Yooo, Only Producer Community knows the importance of Simon Servida ❤️❤️ ❤️❤️
legit, hes the man!
Pablo guided Simon what melody he needs for this song... they are both genius...mad respect.
so cool!!
because when you are writing a song you usually you already have a melody in your mind
i know that because im also writing songs
Yes very nice collaborations
@@mousike6132 that is correct when you write songs, you also have the melody in it. Pablo is a writer of songs with catchy melodies, some of them they havent subjected yet to other's collab...maybe he is thinking to try doing it by his own someday. The SB19 is currently putting up their own dance and music studio through Justin's brother effort, Yani
This was lovely! A song honoring parents for sacrifices they made while raising kiddos, sending them successfully into the world! Coming full circle, the adult kiddos are reassuring the parents that they will now take care of them. The animation of a boat on a journey to represent life’s adventures in the world & then coming back home is so meaningful. I’d even venture that maybe there’s a double meaning of the title of navigating thru life with a map & also combining Ma & Pa? Very very well written.
Yesss the title is also a wordplay of "MAma" and "PApa"
just watched simon servida's breakdown of it, YOU hit it RIGHT on the head!! truth!
I'm not sure from which interview Pablo mentioned this but he said that MAPA was first written before the start of the pandemic last year. At that time, they all still lived together in one place and couldn't go home due to their sched. He asked each member what they want to say to their parents and that's how this song came to be. 🥺
@@calmsunflower3128 now I'm not sure if it's from an interview or MenPa hahaha
@@graceignacio306 I'm also thinking it's from an article 😅
I can hear this song already in every graduation ceremony all over Philippines 😅 for tributes to the parents
warning: long-ish comment lol
What amazes me about SB19 is how they have simple titles, but they do a bit of wordplay into their songs.
In WHAT❓, they played the word ‘What?’ in the chorus, “wha-wha-wha-watawat-“ (Watawat meaning “flag”). Very smart use of words!
For MAPA, it gets more interesting. Mapa means “map” in English. Considering that this song is about their parents, how they’re like a map in their lives and also how they’ll take the burden this time away from them. It’s a sweet song. The interesting part is how they used Ma,Pa as a shortcut for saying “Mama, Papa...” which again, smart use of words. It’s as if you can really feel the symbolism of the map for their parents.
Anyways, just wanted to share! ^^ You can check out the eng subtitles to understand the song better...thank you again for reacting this! 💙
Very nicely analyzed by you, as if you read my mind.
Because Pablo is a musical talent... In an interview, he said he wrote this song a year ago and a tribute for his mom and dad, his mom who is so kind that during his training would usually pack foods for him and that not hearing any complain nor doubts about what he had been doing..
Another symbol for MAPA is also with the words MAta (eyes) that represent the mom in the song and PAa (feet) that represent the dad and how these two guide them
You know what i really enjoyed about your reaction video? Since you didn't turned on the subtitle you are more focused on the technicalities of the song which is for me is very important. You said this is the type of song or genre that you would listen too, i agreed to that. I love how you find every details of the instruments used and the sound they've incorporated. Since you've already enjoyed the technical side of the song, i want you now to try to listen again the song with subtitle and be amazed once again not because of the sound but the meaningful message the lyrics wants to convey. Hope you'll enjoy it. Thanks sir for this wonderful reaction👍
I agree with you, maybe if he turn on the subtitled maybe he can't concentrate to his opinion about their dynamic of the songs,
Thank you so much po sir, open CC for English sub po sir.
Thank you po for supporting SB19 and sir Servida,
PADAYON po
God bless po
Oh I didn’t realize that! thats cool thanks!
Wow! Thank you so much sir, for reacting to our boys.. SB19 💙💙💙
my pleasure!
Piano by the legendary Jay Durias ❤️
Simon is also the best.
Love this reaction/analysis. More power to you, Sir!
amazing!!
@@JacobRestituto FYI, Jay Durias is legend here. His band in the late 90’s/early 2000s was South Border, which is considered near iconic. He wrote and also sang quite a few of their songs, the most popular one revived recently was Rainbow, covered by Michael Pangilinan on Wish Bus.
Jay worked with SB19 on What? as well. You can check the credits for that. I love that he’s confident enough in SB19’s talents and vision to collaborate and pass down his gifts in music.
Piano was by Jay Durias also one of the producers for the song. You should check him out too. He's one of the legends of the OPM industry. 👌👌
oh sick!!
oh, wow. i honestly thought u wont react to this. thank you, sir jacob. we appreciate you!
hope u enjoyed it!
MaPa = Mama and Papa (Parents) | Mapa = Map (English)
Our Map is our MaPa in this Life journey. | Both used and present on this song.
This is a masterpiece written by Pablo in collaboration with the rest of SB19.
This is a love letter to our parents. For some if not most, we barely tell our parents how we feel inside. This masterpiece will help us do another move to tell them how much we value and love them.
In the song, “we will never get lost because we have the Mapa (Map)”. The map represent our parents. The things they taught us, the sacrifices, the advice they give and hardships. We will never get lost so long as we have the Map (Map).
In the Filipino culture, we children have great regard to our parents / elderly. Most of us we would want to give back. Times wherein we just want our parents to stay still and its time for us (children) to do the rest. We want them to rest from the days and time they give and sacrifices for us.
This song hits the hardest if we have those regrets if not being able to give back and let them rest from those tiring days they spent for us. Regrets prolly due to some unforeseen events. Event where they can no longer hear our “thank you” and gratefulness towards them. Regrets prolly because we don’t have the capability yet of returning the favor (though they never ask for it). Regrets prolly because we are far from them and this pandemic is hindering us of being with them or for any reason.
Normally our parents (MaPa) would not share how hard life is, they would not tell us how tight things are. They would always keep inside them the struggles they are facing and normally they will always show their happy face for us not to worry. First part of the song, Justin talks about how our parents (MaPa) prioritize us in all aspects. In the Filipino culture, remember the day when you as a kid cries asking for a balloon and our parent would graciously get some coins and buy one for you. That moment we can only see the our happiness for getting what we simply want, but we cannot see their smile because we are happy with a simple thing.
Josh’s part where he heed the memories and advise his (a) father gave him. That even though they are not together he promised of keeping them. Remember a milestone in our lives, our first step as a baby? Those gently hands guiding not just our ways but most making sure that if we fall, they are there willing to Catch and pick us up and encourage us to try again.
For Single parents out there, you both the Ma and Pa. you alone is the Mapa.
For those OFW parents (MaPa) doing the great sacrifices for their Kids, Salute! Those OFW Kids making every effort to provide and give back their MaPa’s, Salute.
Watching this masterpiece brings me home every time. Let’s not wait for the time where we regret.. call them now and let them know how much we love and treasure them.
Each one of us has a story to tell with regard to our MaPa and Mapa. I wanna hear em. You may share and comment your story here.
This second single, MAPA answers the “Where” from this comeback.
IF the song “What” is proudly swinging our Flags, this “Where” is talking about our Origin, our parents and wherever we go, we will always go back to ur family.
Mapa=mata and paa
Oh thank God, a technical analysis. I always cry when I listen to this song and watch RVs. This is an objective view of the song which resets my emotions. Thank you! At least I did not cry this time. 😂
Same, pero may kurot pa rin akong nararamdaman. Hahaha
We are so busy growing up, we forgot that they are getting old. Hug your parents❤
Thank you sir for reacting to esbiii,,we truly appreciate you..

