- One cold, stormy night in New York City, a mysterious object falls from the sky and smashes through the window of a rundown apartment building. It is an egg, and from this egg emerges a strange little spider…
The creature is discovered by Charlotte, a rebellious 12-year-old girl obsessed with comic books. Despite her stepfather Ethan’s best efforts to connect with her through their comic book co-creation Fang Girl, Charlotte feels isolated. Her mother and Ethan are distracted by their new baby and are struggling to cope, leaving Charlotte to bond with the spider. Keeping it as a secret pet, she names it Sting.
As Charlotte's fascination with Sting increases, so does its size. Growing at a monstrous rate, Sting's appetite for blood becomes insatiable. Neighbours’ pets start to go missing, and then the neighbours themselves. Soon Charlotte’s family and the eccentric characters of the building realise that they are all trapped, hunted by a ravenous supersized arachnid with a taste for human flesh... and Charlotte is the only one who knows how to stop it.
Sting is inspired by one of humanity's greatest fears, arachnophobia, made more monstrous than ever before.

Man, if I had a spider like that, I’d take good care of it. I’d get it a litter box and some fuzzy play toys. I would need to get it a shock collar though. If it went too far from the house I’d give it a quick “warning bzzzt. If it kept going then zzZZAAAP!

I actually got to see it early and the spiders name is a reference to something I dearly love and holds a very special place in my heart.
Sting was cooler when it was KILLING giant spiders, rather than being one of them. 😭

I don't know @sean9115 -- I saw the very 1st trailer for the film Itsy Bitsy, and suffered through 3 separate, pauses in getting to the Final production and prep work for it's Final release,... AND I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED WHEN I FINALLY GOT TO SEE IT!!! It actually had a full North American Indian Culture Background story of how the Nation's Indian Cultures created artworks and pottery and native tools, giving reference and Thankful worship to the Great Mother Spider, who was said to have created the Universe before the first Humans were born on this Earth. THAT was worth the Ticket price in my book, knowing most of my family on my Mother's side were/are Cherokee, And on my Father's family side, mostly are descendants of Northern Indian Culture called Paiute (said like ( Pie-Yute ). Most of cast in Itsy Bitsy were people I had never heard of EXCEPT Bruce Davison. Oh, and there's a movie here on You Tube I just found, but haven't watched yet, called Spider in the Attic. THAT film looks extra creepy as well.... ;)

I thought this was gonna be a genuine horror movie like The Shining but this trailer makes it look like a horror-comedy.

This is going to be effectively scary because it banks on a very common phobia. Just watching that scene of the spider crawling into the woman's mouth and her throat bulging gave me the ick.

I saw this tonight at a mystery movie Monday screening at Regal Cinema. It lives up to the hype that the trailer give it. Love me a good animal run amok movie. Practical effects is also a nice touch. It's not silly like an Eight Legged Freaks kind of thing, but the plot survives on a steady diet of the cast making extremely poor thought out decisions, but I would not have it any other way.
I have afraid of spiders!!! But I wanna to watch this movie at the theaters or on TV.
I heard the larger spider only appears for a tiny bit sadly in the movie, but that otherwise it was quite good.
Read about this movie in an article earlier. It sounded very neat. Spiders are so gross. I used to be afraid of those demons but the more I did research the more I realized they really are our friends. I almost trust spiders more than chihuahuas

I'm curious about Sting but Vermines will probably remain superior. That movie is a chaotic lot of fun and dread. Part of me prefer good old little spiders because they feel realistic.

The name of the spider is sting named after bilbo baggins sword Sting that ironically killed many spiders in the Hobbit. The girl had books of the hobbit in their apartment.
