Love this movie. Cooper and Stanwyck always had great chemistry. The seven professors (dwarfs) were fantastic. So many great character actors. There was a remake with Danny Kate and Virginia Mayo in 1948, "A Song is Born". Several well known jazz musicians were in that movie.
There were some pretty good ones in this film too: Gene Krupa Orchestra - with Gene using matches and a box (without setting light to them till the end
Clarence the Angel,who did not have his wings yet, is playing one of the professor's .Gary Cooper was a woman's man, but he always came across as a heart full innocent man.That makes him so lovely 😍👍👏👏👏 watching from Germany 🙋❤
When she says "i'll get you on the Ameche" referring to the guy who played the guy who invented the phone refers to Don Ameche in Alexander Graham Bell. Its a great movie! I cant believe i knew that😮 it's on YT. I recommend it!

This is the late 1800s BTW. I couldn't find anything on Africa on inventing the phone I think the term trunk calls might be a later invention for long distance but unsure

This is a great movie. I’ve seen numerous times and never get tired of it. The actors and actresses are great. This is one of the movies I watch when I need find something that pleasant to to watch and hear. No horrors or thrillers. It’s not a slapstick comedy but it’s entertaining in a good way. I adore this film. All the old professors are such darlings, and I recognise them from so many other films. Cuddles Sakall from "Casablanca", and Oakar Homolka had a career right up into spy films in the 'sixties.
It's so sad that they are not able to do this today. We don't have talented enough writers and actors to create such an entertaining movie and maintain a "G" rating.

There are no actors alive today who could pull this off. Besides they would turn it into queers and the proffessors would be women of all nationalities and the house keeper trans the crooks would be some made up thing no one except the 3% would recognise. Rotten Tomatoes would say it was great and the people would stay away in droves. Is this what you had in mind?