The song is so beautiful . The message of the song express the love and adoration of a son to his parents . This shows how filial these guys are ❤ the song is dedicated to all the parents .
Don't understand it but has nice rythme, feels like a happy song.
It's an emotional song actually....
Go and read the lyrics. I swear you might cry. It's really deep

:D
sir Simon really is an amazing producer! and so as the co-producers which are Pablo(leader of sb19), the one who envisioned what it would and should sound like, and sir Jay Durias who also do the piano thing.
Pablo is also a great song composer. i wish you turned on the english captions so that you could appreciate it as well. this song made a lot of people cry and appreciate and love their parents more.

Really appreciate this! 💙 Mad respect...

FYI
Lataratara is a lullaby. Its what a mother sing to make the child fall asleep. And now they wanted to sing that this time for their parents to take a rest too. 💕
The drums! Simon really did it! It's sooo good.
I really love the song. Thanks for reacting SB19 song MaPa
I ALWAYS ENJOY YOUR REACTION @JACOB ESPECIALLY W/#SB19 AND @SIMON, LOOKIN' 4WARD
If you ever react to something in Spanish Aitana is a great Spanish artist considered the pop princess of Spain. She also launched a pop/punk album in December thats very good 4 u vibes! Hope you check her out! Shes really talented ♥️
yes my fav reactor reacted to my fav Filipino boy group!! this is so cool!
We all can celebrate and be grateful of our parents despite and in spite of everything. God bless all!
Really loving your breakdown of the song. I'm always interested in what professional artists and producers think of songs that I like, and it helps make me understand music more. I hope you were able to check the English lyrics too.
Thank you for reacting to just the music! It’s interesting to hear you break down how it was used to complement the lyrics (which I hope you’ll get to, even just on your own time).
John Paolo Nase and Simon Servida working together is a match made in heaven. I can’t wait to hear the other songs they’re collaborating on.
Okay I'm your New subscriber here!

