Paganism is the spirituality of our ancestors, the original religion of the world, which has endured in many places, and may ways. Lora O'Brien walks through the question - What is Paganism? This is the history, and beliefs of contemporary Paganism as it is practiced today in the huge variety of traditions and different paths that can fall under the umbrella of Paganism, from Wicca and Witchcraft to Druidism, Goddess-centered Religions, and Historical Reconstructionists who look to cultures like the Asatru (Norse), Kemetic (Egyptian), and the ones who sort of lump all ‘Celtic’ nations into one pile of Celtic Paganism and call it good.

So happy to have found this channel. My grandparents are from Ireland and I’ve been wanting to really reconnect with those Irish roots and feel like this is the first source I’ve found that is actually authentic!!!
Paganism is a umbrella term i wish more people understood this.
I appreciate this video. I have been circling Irish paganism for many years, drawn to it, but too traumatized by organized religion to really look into it. I am so drawn to Brigid, and I think her call is getting too strong to ignore...
Great run-down, Lora! Thanks!
You are so welcome!
You are one of the only pagan teachers and sources I actually trust. I’d love to hear your thoughts on the UA-camr Wisdom of Odin
I am loving your videos. Thank you.
Glad you like them!
Interesting talk lora.
Thanks for sharing that bit of history....happy wolf moon...it looks really pretty. Here in archway....b.b.
Thank you! You too!
Good video. I thought there were more Pagans in the US & in the world because a lot of different views all falls under the umbrella of Pagan
We can only count those who are willing to identify as Pagan
@@Ogham True. Do you think it's been a significant increase in Pagans throughout the world within these past years.
We have absolutely seen an increase, in the last 10 years but actually even more so since 2020

Thanks for this talk. I've been thinking about ancestral migrations and cross pantheon worship. I do also recognize to be true my ancestors, it is my responsibility to honor each group through each culture's practices. I am not looking to profit from where I stand. I love looking to your school for authentic Irish culture. There is no American culture. We are a nation of immigrants who colonized native peoples. So I will not appropriate Native American culture. Americans, for some of us, came from many cultures. This is my solution for now. I love you guys. Thanks.
Thanks for this wonderful video.
THIS ❤️ thank you Lora ❤️🙏🏼😊
Thank you for this
I honestly think that justice, diversity, and equality are just elements of any good religion, though I sometimes think that the equality portion comes from Christianity. Indeed, it may be the only good thing that we got from Christianity, the idea that (in Christ) there is no difference between free and slave, man and woman, etc. As Micah says (you can blame this on us Jews) "What does G-d require of you? To act justly, to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God."
One of the things I've had to point out (sometimes repeatedly) to pagan friends is that "No, the requirement for priests is an ancient pagan thing, whether the priest in question was the pater familias or the sacred king. The Jews got it from the Canaanites and Egyptians, and the Christians broke us all free of it, at least to some extent."
💚
Do you suppose that there is an unbroken Western pagan tradition but it was kept secretive due to Roman Catholic suppression?
Not at all.
