I haven't wanted anything in a while but this is my speed, right here.
Word. Same.
WOAH WOAH WOAH where did this little beauty spring from!? My MegaFM collection is growling at me, they WANT this
❤❤Alex Smith❤❤ protect that man at all costs.
The "Phantom Raspberry Blower" of synth creators
This is very exciting. Grateful someone finally showcased the true range, warmth and depth of 4op plus 2op Fm. Most importantly, an intuitive control panel. Thank you 🙏
Amazing work from a one-man team designing and building these synths!!
I'd do anything to be the second employee, in charge of visual design!
I'm impressed with the sound of this and the possibilities, not normally a fan of fm but the implementation of this one is a different ball game. Can' wait to hear some more from this.
This was an amazing synth. Significantly expands on everything else he has done.
Brilliant!! This is beautiful.
On TE website it says this is one of two new products. I thought by now TE was a well known brand, but nobody is covering this. They are all on Arturia and some other name.
ehem - We did. It was one of the first booths for us to stop by. Great instruments with character!
@@Bonedo-Synthesizers Do you know what the thing to the right of this was? Looks like some kind of prototype FX box perhaps?
@@GurtTarctor it's an on/off switch for the attached FX pedals
@@Bonedo-Synthesizers Ah ok, thanks!
😲 Sounds lovely!
BLESS U FOR THIS
yesss twisted stuff killing it again!!
2:26
Omg instant buy is it up yet
Oh, this sounds different!
I was getting LZ "In The Light" vibes for a sec
Lovely!
Love FM
Holy cow this is sick
Oh this looks good. How does it compare to the MegaFM?
Different FM chip (same as used in the Blastbeats), sequencer, and analogue filters
Hands on FM. Do not expect answers from you, just lots of questions on this synth. Two algorithm sliders on 1 and 5 operators? Runs two at the same time? One master ADSR, or is that switchable/assignable to each oscillator? One ADSR for each operator, is that level OR time based? Feedback only on 1 and 5 operators? Looks great for physical control. Does the physical control mean limitations compared to a DX? 3 LFO's, or again, switchable and assignable? Nice to see a filter section.
(from what I remember):
- 2 Layers: Two independently working operator configuration (One 4 Operator and another 2 operator based algorithm, runs two at the same time)
- Each operator has its own level and time based ADSR envelpe (Sustain is based on level),
- Feedback on operator 1 and 5 (like in many vintage FM synths)
- (Does the physical control mean limitations compared to a DX?) It shouldn't
- Assignable LFOs, Envelopes (that most likely can be put into loop-mode ,too, but I am not sure about that)
- Plus 128 Step Sequencer, chrod mode and Arpeggiator
- Analog Multimode Filter
@@limbicbits WoW!! Great memory! So they are not attempting to emulate a DX7, this is good, don't need a clone. Just great FM explorations in hands on UI.
@@limbicbits I just looked up TE's website the prices are very reasonable! None of their prices exceed 500 Euro's.
@@WildernessMusic_GentleSerene I guess it'll be more in the 800-1100 € range but we'll see.
What chipset is this using? I see a filter section, which is a surprise.
Same as the Blast Beats
that’s a dangerous toy 🔪 🤩
YES❤
Why no one talking about this???
ehem - We did. It was one of the first booths for us to stop by. Great instruments with character!
@@Bonedo-Synthesizersthank you for doing that!
plz show a review in detail
I wonder if Twisted Electrons isn't as well-known because you never see their stuff on "synthfluencer" videos. I don't think Loopop or Red Means Recording or any of them have covered their stuff, right?
Cuckoo did the Megan and it sold out for weeks
Cuckoo and Limbic work their magic on Alex’s stuff but more because they both seem to actually endorse and love them
@@Farold_Haltermeyer exactly! I really like what Alex / TE does. He is not copying existing products and creates something different with character.
But please don't call me synthfluencer - I'll leave that part up to others who do a better job there ;)
@@limbicbits my bank balance disagrees 😂 but jokes aside your approach of taking time to actually sculpt/create with the tech has sold me on more stuff than featureset lists and factory preset surfing.
Alex, hope you're reading all this stuff matey ;)
This video made me seasick. Why is the camera moving like that?
to get you commenting under the videos, thus raise interaction and eventually get the video ranked higher in the youtube recommendations. He did a great job, as it seems
I sold the Megafm cause it was terrible trying to operate the menu functions/know where u are and how to get back , and volume on every patch was too drastic
get good.
Not trying to be a smart-ass but are you sure you are talking about the MEGAfm? There aren't many menu functions on that unit, apart from a few global settings.
And the volume can be setup globally if you like. You might consider to decrease the volume (always thought that was the purpose of a volume knob), or not to raise it over 12 o'clock. That's when the overdrive kicks in which might not be everyone's taste.
@@Bonedo-Synthesizers some people simply never take the time to learn how to use their instruments. You can't fix lazy.
You’re talking about the Sonicware MegaFM, a very different beast. That’s a polite but fun tribute to the chipset sonics. The real MegaFM is a gnarly, knob per function, sugar coated nailbomb that takes a DX7 and lobs it out the window whilst punching you in the face. Much more fun.
@@Farold_Haltermeyer no I’m talking about the twisted electronics megafm. Cool but with some annoying quirks
excuse me what the fuck is this? let me get one
Another desk top piece, has the wold given up on rackmounts…seriously deal breaker I have no more table space and cannot have a football pitch of gear, arms not long enough
Woe is me 😂
