Dr Stephanie Suter - World Migratory Fish Day 2023

Assisting migratory fish to make their way through the whole length of a river is a pretty important role of the WGCMA.
Through the construction of fishways that allow fish passage past a man-made obstruction as well as through the management of flows though the timed release of water from rivers with storages on them, the WGCMA with its partners works to assist fish migration.
With this in mind and acknowledging World Migratory Fish Day on May 21, here is Dr Stephanie Suter explaining the importance of fish movement in our waterways.
