I LOVE these little episodes in between the big adventure ones. You guys should do at least one video a week even if it's not on going outdoors. Maybe about tips on backpacking, gear, bloopers, daily life, wild foods, planning, etc. You'd get way more subscribers if you upload once a week.
My heart is full. I love my (northern) California and seeing others discover what a magical outdoor adventure it can be. Now I'm homesick something fierce!
I love it that you guys don't live off dehydrated camp foods. That you take the time (and carry the weight) to create uplifting meals for your adventures is the best.
Point Reyes was the first place I ever backpacked! Ive always loved relaxing for a weekend and enjoying the beautiful West Coast. Thanks for checking it out
As a kid I used to go backpacking here all the time, and hike the same trail and camp at the same campsite. Great spot and its nice to see that its still just as serene as it was back then.
Your filming and editing is great. I have been to Point Reyes National Seashore many times, kayaking (Tomales Bay and Drakes Bay - amazing), mounting biking, hiking. Its amazing the wildlife, to historic farms, and various ecosystems, from rolling hills, back bay inlets, coastal beaches and rocky cliffs to forests. And the lighthouse is great to visit as well. Its beautiful. We have stayed at the Hostel, as well as stayed at a BnB, and camping. Point Reyes Station (Town outside the National Seashore) is great to. Enjoy the Point Reyez Cheese. Always prepare for various weather patterns within Point Reyes National Seashore. Even on the same day, from coastal to close inland can vary. Point Reyes National Seashore is a perfect example of a "preserved of what California coast was like years ago". Thanks for posting.
Awwwwwwwwwwww Thank you guys for sharing. you are all so amazing. your spirituality warms my soul and fills me with HOPE. you are much more important to this world than you will ever know.
Thank you! I drove the coast and stopped at Point Reyes once but didn't have time to explore, so really appreciate your video. And I love your dialogue & comments as you go.
What a lovely peaceful video only enhanced by your choice of music. The sunset was so delightful! I see the sunset on the west coast of Florida on the Gulf of Mexico daily, and its just as breath taking. However, the scene under the eucalyptus tree just made me want to float way. How I long to be in the present of a wise old tree with the hypnotizing sounds of the ocean. Thank you for taking me to the CA eucalyptus tree!
Thank you so much for the excellent content! I love this journey to the ocean, complete with building a fire on the sand. At 1:40 you also show my favorite plant Lamium purpureum! I call them little lamiaceae's :)
Beautiful video guys! I really appreciate all of the hard work you put in to make these videos. From making the music; to getting all of the scenic shots. These camping and hiking videos can't get any better!
can't stop watching your videos, they are amazing!! you guys inspire me to try and get out and explore and go on my own adventures. Please keep these videos coming
DUDES! Great job as usual. God, that tree was beautiful! And that last scene....uh....lovely. You guys are intelligent, personable, and oh so much fun. It's a pleasure to watch these videos.
Beautiful episode! Seemed like you went at the perfect time, and it wasn’t too cold or foggy at the coast. Glad you found the miner’s lettuce too. Looking forward to the next Andrew and Thomas adventure! ⛺️🚘
We stayed at the same campsite on our trip to Point Reyes a couple years ago :) It really was one of my favorite places to spend the night. I didn't imagine we'd see such a multitude of wildlife and changing landscapes, and I don't think I've ever seen such beautiful sunsets anywhere else in the world... Looks like you guys also had a surreal experience. Thanks as always for sharing!
I've backpacked that exact spot multiple times. The first time I did some acid and sat my the tree. Time stood still. Glad you had a similar experience!
Wonderful video! I love the quiet moment by the eucalyptus tree. I actually took a deep breath and relaxed. The ocean at dusk, crab ramen, you do it all!
That "snuggle" at the end by the eucalyptus tree was hilarious. Great video guys. Can't wait to see the other adventures. Also, I love that idea of "time didn't stand still, but it just didn't matter". Brilliant. Great writing.
I just did that hike a few weeks ago for maybe the 10th time and it's fun to see "newcomers" do the hike and appreciate the things that some of locals begin to take for granted. Next time you have to make your way down to Wildcat Camp and Alamere Falls, one of my personal favorite areas of the Park.
I live 3 hours east in the Sierra foothills. This video makes me want to take a trip to the ocean, it's been way too long. Excellent job by the way. Music was well chosen, nice setting and transition shots, just an overall good job. I've subscribed. Thanks again. :-)
thank you for this. my mother died recently and point reyes was her get away from everything to just find herself was here. Stopping at the camembert factory. i spent alot of time camping by the morgan horse farm.it brought back a lot of awesome memories of my mom
