing them. Kojima knew it was possible to create one, but as a game designer, he calmly judged that stealth action would be better. Today, most major games follow the game design of Metal Gear Solid.

I still hope Konami will launch a remake, especially now that they’ve announced the remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater :). Since it seems Konami has decided to start with the first episode chronologically, it might take several years before we see remakes of the other main MGS games.

@Bifito the lighting is completely different from trailer and final game so you can't say that and the texture is debatable.

I like the detail that Metal Gear Mk.2 runs on a CELL processor. And in-game Snake controls it with a PS3 controller.

solid snake way better at stealth than big boss. he ran across the open & then hid, then he popped out of no where
