Thanks for this and all your other great vids! With VIRL, Cisco used to give the option to download the images separately from the software itself. Looks like they're trying to make it a little less obvious this is possible. It's great to see the love for eve-ng, it just smokes everything else!
Great stuff! Really dig that more people are getting into Eve-NG. Would love, love, love if you could show how to make custom Linux images for Eve-NG and how to install the beefier Cisco images like the nx-osv. I've tried a few times but can never get them to work. :'(
@@DataKnox - I had tried to get the Linux image setup in VMware and install everything I wanted to run, save then grab the vmdk and convert it before dropping it into Eve-NG but then it seemed to get stuck when trying to run it in Eve-NG. Been a while since I gave it a go so I can't recall what the exact issue was. lol... Will definitely have to try again.
Thanks for the detailed instructions but I am just wondering if we would still have the legal right to use CML Cisco equipment images if the CML subscription is not renewed ?
I don’t know the answer for sure on that one. I could guess, but it would just be an assumption. You may want to carefully read the license agreement on CML
In case anyone has an issue I named my asa volder asav- and put my proplerly named image in there. When I went to add the node eve couldn't see it. It wasn't until I changed the folder name to asav-XXX (the X's being the version of code my image) I was able to get eve to see the ASA code.
The Pro version is worth the money IMHO for the extra features and Uldis normally does a Black Friday discount, so you can get it for £50 in late November..
If you are interested on adding arista veos here, they offer it for free if you create an account at arista.com, you can download then the veos-lab version and go crazy with it
Hi dude, I am getting the following error, if you can help that would be much appreciated? file_get_contents(/opt/unetlab/platform) failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /opt/unetlab/html/includes/init.php on line 71
fix permissions throwed error "PHP Warning: file_get_contents(/opt/unetlab/platform): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /opt/unetlab/html/includes/init.php on line 71"
Would have never been able to figure this out without a good instructional.

Thank you so much! You made it quick and easy for me to get rolling. I'll be using this to study for the CCNP ENCOR and ENARSI exams.

You Linux image might just need to change the console method to RDP or VNC 😁. I think the default is telnet.

@@gustavomendez6279 Issues I usually have with Fortinet appliances are with memory, try to beef your images up with more RAM to see if that works.
Whats the difference in the download repository you showed versus the CIsco VIRL membership
Great video. How to show the GREEN success status like you did?
Another good vid... nice one.
I am having trouble adding my CML IOL image to eve-ng. Any suggestions? Thanks
You the best!
Hi, in the path /opt/unetlab/addons/qemu/, what will be the name of the folder containing the images that are not in the eve-ng support list?
@Dataknox, If I have a CCO account and access to cisco sw images. But, those images are Bin formats. Will those files work with EVE-NG?
Hi how do you draw/writing on the screen? Thanks!
I don't understand what is the reason to buy EVE-NG without images which cost the same as Cisco CML with images ?

Honest question: If I have a Cisco CML license, why would I use EVE-NG? why not just use the CML environment? Thanks in advance!
You'd only do this if you want to add different vender images, such as F5 BIGIP load balancers, Palo Alto firewalls, Arista, Extreme, etc......
Could we install Free EVE Community Edition in GCP ?
@DataKnox So does cml have all the images needed to run your free CCIE lab?
It does not. I use IOL images because they are so lightweight and also SDWAn
Can't find the router permissions file?
brilliant!
THANK YOU SIR!!!!!!!
