- Here's a video I did on Disney's Rise of the Resistance ride. Enjoy! NOTE: At one point, I say Disney spent 4 Trillion for Lucasfilm instead of Billion. I mispoke when recording and didn't catch it til now, so I shall live with this shame forever. That is all.

Disney made a huge error by theming the Star Wars park around the sequel trilogy and setting it in a new and unseen world. The one big experience/ride is very good, but it would be unforgettable if you were interacting with the evergreen original characters and fleeing Darth Vader. In their defense- the park was well into development prior to Last Jedi. People forget how big of a hit Force Awakens was and how much momentum Star Wars had going into Last Jedi.
Good vid. Well written. I appreciated the humor. I used to work at a major theme park. My opinion is that a good dark ride has a good storyline. The rider should care about why they're on this ride. A roller coaster can be pointless but is generally enhanced with a storyline element i.e. Tron, Hagrid's Motorbike Adventure or a cool element like music Rock'n Roller Coaster. Also, if a ride is going to be linked with a movie, it should have all of the best qualities of the film and perhaps continue the storyline - E.T's Adventure or Rise of the Resistance.
One small critique. Lucasfilm was purchased by Disney for $4.05 billion not trillion... unless you meant that humorously then my bad. Keep having fun with your videos.

Great video. Rise is my favorite ride of all time, something I go ride every time I go to a Disney park and a reason I have gone to the parks more often than I would have otherwise. I think because the story and the technical aspects bolster each other so well is the reason I can enjoy it eery time, after many times riding it... for people who watch the video realize there is even more cool stuff going on than the video talks about, and great narration through the ride.
People complain about Disney Star Wars but overlook the very excellent things we have gotten in addition to the things people did not like. My full list would be:
Galaxies Edge with full size Falcon (especially Rise, but I love the whole place).
Rogue One
Andor
Mandalorian s1-2 (I liked the others but they did become more of a mixed bag than the purity of the first two seasons).
Additional updated Star Tours content
Galactic Starcruiser (which was the best Star Wars live thing ever made and probably ever will be made, sorry for the rest of you who will never see it now).
A lot of great animated content like the last seasons of Clone Wars, Star Wars Visions, Bad Batch etc.
SO many great books, "Living Force' being just one example and I personally am a fan of the High Republic series.
To me on balance, Disney buying Star Wars has brought us MANY more new amazing Star Wars things than we would have had otherwise so it was very worth it. You can simply ignore the trilogy or other things you do not like as you wish.
To bring this all back to the original point of this video, the world without Galaxies Edge and especially Rise would be much poorer.
Thank you! I was deliberately vague with my description of the ride and tried to use concept art wherever possible because I think everyone should experience this ride for the first time by riding it!

You use an absolutely spectacular ride. The movies are horrible. The hot dog taco.It's possibly big, the best food in the parks.
