Thank you! ❤
This is amazing.
It had a very DVD commentary vibe with trivia, did you know, reason why you made the choices you did, what the choices do and personal experience etc which brings a very different take (at least in my experience) on the whole playthrough/lets play videos.
Honestly, for a first video, it's really good a lot better than most first time.
It would be interesting to see how the burned man and Ulysses interact with a courier who fights for the legion. Look forward to the next video.
Thank you! Just got the new one put out! So interestingly enough, Ulysses does indeed have some interesting dialog for a female courier in the Legion! We'll get there eventually.
As far as the former Malpais Legate I can't actually recall if he does have any unique dialog for us. Guess we'll have to make a trip to Zion to find out!
@@CourierJackalope The Malpais Legate underestimated the enemy, the unconventional tactics of Hanlon took the Legion by surprise, though Lanius's strategic brilliance will cost General Oliver his life. The West is not ready for the Monster of the East.
i did the legion path first time. Just so you know I'm not a legion Fanboy. GOD BLESS THE ENCLAVE! GOD BLESS AMERICA!.
I always play the Legion, their faction is a master piece, very rich in lore. Lot of love from the original Fallout 3 title, Van Buren.
It really is awful how many people will skip them for being the "Bad Guys", especially since you're right, their lore is rich, especially with Roman History and philosophical theories! . It is a shame that a lot of their content ended up being cut!
@@CourierJackalope I would argue that they're not necessarily the antagonists, in fact they're arguably less insufferable than other fallout factions, most notably the Enclave, that have attempted to wipe out the people of the wasteland with bio-weapons on two separate occasions. The Brotherhood of Steel, who are for all intents and purposes a terrorist organization, and perhaps the worst of them all, the New California Republic, who are filled to the brim with war criminals. You should research the Bitter Springs Massacre, but they also allow corruption to run rampant, they disrespect and abuse Mojave locals, steal their land, their resources, their water with no repercussions. They murder tribes from California to Nevada and elsewhere. They tax their citizens to death and force conscription on their people, they loose about a thousand troops every year in the Mojave Campaign alone, which is probably an underestimation of the true number of casualties. Caesar's Legion promotes stability, the rule of law, their lands are defended, crime less, no raider activity whatsoever, meanwhile New California is still plagued by bandits and other riff raff. New Reno is still a drug infested hell hole, the Republic does nothing about, so long as they pay tribute to Shady Sands. The Legion doesn't even tax its subjects, and don't force conscription on its population. And yeah, unfortunately however the Legion does not represent Rome at its height, rather its collapse. I think with some minor reforms however the Legion could become a force to be reckoned with. Also yes we see slaves in Arizona, but we don't really know the context behind the slaves stories, they could have been branded offenders for any number of crimes. Smuggling, thievery, murder, etc. So any time you do see a Legion slave, I advise not immediately assuming the slave is innocent. Not everyone in Legion terribly is a slave, just look at
Dale Barton, who is an independent freelance merchant from the Four States Commonwealth.
@@CourierJackalope Indeed, unfortunate how many narrow minded degenerates exist out there, those that dislike the legion most likely wouldn't feel likewise if they simply payed attention, instead of being a bunch of uncultured swine. They're not the generic bad guys, and even if they were then by definition every other faction in the original game would be no exception to this rule. After all, the Enclave are genocidal nazis that attempted to wipe everyone in the wasteland out with biological weapons on two separate occasions, the Brotherhood of Steel are a terrorist organization, only interested in weapons technology, as Mr. House correctly points out, you don't see them raiding the ruins of hospitals. Of course, there's the New California Republic that needs no introduction, they speak of democracy when they have none whatsoever, they speak of the rule of law, when again they have none. Their democratic ideology is what led to the Great War, their government is corrupt, criminals elements don't just exist as raiders and bandits but as politicians as well, senators that run pyramid schemes with the Brahmin Barons, the corruption also extends to bribery to buy elections, racketeering operations are common place, as is extortion with the peasantry, they tax their citizens to death, so they can't fend for themselves, they give money to a government that doesn't even care enough to do their jobs, they don't fund anything but their failing army, all the NCR cares about is training troops that end up dying in a year regardless, if you look at the Mojave Campaign, or the NCR-BOS war, they compromise about an equal amount of soldiers that died during the War of 1914, ironic too considering the Republic employs outdated tactics, they're a lot like the Red Army when I think about it, even as far as 2277, during Operation Sunburst. I see the NCR military strategy of throwing thousands of untrained conscripts into the enemy until they give up hasn't changed, quite depressing when you think about it. They don't build bridges, they don't pave roads, they don't have any education, no art, no culture, any science they do have is used to further their corrupt government's agenda, and the research they do is dangerous, sending the Courier with a military marked package to Hopeville, causing the divide, then their desire to research the flora at Vault 22, do I even need to begin to explain what a terrible idea that is?! I know it's not cannon, but if you ever play Fallout: Dust, you really get to see the kind of monsters the New California Republic is, if you didn't think they could get any worse, my god are they insane in that mod, from the sadistic research of the Cloud in Dead Money to the mass murdering of civilians. I stress again they are war criminals, don't believe me? Go look into a little story called the Bitter Springs Massacre, which actually is cannon. NCR really is a shadow of the US Government, they spend all their money in foreign territory then they do their own homeland, meanwhile in Legion Territory, roads are built, patrolled, criminal elements have been put to the sword, or crucified. No raider activity at all, no deadly creatures, safe environments, territory is defended, people are thriving as subjects under Caesar, prime examples are merchants, like Dale Barton who you meet at Fortification Hill in FNV. Yes, there's slavery but you have to really understand the context behind it, don't automatically assume just because you see a slave that they're innocent, ones who are being punished could have violated the law; murderers, thieves, smugglers, addicts, spies etc. Slaves that aren't bound by punishment are probably voluntary. There's some people that do really in-depth and honest reviews on Legion Territory, highly recommend them. Edward Sallow himself is am intellectual philosopher with a deep understanding of knowledge and history, I like to think I have a bit of myself in him. ^^ Van Buren Legion would have been far superior to what we got, I wish you could have seen them, you kinda remind me of this bounty hunter girl that worked for them in that canceled installation.