Thanks for reminding me about Pt Reyes. It has been years since I went there, and I live less than 100 miles away. I used to go there a lot, and I took my younger brother on his first backpacking trip there - Glen Camp to WildCat Camp then out to our car near the sound end. I have also been out there on horseback for a NATRAC ride. loved it. time to go back.
LMAO about the ending...very Hollywood, guys! I wish I had taken the opportunity to visit Point Reyes while living in Salinas. So beautiful. My wife and I used to go to Monterey Bay and Pacific Grove often, places you might want to consider traveling to see. I hope you guys traveled on the PCH instead of the freeways...so much beauty along that coastline. My friends and I did it on our Harleys, camping and hiking along the way. Thomas, I don't know if you have been up to Lake Arrowhead (my brother lives on the second tier from the Village) but there are countless trails up there with incredible waterfalls and primitive camp sites. Be careful though because it's bear and mountain lion country; the bears are used to eating human garbage. An 800 pound bear was killed by a hunter not too far from the lake's hospital. There are numerous trail heads off Highway 18 all the way to Big Bear Lake and down to Silverwood.
If you guys ever get the chance to come back to the golden state you should look up a little known place called Butano State park. Oh and next time you make a fire on a windy breach, dig a shallow hole and make the fire in it.
aww yay you're in my backyard! next time you go back, camp at sky then wildcat, and at wildcat at low tide walk down to alemere falls. so glad y'all got to see pt reyes
Special place. I lived nearby for years. Someday you need to explore more of Northern California. The ‘Lost Coast’ is especially amazing. That “ancient” eucalyptus is less than 150 years old.
i am finally going camping soon with my brother and a old friend of mine from school, cant wait to explore and chill outdoors, noticed my painting at the end of the video, seems strange seeing it, was surprising, thanks guys, love what you do, really inspiring that you guys make these videos, much love!
You guys should do more beach camping trips! I'm headed to Cumberland Island Georgia to camp pretty soon, this video definitely raised the excitement for some beach camping! :D
We live right near there and hike a lot, we hiked today in fact. You must be down Limentour beach perhaps, there were some huge Elephant Seals there the other day. We still haven't been on every trail, we tried our best during the lockdown. We like to kayak camp in Tomales Bay as much as possible, you guys should do that together, you can hike up fire roads from there and the Tule Elk hang out there as well. We are seeing a lot more otters now, we saw five yesterday.
When miners came they didn't know what was safe to eat so they had trouble getting enough vitamin C. Native people taught them to eat miner's lettuce which was very easy to identify and provided enough vitamin C to prevent scurvy.
Been wanting to get out here since you guys posted the vid. Yrs later finally secured my reservation today and after checking back on this video, just realized I got the same campsite as you guys and in late March lols. I’ll pay a homage to the star wars gods in your honor while there. Heading to Sky camp the next night. I’ll post a video on my channel so you guys can see what that area looks like.
@@AdventureArchives Will do, April or May probably. Still have trips from last year I have to edit, but I'll move it to the top right after I do the trip lols.
Winter is Spring in California, and summer is our dormant season. Come back around August and everything should look dry. The plants lie in the ground and await the winter rains.
Thomas you seem more of a Northern California guy than a SoCal one. Must do's are hiking Big Basin in the Santa Cruz Mountains . A bay area native myself I truly believe I live in the best place in the country.
Awesome video ... !!! I'm planning on an Ebike tour starting around Modesto, through the Napa Valley, Point Reyes, and up the coast to Oregon ..... when I retire ......
Ayeeee you guys came to my area and I didn’t even know it, damn. I’ve backpacked that exact spot, and when we were kids one of my best friends broke his arm after falling off that exact Eucalyptus tree you guys sat under lol. Good times. Glad you could enjoy what NorCal has to offer, great video
It is a bummer you couldn’t get up north to do more backpacking. Yosemite is fine but crowded. Just a lot of great places in the forests above there. I have a few videos of recent trips. I’d also recommend Lassen. lots of mixed landscapes.
Totally cool man I grew up there in Marin County and have backpacks at Point Raise since I was a boy hard to believe they were going to put a nuclear power plant there Marin County has one of the most strictest open land policies thank goodness good job fellas
Very good idea! Actually, they could work with outdoor gear lab that alway have a very good review and breakdown of gear and then we'd have great footage of the adventure testing said gear.
Another great video. Point Reyes National Seashore is amazing. BTW, you pronounce the "e" in tule and the locals don't pronounce the second "e" in Reyes.

