What I look forward to every Friday
Finally... it is now clear for me! This forward diving, I completely recognize it! My sun (playing a youth-elite-team) was thaught to do so. Excellent for training and some matchsituations, but when he was 12, he was starting to say after matches, on training, that he felt it was sometimes better tot dive backward (only 12 he felt: getting more time). So he told his trainers: I encouraged him to ask them, because I know a little bit of GK (begin one when I was young) and agreed what he was saying. I saw the discussions on the trainingpitch. They didn't agree, but luckily they were not hardcore on this, so they admitted sometimes it is better. Perfect for me! I am very happy viewing your remarks on this!
The same for the legs following the body, he has a very agressieve dive, he overstretches, I doesn't look great, but he gets far with it. But consequence: his feet often end next to his head because of the pace of his body. But for training exercises this is not good for getting up with the "normal technique" to get a second ball in the other corner. I saw/see him strugling getting on his feet, keeping the face towards the pitch. It makes him slower. When he uses the momentum of his body(!, I like it that you use that, I teach physics :-)) to get the turn with de back to the pitch, he is much faster. Unfortunally, this kind of technique is not open for discussion. A pity! His fellow-keeper on the other hand is built perfect for the "normal" technique. From a certain level young keepers should be thaught that there are different types and that they have to adopt en train their best-fitted!
You opened my eyes! Great!
FYI: He uses the no-grip gloves for one year now for some excercises (in the garden), I saw him developping his catching-technique! He really feels it: the need to catch different!
The quality of these videos is unmatched on the topic of goalkeeping. Really valuable stuff🏆
This is amazing, I'm 23 years old, 10 years ago I broke my knee cap, I had to teach myself alot about recovery and rehabilitation, I started seeing a physio, I stopped playing and switched to Athletics, to centre myself and get back to running efficiently, (present day) since leaving the UK last year and moving to Tanzania, I've been getting the itch to play again alot of learning to do I'm stronger, faster, more agile, more balanced, alot more work in gym, and it's time to pick up your zero gloves and try one my time. Thank you so much guys
Love your (different) approach to the goalkeeping game. Especially looking positively at Neuers unorthodox way of goalkeeping, I dont think I've seen a gk coach trying to teach Neuers techniques and use them as good example. Brilliant!
Best UA-cam channel❤️
Agree with this so much. No such thing as perfect technique! Every keeper is different and at the end of the day, it's about making that save!
Cheers for another great video lads!
Absolutely, if it work for you, and you can save the ball using that style of technique. Use it! Just practice and practice
I am a firm believer in the dive that eventually makes you face your own goal. I did it one day and caught the ball and said, “that’s decent you know” and I’ve been doing a lot since and it really isn’t a choice it’s the way I dive. Now I feel like that’s the best to catch a mid-height ball while diving
Proper goalie coaching...at last. Love this lads, breath of fresh air. Thankyou.
Thank you for this video because ive always disagreed with my coaches on all the same points you made in this so now i can show them this video
I've never really thought about diving forward but just making the save. I didn't have this luxury coming from futsal. If it's struck hard then I doubt my positive dive will save it
He's too good for them. Get him in for Glasgow Celtic 😊👍👐
Incredible video this lads
Thank you mate! Glad you appreciate it! So much needs to be challenged still.
I learn a lot about you guys. Thanks for the tips and coaching. I'd love a session with you all 👐⚽👍
hi im 13 from scotland (rangers fan) and have watched your channel and it helps alot ive used alot of your techniques and used them in games
thank u
keep up the good work lads!
Thanks Paul!
Thanks for this interesting video. Catching is supposed to be an easy basic technique... In fact, it's absolutely not! Firstly because catching depends on many factors: game situation, shot, gk previous moves and gestures... In fact, catching is one of the last actions of stopping process... All previous are made in order to catch the ball and also they have an effect on it....in other words catching is the objective but also the result of what gk's done before.
Secondly, there's NEVER just one best technique for anything... Techniques vary, change with people... Each keeper selects one or some... or creates its own technique, with merits... and demerits. There are just great general principles, inspirated by physics, biomechanics... And 'lines of thought'... I would say there're many different good techniques for catching but not all of them are adapted to all gks. Long and regular practice allow gks to improve their technique, as well as a good and 'opened minded' coaching.
We were just talking about this the other day. Gk coaches call catching“the basics” of goalkeeping but we’d say it’s an advanced skill!
🔥🔥
Can you do diving technique for high dives in particular
Make a video about the diving technique
Is the v technique similar to the triangle hand technique)
Great as usual
Can I just use outfielder gloves as handling gloves
Who thinks kepa trained with the red fingered gloves
You lot should definitely collaborate with ideal gk
The ideal GK ???????
اتمنى ان اصبح حارس مرمى كبير🥺
