If you're new to the channel, my name is Eli and I am a 4th year dental student at Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine. I attended the University of Maryland, College Park for undergrad, and I did a post-bacc program at George Mason and Georgetown Universities, called G Squared.
On my channel I vlog my dental school journey as well as make videos for pre-dental students who want advice on getting into dental school. I didn't have the easiest journey to dental school, and a unique story, as I was interested in medical school for 2 years after graduating before switching to dental. Follow along my journey as a dental student and after I graduate, I want the channel to be a way for young Black men and women to see someone that looks like them working in the healthcare field. Also, share the channel with anyone you think may find it interesting! I appreciate all the support and really want to get my UA-cam out there.

In all three categories nobody touching. Idk how you upload consistent and stay on your studies. The community has some cool creators everyone is just so separated. Bonsanera , Student Doctor Wright, and Stephen P Ray are the ones I watch the most consistently. The challenge is really finding creators that continue after school. Most channels die about a year after creators start working and I think that lowers the amount of collaboration and idea sharing

I had to watch because I did my residency there … um … 30 years ago! I wish you could have shown more of the clinic … though maybe it’s not even in the same place. If it is the same place, it has changed a lot which it should because it was dated in the 1990s with a 20 year old color scheme. Think “Brady Bunch!” But more importantly, it looks like they have walls instead of all open which is better for pedo. There were ten in each year (20 pedo residents!) when I was there so undergrads really didn’t do much pedo unless they were really motivated and brought their own patients. I recall I supervised one undergrad who brought in his nephew. He totally knew what he was doing and his nephew was totally cooperative so he didn’t really need any help from me. Otherwise, the undergrads assisted us. In U of Alabama, where I did my DMD, we had a bit more direct treatment of pedo patients because their residency program took less residents and just seemed to get more patients. Also, back in the 90s, even we didn’t get too many patients in the BU school clinic for some reason. We had other rotations (Franciscan Children’s and a clinic on Commonwealth Ave) where we saw more patients. There just wasn’t a lot of traffic in the school pedo clinic. I’m not sure if that’s changed.
This is the new pre-doc clinic. The residents clinic still looks as old as you described lol. We still go to Fransiscan as well
