@MrLocomaximo Do you even have to ask why? Cerberus is a good boy. He's rebirthed as Dionysus in mythology, depending on which story you believe. Dionysus has various origin stories and Zagreus becoming him after being killed by titans is one. So Hades can either have three children, two biological and one stepdaughter or just a daughter and stepdaughter if Zagreus isn't in those stories.
@@nocturnalcove9736 the stepdaughter part varies from myth to myth, i'm assuming you're talking about Melinoe who can be either the daughter of Zeus and Persephone or Hades and Persephone My headcanon is that she is the daughter of Hades for obvious reasons

Well they all came from the titans. The entire family tree is basically a straight line , unless you count the ones out that were created. Like Athena who basically popped out the head of Zeus... or the half mortals who were created without their mortal parents consent. I mean Apollo, Zeus and Poseidon were raping everybody out there, women, men, children...didn’t matter...all of them had terrible relationships with their kin and wife’s/husbands: They were abusive and “seduced” innocent people/ tricked them or even the other gods. They were feared by the mortals. Yet...ironically the only god couple who had moralities, never cheated, mostly trusted (if you count out that pomegranate seed thing) each other, were smart enough to never get manipulated by their kin and never raped mortals, were Hades and Persephone... which can be a metaphor for how death is not as scary as living and that the afterlife can bring you piece and security, while life itself can eff you over any second, no matter who you are. So what’s the real hades?
@@biancaivory5167 well to simplify: Hades and Persephone are actually the least problematic couple in Greek mythology and thanks to the other Greek gods life became the actual hades (which is also just another word for orcus/ hell) -> Death is easier than life.
Is a very odd thing where the commentator is just a natural occurance in the realm of Hades. So natural, that the characters within barely comment about it unless it directly influences them (like said scenes where Zagrius is trying to sneak around, and when the commentator accidentally gave away that Persephone was actually his mother.)
Persephone would return to the Underworld if she's informed that Zagreus was alive even though she was kinda unhappy living there. I guess Hades would rather let her live the life she wanted on the surface than let her be bound to the Underworld due to motherhood. :/
Hades is still a god. He’s prideful and wanted to “honor” her request that she live on her own. Plus it was probably painful for him to lose his heir and wife, and didn’t want to readdress it. Then Zag reanimates and is a walking reminder of what he’s lost. Nyx seems to be bound by a number of oaths and has to take round-about ways to accomplish her goals. I believe that she shuttled Persephone out of the underworld alongside Charon, and swore an oath to never reveal her location to the Olympians. So nyx doesn’t tell Zagreus but rather says “try this path once you’re out of here” and nyx doesn’t tell Persephone about Zagreus but let’s him reveal it himself.
This is the reason i have 140 hours in the game. Because to reveal the whole story, bit by bit, was the best experience I had in a long time. That's... actually... a really good question. Maybe Zag says something like: "I have to find the proof before leaving." I would expect nothing less from Supergiant games, they are really thorough.
So wait... this game is saying that demeter is not hades' sister unlike the actual myth? Why? To not have the whole incest thing with Hades and persephone? So then does that also mean she isn't Zues' daughter here either? Is it the same with Hera? Because they are supposed to be different from mortals, in the fact that as long as it isn't their own children, it's fine to marry those they share blood with. I mean technically all the gods are related since they all decend from Chaos. As he birthed the primordial gods, who birthed the titans, who birthed the Olympians.