THE MOST EMOTIONAL #SB19 SONG 💙😭
Thanks ☺️
Thank you so much sir
Thanls again for reacting to #SB19..
aanytime!
I cannot imagine if SB19 will perform this in a full live orchestra. It will be grandiose! This is the kind of song that will definitely become an anthem for its message...and will endure for the many years to come.
Thank you💙
So nice i love it
:)
A very deep tribute for our parents.. the english subtitle though wasn't able to portrait the whole meaning of the song..
There are angles that Jacob looks like Sam Milbey 😅 Thank you for this technical RV. 😊 At least i didn't cry 😆
Proud filipino here!!!
nice!!
HHHHH
Thank you for reacting to our #SB19❤️🙏
Another masterpiece from #SB19
❤️❤️
:D
MAPA is a Tagalog term for MAP, and the word MaPa is a short term for Mama (Ma) and Papa (Pa). Therefore, MaPa, our parents, is like a MAP (map), they give us direction and they serve as our guide wherever we go. And as Pablo said, we will not be lost, because we have MaPa (parents as our map). Wherever we go, we can still go back to where we came from.
🙏🙏🙏
Thank you Jacob for reacting! 💙
Di mo kami maloloko Sam Milby!
Oy! HAHAHAHAHHA
Hahahaha oo nga no 😆
😊❤❤❤
New sub! 💙💙💙
Ty for ur reaction
You’re welcome
Thank you for appreciating our original Filipino songs - SB19 A'tin here !!
Great song produced by Simon Servida
Feels like im on my music subject .. hahahahaha thank you sir !!!
Hi jacob! SB19 released a Band Version of Mapa. It’s a whole new vibe and arrangement. Hope you could react to it, it’s on their channel 💙💙💙
Yo!!!! :DD Never clicked so fast!
ayooo
HOW
waiting for your reaction to sir simon servida's video on how they produce this song.
Trust the English sub title 🥺🥺 the lyrics full of surprising
If we want our local artists to find success overseas, instrumentals will draw potential fans, not the lyrics. They don't understand Tagalog and you listen to music, not watch it on YT all the time.
New sub bcus of #SB19
🇵🇭💙😭😭😭
VOTE THEM IN BBMAs thanks😘
Thank you for this reaction!🥰. I hope next time you would use closed captioning because SB19’s songs ALWAYS convey a story or a good message not just beautiful beats, chords or musical arrangements. 🙏🏼😊
#SB19MAPA. 😭
Speaking of Ben&Ben, you should listen to their song 'Ride Home'. the one they performed at the Round Festival.
As a musician yourself, I think you will love the arrangement, and the song as a whole. I hope your react to it.
Actually, all their songs are good.
Mama + Papa =MaPa
Mapa is "Map" in english
Telling that our parents is our guide so we won't lose our way.
After I watched this reaction video i feel that I want to be A producer someday and produce A legendary music like This. Everytime i watch your video i feel that I can do some beats😅
Surprised to see you react to a Filipino song! Looking forward for more reactions to OPM. Recommending you Ben & Ben!
hey better be good around here
😎
Actually you can open the English subtitle to fully understand the lyrics of the song but nonetheless, I really enjoyed your reaction 💙

Oh I didn’t realize that! Thanks!
@@JacobRestituto lmao you might cry if you read the lyrics. It hits home..
If we want our local artists to find success overseas, instrumentals will draw potential fans, not the lyrics. They don't understand Tagalog and you listen to music, not watch it on YT all the time.
Instrumentals are again done by sir simon servida and sir Jay Durias also in piano...
Hi Sir, the song has english subtitle po. And this song was masterpiece with their vocals and melody alone, but the meaning of lyrics are way beyond the word beautiful. I hope you'll try to check the engkish subtitle. Thank you. Stay safe and God bless.
You should try interviewing Jay Durias too. I want to really know how he changed the dynamic of this group. Jay is a big name in the Philippines.
That would be cool. Haven't found anything on how #SB19 came to work with the legend Jay Durias.
Ppop 😱 SB19 + BGYO + BINI ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
