Old games are genuinely better in every way than new games, its that simple. Whenever I go back to PS3 and 360 and replay their gems, it makes me realize just how sad all the games I have on PS5 are. Only this weekend I started replaying GTAIV, and again was totally swept away. 100% immersion. Not a single current gen game has given me such immersion.
people who say pc is better then console in everyway forget one Pc games that try to copy some consoles lag like hell and are slow. the console in this case is better and 2 gaming is console's domain, it's home turf and in that space... console will always will
I've only been playing older games for a while now and I don't regret it. That is not to say that I'm not gonna play games that are new now in the future but I generally am not into buying the hype anymore. It's as you say, I play at my own pace and what I feel like next, without the feeling of urgency to join a current thing out of FOMO. The only thing that does get urgent from time to time is when servers close on a game where I still have to get the online trophies for.^^'
Smaller download size is nice too, like i don't want to download a 80gb game for a game that I'll play for maybe 10-20 hours. Old games like Oblivion or Skyrim that are fast to install and I'll probably 10 hours is much more appealing.
It’s not that the games have aged well it’s that the technology has not sufficiently improved enough since they were released and people have learned to lower their standards and play the older games rather than the hogwash they try and sell us nowadays
What older games have aged well that you played recently for the first time?
skyrim the elder scrolls, which just came out like last year or when ubisoft decides to re-release it again lol
No DLC's, no DEI content, full releases with few bugs, stories that dont take you for a baby or a dumb person. And of course as you said the price.

It's not Now. Like every gamer plays older games after years. Even from SNES era. I love to revisit Front Mission from SNES. Replay them.
They are more now than ever.
I must admit that some really old games have terrible controls which doesn't make me want to play them.
Quality video i found.
The answer: No woke bullshit

no saying you aren't allowed to enjoy the new win just saying the old one is better