Totally agree. I love these short episodes.
Agree 💯💯
You guys inspire me so much. Seven years of your videos and still love every one. Thanks for everything.
What an awesome beach .. the cliffs .. the sea ... that tree!! Lovely place
That moment by the tree and looking out towards the ocean, was truly something special.

guys this was an incredible adventure. Never saw the California coast as interesting and beautiful as I saw in this video. Thanks, a million!
Oh I miss it so badly, loved it madly. Been over 20 years but it’s the same. Thanks guys for taking me back❤️
Awwwwwwwwwwww Thank you guys for sharing. you are all so amazing. your spirituality warms my soul and fills me with HOPE. you are much more important to this world than you will ever know.
Thank you! You are far too kind but it’s appreciated :)
Thank you! I drove the coast and stopped at Point Reyes once but didn't have time to explore, so really appreciate your video. And I love your dialogue & comments as you go.
Unmatched entertainment, filled with wonder. So thankful for your generous time.

Lol the bromance shot at 18:22 😂. Heading there in August can't wait.
this is such a beautifully made video. this channel definately needs more subs.

You guys did great with this side video! Andrew is amazing when it come to plants. This is a huge part of Adventure Archives success. 👍😀
Happy Andrew and Thomas made it up to our neck of the woods! These mini-episodes between the full length ones are great. Keep up the fantastic work.

Beautiful words about an elderly tree, I share the same respect in Fort Mcdowell, Az.

I love Pt. Reyes Thank you for showing this beautiful gem of California ❤
Seeing you guys there, now I want to go back to California. I miss the beach.🐚
I can never get enough of you're videos. Great job😘
One day I will visit you California! Adventure Archives are the best on UA-cam hands down!!
I was born and raised in the SF Bay Area. Been to Pt. Reyes several times.
First time visiting California this September, your videos are a great source of inspiration.

WOW! This area is beautiful and your ridiculously professional production value just emphasize that. Thanks for sharing. Thanks 🙏🏾
Awesome video guys. Thanks for showing California for it's beauty.
This is 2 wholesome
Yall should go to the lost coast a bit further north, it's amazing. The lost coast trail has a cool light house and some old shipwreck scraps
Such a great sentiment on the passing of time. Love it! Thanks!

going there in two weeks kinda excited
Love that music when you check out the eucalyptus tree.
If you guys ever get the chance to come back to the golden state you should look up a little known place called Butano State park. Oh and next time you make a fire on a windy breach, dig a shallow hole and make the fire in it.
Good idea with the hole. And thanks! We'll have to check it out, it looks amazing.
thanks guys

North of Point Reyes is Fort Ross and Salt Point state park, amazing as well.
Special place. I lived nearby for years. Someday you need to explore more of Northern California. The ‘Lost Coast’ is especially amazing. That “ancient” eucalyptus is less than 150 years old.
Yeah, I'd definitely like to explore more of that region! California is such a beautiful state. Thanks for watching!
Awesome. I live in the bay and now I know I need to add Point Reyes to my camp list =)
i am finally going camping soon with my brother and a old friend of mine from school, cant wait to explore and chill outdoors, noticed my painting at the end of the video, seems strange seeing it, was surprising, thanks guys, love what you do, really inspiring that you guys make these videos, much love!

Wow, great trip, amazing place.
Please please do one on big sur, pfeiffer, and Carmel by the sea!!!????
One of those we did. Stay tuned.
Pt.Reyes is a beautiful area. Robby & Bryan are missing out.
Great video of Northern Coastal California in the spring. I knew you would need a ferrel rod soon!!!!
I love this place. Went there last year, really should have stayed much longer. It's really unspoiled and lots of solitude.
We live right near there and hike a lot, we hiked today in fact. You must be down Limentour beach perhaps, there were some huge Elephant Seals there the other day. just went to mcclure's beach for the first time today!
Love the edits!
Keep an eye out for "Purslane" in those seaside regions. Picked at the right time is great eaten as is and better in a greek salad.
Charred driftwood crab? Can you get any fancier? Maybe you guys should start a cooking channel :D

Great hike! Make me want to hike and explore northern CA!
if you come to the beach of california, I would highly recommend you hike the Big sur, and other part of the High 1
You guys should do a meetup next time you're in the San Francisco area!
Point Reyes is my favorite place on earth. No one should visit..:p
A new video? Miracle
Nice place.

wow u made me gwt dressed and go hiking thanks

Ya'll got to do Oregon beaches. So much better.
