Thank you for this detailed video. Is there an alternative to sound insulate the celling, after the interior work is completed, and the house is occupied? We are not keen on false ceiling.
People generally do Thermocol False Ceiling in such cases, but it is not very aesthetic. Another alternative can be PVC ceiling for aesthetics, but it does not provide good sound insulation. These both methods does not require re-painting of the place. You can also combine PVC ceiling with thermocol/glasswool inside to solve your purpose.
If the builder has already given us a false ceiling, but we want to take it off, because we feel it reduces storage space, can it be done without any structural harm?
Doing False Ceiling is always suggested. Just take care in Kitchen and Bathrooms. In Kitchen, it will reduce the height marginally, and if there are lot of fumes in kitchen it will not be easy to clean a Gypsum/POP ceiling. While in Bathrooms there will be moisture that will once again damage the Gypsum/POP ceiling. You can take either ACP or PVC ceilings in both these areas. ACP looks more elegant, but its also slightly expensive than PVC.

What is the minimum false ceiling height required in order to do false ceiling?
Hi, it would take 3" to 3.5" minimum to fix the frame and pass the electrical conduits.
