Marching 100 heads back to Paris

- The FAMU Marching 100 answered the call of designer Louis Vuitton and will perform in their fashion show in Paris, France at the Louvre. It will be the second time the Marching “100” has performed in Paris as they first went in 1989 to help the country celebrate its Bastille Day. FAMU band director Dr. Shelby Chipman was there in 1989 as a member of the band and now guides the 35 members back to Paris.
Congratulations, FAMU Marching 100, from a Southern University Alumnus!
Again the Marching "100" is recognized and rewarded for superior marching band pageantry and signature sound.

Absolutely Amazing man and definitely a full circle moment! I know y’all going to show out as y’all should! FAMU band is one of the best bands I’ve ever heard and this year I’m planning on seeing it live. Nothing can describe the feeling of hearing those instruments in person.

We definitely need to start promoting HBCUs much more heavily. Is he saying FAMU was invited because Paris was familiar with them from the last time? That's why it's key to get everyone's brand out here. Too many of these companies and organizations don't know about all the schools. They're only familiar with a handful of us

That's not true they looked at a lot of the other HBCU college bands. The proforming Arts abroad. Has a music festival every summer.They invite other bands to perform.High Schools and college bands. Don't get mad .You have to be invited it's a long process. The 100 is not just known in the state of Florida. They will get a call from another country. Remember the 100 is never desperate they get invites all over the world.So many they have to turn some of them down. The 100 is Often Imitated never Duplicated.

Right now as we speak Florida A&M and Jackson State carrying HBCUs in brand, marketing wise and social media wise. I need everyone else to lock in.
What I’m saying is JSU and Famu is the two biggest brands in the Swac. We need more schools in the Swac to grow there brands not just these two. That’s what I’m saying 😂🤦🏿♂️ ion know what tf y’all talking about

Oh by the way the organization in Praise France paid 1 point 3 million for the. 100 to come and play the Louie V did a one year researching for the best college band pulling films and concert formations. The 100as chosen.And not. taking anything from the other bands just facts.

Yall really have to STOP with these lame jokes. The students in the band now was in elementary school when that incident happened and the band has been back 8yrs now with no incident. Either say congratulations or move along. Its extremely lame to keep throwing Robert's situation up towards a group of students that had no part in doing that. Nawl they got it right. After doing their extensive research watching films, and clips of many different bands. All that loud noise they call “Cranking” ain’t it.
How you figure that Mr.Green! Might wanna do some research on the H.G.B. And The Boom! FACTs back in ‘98 H.G.B. Was the first HB.C.U. Band invited and perform at the Rose Bowl After 40 yrs! ! F.A.C.T.S. In 89, The Boom was the only H.B.C.U. Band Invited to Motown and perform on T.V. Crank on that!! How you going to Invite F.A.M. Who”, after the Hazing incident that involved killing a D.M. You can’t hear me now! Put on probation for yr! You forgot about that !! I”ll wait????
