I'm playing Cricket video game on Xbox and that is how my character bowls but i thought it was funny of a way to bowl. I never knew people can bowl this way I LOVE IT...
Malinga is from my wife’s country sri lanka . He was beach cricketer from negombo and was just too good and made his way through the ranks to international. Not bad considering in Sri Lanka it’s about what school you played for and who you know but his talent was too great to ignore. There are some great beach and park cricketers who never get anywhere . He rose up despite the odds. And yes he is retired now probably playing beach cricket with his mates.
He has a "sidearm" action. It's legal as long as the arm is straight. Actually all straight arm actions were legal until the infamous underarm incident in the early 1980s
no the rule refers to how many bouncers aka head height balls you can bowl in an over. only two allowed if deemed a particular height. it doesnt have to do with hitting the batsman. obviously you never want to hurt, only intimidate :)
I'm well late in the comments but so glad to see you appreciate Malinga. I'm a Brit and our guys have been on the receiving end of Malinga's arm but I love watching this guy bowl. Best Yorker, could watch him all day. Check out Sachin Tendulkar. Beautiful batsman.
best limited over bowler ever , death over specialist , world cup winning captain . sanga ,mahela , dilshan ,malinga really powerful team of srilanka . srilanka (two time worldcup winners ,one champions tropy , six time asia cup winners )
Next do muttiah muralitharan. Shane warne’s biggest rival and the highest test wicket taker of all time. Shane Warne is second. They played at the same time and had an epic battle
If you do a Virat Kohli one, you’ll get a lot of views too. He has about twice as many followers as Lebron James last time I checked. Think he’s the 3rd most followed sportsmen in the world after Ronaldo and Messi
m.ua-cam.com/video/OupilS4qUq4/v-deo.html this one is good but they spelt his name wrong. It’s muttiah muralitharan. The reason why the 3rd one is good is because the batsman was expecting it to spin the other way. He had the ability to spin the ball both ways without the batsman knowing which way it was going to spin until after it had bounced
1:44 In Cricket, Over Arm Bowling is the norm but Side Arm or Round Arm action is also allowed although is not very common. Only Under Arm is not allowed. Although the origin of Cricket Bowling is in Under Arm action & the original style was probably much closer to Pin Bowling 🎳 or Lawn Bowls. Bowling action actually evolved from there to what it is now. 2:30 Talking is not a problem at all. It shows you're not just watching & pretending to give some reaction but actually thinking whenever you see something new or unusual. So feeling forced to express what you think is normal.
As an Aussie I'm going to say he's a thrower, jk he did a great job for sri Lanka for years.. Couple of other bowlers to have a look at are, Mitch Stark, Mitchel Johnson,
As an Aussie, he is NOT a thrower, he's more a bowler than Brett Lee (who occasionally bent his elbow). It just looks wrong, therefore you think its wrong. Might be helpful to our friend if you spelled the names correctly? Mitchell Starc, Mitchell Johnson.
@@digimont I'm not saying he's a thrower but he'd be handy for the Yankee's bark in the day.. Thanks for the spelling corrections, I'll remember for the next time I never type those name's.
There was a story going around that he bowls that way because there was a tree in the backyard where he grew up as a kid, and he had to practice bowling sideways to avoid his arm hitting a low-hanging branch. I’m pretty sure this was just a story though and it’s just how he naturally bowls.
Like all sports, rulemakers respond to issues. The "2 over the shoulder per over" rule wasn't brought in because of danger, it was because the bowlers that could, were using it as a defensive tactic to reduce scoring in limited overs games. It was changed for marketing reasons.
You can hit a batman as many times as you like. But you are limited to two bouncers per over . Any bouncer after that will be no balled and have to be rebowled again, plus one run added to the score.
@@mdhamim7552 smarter than you mate I didn't make the rules but I understand them they only let him in the side because the terrorist supporting team couldnt field a competitive team
Malinga's bowling action is unorthodox and he is sri lankan cricketer

@silverrahul same I thought it would be a no ball for throwing

A small correction, Malinga is not from Negombo, he is from Galle.

There is 2 types of bowling
1. Pace
2.spin

As long as he doesn’t bend at the elbow, that would make the bowler a “chukka”
The king of yoker from sri lanka 🇱🇰 🇱🇰 🇱🇰 🇱🇰 ❤❤❤
Can you react to cricket top 15 fielding effort?
It is slinga Action
legend comes from Sri Lanka Lasith Malinga ❤❤❤
You can hit a batsman with every ball you bowl. Its their job to hit it and not get hit. As long as you bowl legal deliveries
Like his bowling action is unusual
Malinga is from Sri Lanka
Did you say Mulligans?
Silnga malinga
World best yoker king 👑
Lasith malinga
Its not like you can hit a player literally. Depends on the balls if the batsman missed and hits his body, thats ohk.
Malinga is a pace bowler
